Glad to hear signs that Bendtner and Squillaci might be on their way out. Possibly Arshavin to QPR too? Heard Arshavin has also been linked to Galatasaray as well.

And hopefully Wilshere will be back as some point... the damaging thing in the last few years has been the exits rather than the lack of signings, signings without exits improves depth, so if RVP wanted to " to bring the club back to its glory days" he wouldnt leave.. That 11 listed would leave some quality on the bench which is definitely desirable

Even if RVP leaves you seem to have done all you can to replace his goals, should come close at least.

I think the key this season is we have been pro-active, we've bought before we've sold. That's the one thing we've failed to do in past summers.

New keeper? Good to see the club and Santi not waste any time getting him into training. Hopefully see him maybe get some minutes against Koln.

Still annoying that the youtube montages don't have all his goals for Malaga last year. scored 4 FK and 8 of his 9 goals were from outside the box so that's another 4 from outside the box in open play. I have seen one from chipped from about 4 yards

I swear every single picture of Andre Santos makes me laugh  Here's one for the body language experts, can just imagine 2 seperate stories, one for each picture. "Van Persie happy at Arsenal" "Arsenal discontent, disinterested Van Persie unhappy at being forced to participate in pre-season tour"

I fucking knew it  I just knew somehow someone would make a story out of this. It really is just pathetic. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2184916/Robin-van-Persie-looks-miserable-Arsenal-training.htmlOf course they leave out this other picture of RvP at training where he looks so miserable. I can tell he's just wishing he was anywhere else but in Germany.

Did you see Sam Lyon (fmr bbc live text commentator) say via twitter that as it stands on paper Arsenal now have a stronger squad than both of the Manchester teams... bring in Sahin and he's probably right.
So Arsene's done his shopping now he has to decide how to fit it all in the fridge and cupboards... having well stocked supplies is the best feeling!
Ooooh, I just had a rare surge of optimism. I didn't recognise it at first but yep, it was definitely optimism...
"We're the finest team the word has ever seen!" "Come on Arsenal!"

"We're the finest team the word has ever seen!" "Come on Arsenal!" Love the optimism but honestly... :p City still destroy us player for player. May have caught up to MU in that sense though (while we keep RVP). Edited by neanderthal: 8/8/2012 10:32:35 AM

Thats a hell of a big call... Our squad's starting to look very good but I dont think we have a better squad than city. If we re-sign RVP, Walcott and give Song an extension then Ill start feeling more comfortable.
Man U's strength isnt their squad (which is still incredibly good) but their winning mentality. If we have matched their squad I'd love us next to get that self belief (which is part of the reason I want us to keep RVP, he's a winner)

Surely you guys need another cb? If I were an Arsenal fan I would be more upset about losing song than RVP.

Edited by Hinderz: 8/8/2012 10:35:08 AM Song won't be getting an extension, he's still got 3 years on his contract. While I don't think we're on par with City still a while to go for that, I don't think we're very far behind United at all on paper, now of course that means nothing in the long run, but it is a nice feeling to look at our squad and see some actual quality depth. If RvP does end up staying it will make us even stronger, and I would start feeling very good about this season.

Yeah my mistake, I thought he had 2 left and assumed this was his agent whoring him out to improve his terms Edited by Hinderz: 8/8/2012 04:49:18 PM

Players I've seen us linked to in the past couple of days. Much truth to any of them?
Ki Sung Yeung Nuri Sahin Cheikhou Kouyate Javi Garcia Ibrahim Afellay Kevin Mirallas Gregory van der Wiel

Don't know about there being any truth in them but the only ones I'd be at all interested in are Sahin, Afellay and maybe van der Wiel so we have a decent back up to Bacary.

Definitely wouldn't say no to Garcia either. Not sure Afellay is needed anymore unless Theo is going somewhere. Anymore investment beyond a central midfielder like Sahin should be on a defender.

Interesting to see Poldi training with the #9 on his shorts. Probably means nothing, but interesting nonetheless.

Plus, Djourou and Giroud being on the pitch at the same time will be a pain in the ass. sydneycroatia58 wrote:Interesting to see Poldi training with the #9 on his shorts. Lots of chatter about RVP going to United. According one of Arsenals more reliable "ITKs"'
@AFCAMDEN United have been "pushing very hard" for RVP, but of late Robin has been in great spirits and buzzing in training. Hard one to call. He trained well in Germany this morning and is expected to take part in Sunday's friendly against Cologne.
I'd hate us to sell to Man U but 10m and Welbeck (also in the last year of his deal and stalling) and I'd think about it if I were Arsene.
