Kiesuke Honda apparently in north London for a medical, this rumour is starting to gather momentum, and we have been linked with Honda before.

Make of that what you will, who's Derek Taylor anyway?
Not really a shock, there have been reports of Arsenal being interested before, he wants to leave and the President of Fiorentina said they would only sell to a club outside of Italy. He'd do well for your lot. Not hard to do better than Sunday night though [-o< Still, the idea of hanging on tonight until the wee hours hoping Wenger has his furry little head sticking out of every hole looking for top signings is quite salivating =p~ Not used to all this excitement and buzz and hope of actually signing a top player from somewhere o:)

Wenger and Villas Boas apparently spotted chatting in the departure lounge at Heathrow airport and apparently departed to Geneva and Nice. Not shure which one went where.

Gilles Sunu has left the club and signed a 4 year deal with Lorient.
Henri Lansbury will be joining West Ham on loan, and then will more than likely leave next year at the end of his contract. Means we have to be signing a midfielder today, otherwise he wouldn't be leaving I don't think.

Lansbury to West Ham and a swoop for Scott Parker under Tottenham's noses in return? Yes, I just made that up; but it sounds credible.

Quote:Santos confirmed as an Arsenal playerArsenal Football Club can confirm the signing of Brazilian defender Andre Santos on a long-term contract. The 28-year-old international joins the Gunners from Super Lig champions Fenerbahce, for whom he has played since 2009. Santos supplanted Roberto Carlos as the team’s first-choice left-back in his first season in Turkey and went on to make 52 league appearances, scoring 10 times. Sao Paulo born Santos’ career also includes a campaign with Brazilian giants Corinthians and a three-year spell with Figueirense, from where he took in loans with Flamengo and Atletico Miniero. He received his first senior cap for Brazil in the 2009 Confederations Cup, helping them to victory in the tournament, and has so far represented his country on 22 occasions. Arsène Wenger said: “Santos is a quality player, with the ability to both defend well and get forward and help with attacks. He has experience in the Champions League and for Brazil and has proven he can deliver at the highest level. We welcome Santos to the Club and look forward to him having a big impact for us.” Upon completing his move, Santos said: "I am delighted to have signed for Arsenal. It was one of my dreams to play for a major European football club and I have accomplished this. I am very happy to be part of this team. All the Brazilians who came to this club spoke wonders about it and I am delighted to be part of the Arsenal family." The deal is subject to the completion of formal registration processes. Andre Santos will wear the No 11 at Arsenal and will have A.Santos on the back of his shirt. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/santos-confirmed-as-an-arsenal-player Glad to get this done. Now to confirm Mertesacker, and get a midfielder.

7 hours is still a long time. I just got a gut feeling if we sign a midfielder it will be Marvin Martin, and I would be very happy with that.

Quote: Per Mertesacker set to join Arsenal Arsenal has confirmed they have agreed terms with Werder Bremen to sign German international defender Per Mertesacker. At 26, the 6ft 6in centre-back has significant experience at both club and international level. Mertesacker has enjoyed eight seasons in the German top flight - five with Werder Bremen and three with Hannover 96 - making 221 league appearances in total and finding the net on 19 occasions. The former Werder Bremen captain also played 53 times in Europe for the Green-Whites, including the 2009 Europa League Final. In 75 games for Germany, Mertesacker has helped his country to the Semi-Finals of the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and to the Final of the 2008 European Championship. The deal is subject to the completion of formal registration processes. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/per-mertesacker-set-to-join-arsenal

So Per Mertesacker's website says he has signed a contract until 2015.
The longer this goes on the more I get the feeling Arsene will be coming back from Geneve with a new friend called Marvin.
Rumours around that Renato Augusto is in London for a medical while the 2 clubs sort out a fee.

Could be full of shit but just read this on another forum Quote:Had to let you guys know what I've just heard from an extremely reliable source (I'd trust him with my life) - we've signed Adam Johnson and Mikel Arteta, who are being given numbers 13 and 4. Both should be announced within the hour.

The Adam Johnson one I'd say is shit, but the Arteta one is interesting. There were rumours yesterday, and earlier today but they went away, and now suddenly Twitter's gone crazy with Arteta rumours and that we are really strongly in for him.
Have to say, if the Renato Augusto rumours are true I would be a very happy boy, but if we could get both him and Arteta I'd be fucking ecstatic.

Fuck me, lets just spend money, we've got plenty, lets just spend cause we can. Get a nice little squad together! In a swooping clutch nab Parker, aggressively alleviate Samba off Backburn, run for Renato Augusto and fuck Arteta's wife! Yes I like

DickinsonTimes Matt Dickinson by WaltonRed7 Arteta a good player but also had injuries. Arsenal bid 4 mill for him yesterday. Now paying 10 out of necessity
He'd be a good signing. Similar to Fabregas, just not as good.

Well lets face it who is as good as Cesc
People want a Cesc clone so bad how about we pay 200m and get him back because that's as close to a clone as we would get.

Quote: Campbell and Sunu heading for Lorient New signing Joel Campbell is to join FC Lorient on loan for the 2011/12 season, while young forward Gilles Sunu has completed a permanent move to the French side. The 19-year-old Costa Rica international Campbell has played two seasons at senior level in his native Primera Division with Deportivo Saprissa and on loan at Puntarenas, making a total of eight league appearances. He heads to Ligue 1 to gain further first-team experience this term. Gilles Sunu (20) joins Lorient on a permanent basis, having spent the latter half of the 2010/11 campaign on loan with Christian Gourcuff’s side. The former French youth International joined Arsenal in the summer of 2007, emerging as a key player in the 2009 FA Youth Cup-winning team. He made his first-team debut in a Carling Cup win over West Bromwich Albion in 2009/10, before coming on as a substitute in the UEFA Champions League match against Olympiacos in Athens later that term. He was a member of the France side that won the European Under-19 Championships in July 2010. Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to wish both Campbell and Sunu well in Northern France, and thank Gilles for his contribution to the Club. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/campbell-and-sunu-heading-for-lorient Will be interesting to see how Joel goes.
