I just read a report saying Manchester United has put in a bid of 22 million pounds. I hope this is true and i hope Arsenal accept it because i would accept anything over 20 for that piece of shit. And he says Arsenal lacks ambition. Its maybe that hes scared shitless there will be competition for his spot this season along with the fact hes really after more money. I think he lacks ambition to be honest.

It's about money. I know, it's just annoying that he came out with this crap. I always thought he was a very loyal person but I was clearly wrong.

Where does he have a better chance of winning trophies?
Manchester or Arsenal?
Of course money plays a part but he isn't going to win the league or Europe at Arsenal in the near future.

But we had a better chance than Arsenal. Yeh but since RVP seems to think he is king shit atm he shouldnt leave to a club that had a better chance last season then Arsenal winning a trophy yet couldnt do so. And as for this coming season which is the one that really counts you cant say that Arsenal doesnt have a chance or as good a chance of winning something next season after signing Giroud,Podolski, and Carzola with possibly one more to come. If he had left last season i would have agreed with him having sold Clichy,Fabregas, and Nasri but considering we still finished 3rd with last seasons team and with the current signings you would have Arsenal right up there as one of the favourites to win a trophy especially if RVP was to stay. To say what he said at this time its pretty obvious hes after the money more then anything else. Either way right now i just hope you guys sign him up.

RVP just wanted to leave, it's quite obvious he doesn't take much pride in the shirt. I'm glad we have gotten some coin, hopefully we also buy another striker.

So I wake up, get on the computer, check Arsenal.com and I'm greeted by the headline 'Terms agreed for Van Persie transfer'. Bye Robin, it was fun...
...up until last month.

TBH I never though RVP would be allowed to go to an EPL rival.

I don't know if Juve put a 20m bid in but if they did I would take a 4m cut so he didn't go to a prem rival

He really deserves congratulations on successfully turning every single Arsenal fan against him. I mean that's something not even Nasri or Adebaoyr could achieve. Also nice to know that words mean absolutely nothing in football Almost ironic that he turns his back on the club that gave him more than we should have almost 18 months to the day since he said that

This is even worse than the Torres thing IMO... at least Torres had the decency to be shit at the time we sold him/the next 12 months/we got a stupidly good fee for him. You guys just got shafted.
Always running the risk with his contract running out though.

Always running the risk with his contract running out though. Yep, we stick by him for 7 years, when most clubs would've got rid long ago, and he fucks off at the first sign of some actual prolonged fitness.

I don't wish injury on him but I would love nothing more than Arsenal pinching the league off united in the style Man City did or for us to win the FA cup against them with a RVP own goal. RVP couldn't dig a hole big enough to hide in. Now what to do with my v.Persie 11 top from a few years ago. Shame really as it is my favourite in the collection (maroon/navy hooped 2nd/3rd kit with gold trimming etc)

In striker news even though he had a disappointing first season some good news for Park Chu-Young is that he will not be leaving at the end of the season for military service because of his bronze medal so if he comes good you will get to keep him. If its been mentioned already sorry

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xsuelo_vermaelen-geschokt-door-vertrek-van-persie_newsVermaelen being told about van Persie leavng after friendly against Holland Quote: It's been announced that RVP left for Man United. -Is that...? It's on United's and Arsenal's websites. -Okay... What is your reaction? -Well, it's a surprise to me. I've, eh... Yeah, I think it's... eh... Yeah it's a shock. I'm very disappointed. I mean, I'd like to have seen Robin stay at the club, I mean, Robin is-- well Robin was very important to us last year, he was vital to us, so yeah. I have to admit it's news to me too, so... I'm not sure how to react, really. Yeah, I'm very disappointed [in him?]. He's probably had a tough time these past months with all this drama around him. -Yeah, I dunno, I didn't notice it at training. I thought he looked sharp and fit at training so in that sense I don't think you could tell. But in the end maybe it's a good choice for him, I might speak to him later. I don't know how to react since it's news to me. How will you cover for this loss? -I think we've had some good purchases in Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla, all of whom really impressed me this week. Those are very good buys so I'm definitely confident we still have the quality at Arsenal to win things. Despite this, the victory [over NL] takes precedence, that joy? -Yeah I'm very happy with the victory today, for a bit. Tomorrow we go to the club and focus on Saturday. A little bittersweet? -After this news you could say that, yes. But I'll speak with Robin later. Anyway, nothing you can do.

I'm not even mad, I'm just disappointed in and for Robin.
I understand his reasons for leaving, but he didn't handle it at all well and took bad advice. He could have left with his head held high, got his pay day and medal and not thrown away the last 8 years, but he didn't. I wouldn't have begrudged him any success in Spain, Italy or the CL.

All the 8 years are down the drain now. He could of played another 4 years at Arsenal if he kept his form up he could've possibly been up for legend/club great status.

My heart bleeds... When was the last time we sold to United? Thirty years ago?? This is proof that we can no longer compete. It speaks volumes when Wenger had to veto the deal Gazidis made two weeks ago. Who has Arsenal's best interests at heart I wonder? Edited by KenGooner_GCU: 16/8/2012 08:09:29 PM
