Fixtures against Utd always stir passions - two clubs with history and embers of a recent white hot rivalry...
There are so many memories (good and bad) but recent times has been dominated by Utd. I'd just love to turn the tables, outplay them (as they have us a few times recently) and stroll out of OT with the whole crowd and tv audience realising...
Arsenal. Are. Back!

Probably not going to make our best 11 but a bit of pace is always welcome off the bench plus Ozil, Ramsey etc are going to need a break at some point. Incredible to think we are going to have someone with 36 caps for England and over 180 appearances for Arsenal sitting on our bench.

Ox looked really good in the first half against Aston Villa, I think he got the assist? I think he was looking good for a breakout season so hopefully he comes back in similar form, the other 2 were decent aswell, Podolski's brace was good... They will surely be rotated, I dont think it would be smart to play Rosicky every game given his age and potential for injury

Walcott won't sit on our bench when fit IMO, he offers something different to anyone we have.
Cazorla-Ozil-Walcott Ramsey-Arteta
IMO

IMO Needs more Flam Didn't walcott re-sign under the assurance he'd be considered a striker from now on?

With Theo I think it all depends on the opposition. I wouldn't say he is 100% guaranteed a starting spot when fit. For example there are games where he goes through the whole 90 mins having absolutely no effect on the game at all.

Painful game to watch. Both teams as poor as each other. Don't think I've seen us give away cheap possession like that in a long time.

Always shit losing to those cunts, but ohwell, not a huge surprise after the week we've had. If you'd told me out of Liverpool, Dortmund and United we'd have 2 wins and a loss I'd have bitten your hand off.
In the end we're still top of the league with a whole host of players to come back after the international break so it's not all bad. I was pleased with our 2nd half performance and on another day would have nicked a point. Considering the shit fight we've had the last week and how many players came into this game not 100% can't be devastated by this, just gotta move on.

In the end if you'd told me in August that by mid-November we'd be ontop of the table and 4 pts ahead of Chelsea, 5 ahead of United and 6 ahead of City I'd have laughed in your face.

Taking the piss a little but also a genuine question. Aaron Ramsay: I can't be the best judge because I have not watched full matches of Arsenal every week but is that the Ramsay we have been seeing just without the goals or was he just poor?
Can't remember anything making me think this guy is one of, if not the best in the league at the moment.

I could see the likes of Ozil or Cazorla doing something when they got the ball but United were happy to let Ramsey get the ball at times. Edited by busbybabe: 11/11/2013 10:49:49 AM

Yeah that's Ramsey's worst game for a very long time, just couldn't get into any sort of rhythm

Yeah, first half especially was just turgid. Disappointing but not unexpected after most of them played 90 mins against Liverpool and then again against Dortmund. 2nd half was better, especially from Özil and Cazorla, but Rambo just could never get into it. That said, thought our defence came out of the game looking alright, can't really say any of them played badly, and Vermaelen deserves some credit, first league start in a while and I thought he looked really good for the most part. Funny, before the game when the lineups came out I'd have said Per would be the one we miss, but it turned out to be Rosicky. We were sorely lacking that drive from midfield that he brings, Jack brought some of it when he came on but not even close to what Rosicky does.

Chesney has signed a new long term contract (Y)
Chesney,De Gea and probably Courtois next year in the prem. So many young first choice keepers.

Not our best performance, but fairly comfortable in the end. Lead now to 4 pts, almost what it was before the the United match. Another clean sheet which keeps our good run defensively in the league going with just 1 goal conceded in our last 4 games

Also worth remembering that this win comes against a team who beat Liverpool away, got a draw against United away and had only conceded 3 goals in 11 games.

Awful game, could only be described as scrap-central. Mikel was ordinary, we couldn't even hold possession and did Giroud want to be caught offside any more? A win is a win, but it was a poor performance (from both sides)

A win is a win, but it was a poor performance (from both sides) EPL matches aren't choreographed, both teams pressed, both teams probably deserve to be where they are on the table...
