Just a question Benelsmore, what did you think of Holt's dive?

By buried one I assume you mean score? If that's the case it would've been hard for Holt to score when he didn't even have 1 shot, let alone 1 on goal. Norwich had 2 shots on target, Morison's goal and Pilkington's freekick.

Yeah they had a few blocked shots but apart from those and the terrible miss from Pilkington from 6 yards out I don't remember any real chances they had. They had some decent ball down the wings but had absolutely no players into the box and their delivery was pretty crap. Also gave away way to much ball trying to go through our centre backs. Speaking of shots that can go anywhere, I'm still trying to figure out how the fuck Russell Martin got that first goal line clearance over the bar. 9 times out of 10 that goes off his shin and in  Edited by sydneycroatia58: 20/11/2011 10:08:27 PM

Norwich seemed to be eager to counter but ran out of steam as soon as they got over the half way line. Would be interesting to see the gunners come up against a form team again. Against Chelsea they were phenomenal, but can they do it again? I'm not doubting for the sake of doubting but it would be interesting to measure their recent success against other top teams.

Quote: Wenger - 'My love for this Club is total' By Richard Clarke Arsène Wenger has reinforced his commitment to Arsenal by declaring, once again, that “this is the Club of my life”. The manager moved to clarify his position after comments he made about his future were published in a French magazine on Saturday morning. “I wanted just to say that this is the Club of my life,” he told Arsenal Player after the 2-1 win at Norwich. “I have a contract that I will honour and the only way I would one day consider [leaving] is if I feel I have not done well enough for the Club. “You cannot say you love the Club and have a start like we had then ignore it. That is just what I wanted to say. “There is no mixed message in there. My commitment and love for this Club is total. The only way I would consider [my future] is if I was not doing well enough for the Club.” http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-my-love-for-this-club-is-total- The stories about his comments and how he'll be leaving at the end of the season really are nothing short of hilarious. Leave it to the English press to sensationalize a nothing story.

Was just looking at where we were after 12 games last season compared to this season, and considering the start we had it makes some interesting reading.
Last season - Played 12, Won 7, Drawn 2, Lost 3 This season - Played 12, Won 7, Drawn 1, Lost 4

Just shows how tight the league is right now. I don't think we're in the race for the title but a decent result against City could change that... You just never know. We were in the race this time last year...

We were in the race this time last year... This time last year we were 5 points of Chelsea at the top. Big difference is last season we didn't have City running away with it  City have 6 more points after 12 games than Chelsea did last season.

He does a lot of Liverpool compilations but I just noticed this one too... thought you'd like it.
My god his footwork is amazing, isn't it? He just beats players for fun. Really is one of the best forwards of the last 20 years.

When you have footwork like he did and add thr blinding pace to it it's just unfair on every opponent  Will never forget that goal against Liverpool where he just ran rings around the defence, in particular Jamie Carragher
The fact that he never won a WPOTY award is ludicrous, especially in that 2002-05 period when he was easily the best striker in the world.

The funny thing is now people say certain players won't win the WPOTY award because they didn't have any success at club level yet that seemed to be the opposite in the 03/04 season  Ronaldinho won the award, yet won nothing with Barcelona. Henry on the other hand lead Arsenal to an unbeaten season, scoring 30 league goals in the process and yet finishes 2nd  How he didn't win it that season is beyond me, especially when he was at the peak of his powers and far and away the best striker on the planet. Could also make a case for him deserving to win in 03 just on the basis of his league form. scored 24 goals and had 23 assists which is just fucking absurd from a striker

No doubting how good he was but showing a little bias  . Only natural but there was some top players then.

No doubt I'm bias, but bias aside, I can't see how he shouldn't have won in that 03/04 season.

First English club through, only English club to win this matchday, and the only one top of their group. Not bad for a team who people said were gonna struggle to qualify. That's 12 seasons in a row of Champions League knockout football.
People will talk about RvP, but I thought our best player tonight was Alex Song. Absolute machine, was just everywhere, and the work for thaat assist for Robin's first was just unbelievable.
Now to play the U15s against Olympiakos

That's funny, if we are such a one man team Van Persie would be winning every man of the match award and beating 5-6 players and scoring which he clearly isn't. We didn't win this morning because of Van Persie, we won because of Alex Song and some horrible marking from Dortmund. As for marking him out of the game. A team can try that, the problem is it is almost impoosible for just one player to mark him out of the game. It would be very very difficult to actually organise marking him out of the game simply because of how he plays.

I was talking about Premier league title chase, for every Van Persie , Walcott, Song … in your line up, you have one P.Mertesacker... that are hindering your title effort.

Mertesacker hasn't seemed to be a problem lately, and for a 2nd choice CB he's an excellent player to have.
Also, we aren't chasing the title, at least not this season.

I don't like it when people call us a one man team, it insults the excellent work that players like Song, Vermaelen and Koscielney do. We'd struggle more without Song than without Van Persie in all honesty. Walcott,(well, not recently) Gervinho, Arteta, Arshavin and many others; they're all capable of scoring goals. But none of these players have the work rate and sheer defensive steel of Alex Song
