I wouldn't feel too bad about the loss. Its one of those games where you just have to say "we got outplayed by a better team."
I'd be scared to see what city could do if they put in a 90 min performance though, they had their moments of complacency.

I couldn't believe walcott steered it that well, was a good goal but Fernandinho's goal was class as well. Sanga's cross for Giroud if in would have been an interesting game. Mind you citeh lost Aguero early but as you say citeh switched off 3 - 1 up. The build up for Silva's was great play and great guide into the net. Come on 4 goal loss would hurt 6 is a hammering no matter who or where your placed. Edited by M.L.: 15/12/2013 12:11:40 PM

People have been waiting all season for these 2 games. One down - chelski got the result they needed in ready for game 2 shall be interesting.

I guess one positive way of looking at the draw is that Bayern are probably more upset with drawing us than we are of drawing them.

I didn't get the big deal with the Ozil thing. Yes, it would have been nice of him to go and thank the fans but it's not this great tradition at Arsenal, a lot of the times players just disappear down the tunnel, just like a lot of players at most clubs.

Is it just me or do we draw the singularly worst possible option every year lately in the knockout round?
Barcelona twice, Bayern Munich twice and Milan once (only truly big team in the second pot). But I could be forgetting something.

Looks like we're getting Chelsea at a decent time. Only 2 wins in their last 6 away games and 11 goals conceded in that time.

Win it and we're top at Christmas, two clear of Liverpool (who play Chelsea and Man City over Christmas/New Year) and 5 clear of Chelsea. Lose it and I wouldn't be surprised if we dropped another result over the festive period. [-o< [-o< [-o<

So Jack's been suspended for 2 games for giving the City fans the finger. Complete fucking joke. Apprently the FA considers being caught giving the finger in a photograph to be a lesser offence than being caught on tv giving the finger. Not really sure how they figured that out.

Some good injury news coming into this ridiculously busy period. Poldi is back in the squad for the Chelsea game which is a big boost. Kos will miss the Chelsea game but most reports say there is a more than good chance he'll be back for the Boxing Day clash against West Ham and Ox is looking like he'll be back and available by the FA Cup game against Sp*rs.

A win against Chelsea and we have a very nice run of league games that could set us up very well for the title run in. After Chelsea we have West Ham(A), Newcastle(A), Cardiff(H), Villa(A), Fulham(H), Southampton(A), Palace(H)
In that time there is City v Liverpool, Liverpool v Chelsea, Chelsea v United, Sp*rs v City and City v Chelsea. A real chance to pick up a lot of points.

All true but a loss v Chelsea and we'll be 4th. Its funny cos if you'd told me at the start of the season at Christmas you'll be 4th 1pt and GD off top I would definitely have taken it... says a lot about the change in both our hopes and expectations that we'd be a point off top in 4th (with that fixture list to come) and be disappointed. I still think a win over a Mourinho led Chelsea (even if judging by the table they are not our biggest rival to the crown) will do wonders for our squad and our season!

For anyone surprised about us not beating Chelsea this morning, don't be. Just have a look at our record since 2009/10 with Mike Dean in charge
