Kallstrom makes sense if we're buying to cover the injury of Ramsey and suspension of Flamini. Provides some good experienced cover for the run in.
Also just get a feeling, and I stress it is just a feeling, that we could see someone like a Morata come in on loan.

Helder Postiga has apparently signed for Lazio, so could be something in those Klose rumours. Would love it if we signed him

TBPH, wouldn't mind a cut price deal for Kalou (who we'll inevitably be linked with today if we haven't already)

OK so right now it looks like Kallstrom is definitely happening, and a lot of talk about Klose picking up.

He was never going to make the grade but genuinely sad to see Frimpong leave . Might have been a complete idiot but really loved the club and was good for a laugh

Quote: Club agrees loan move for Kim Kallstrom Swedish international midfielder Kim Kallstrom has joined Arsenal on loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow until the end of the 2013/14 season. The 31-year-old arrives at Arsenal with a wealth of experience, having made 108 international appearances for Sweden and over 400 club appearances during his career so far, in which he has played league football in Sweden, France and Russia. Kallstrom started his career in 1999 with Swedish side BK Hacken. After spending two years at the Gothenburg club, the midfielder moved to Djurgardens IF, where he won the Swedish League in both 2002 and 2003, together with the Swedish National Cup in 2002. Following two years at Djurgardens IF, Kallstrom moved to France where he spent eight successful years, firstly with Rennes for two seasons, before moving to Lyon, where he enjoyed much success. During his time with ‘OL’, Kallstrom made over 200 appearances, winning the Ligue 1 title twice (2006/07, 2007/08), the French National Cup twice (2008, 2012) and the French Super Cup twice (2007, 2008). He was also a regular in the Uefa Champions League, helping Lyon to the semi-final of the competition in 2009/10. Vastly experienced at international level, the midfielder was part of his country’s squads at four major tournaments - the European Championships in 2004, 2008 and 2012, and the 2006 World Cup. Arsène Wenger said: “Kim Kallstrom is a hugely-experienced player. He is a midfielder with proven quality at both club and international level. We welcome Kim to Arsenal.” Kallstrom spoke to Arsenal Media as he completed the move and said: “Arsenal is an amazing club with a lot of great players and a coach who has done really well here for a long time. I am so pleased to come here to learn as much as possible. I’m here to do my best for Arsenal and to help out the team, so we can achieve good results for the last part of the season.” Although Kallstrom has appeared for Spartak Moscow in this season's Europa League at the play-off stage, when they were eliminated by Swiss club St.Gallen, he will be eligible for Arsenal for the remainder of this season’s Champions League campaign. Kim Kallstrom’s squad number will be revealed on the Club’s official Twitter feed @Arsenal soon. Everyone at Arsenal welcomes Kim to the Club and wishes him every success during his time here. The loan move is subject to the completion of standard regulatory processes http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/club-agrees-loan-move-for-kim-kallstrom

Sky reporting that we've had a loan bid for Papiss Cisse rejected. If true it indicates we are still actively looking for a player with just under 2 hours left.

Ok so we didn't get the striker we should have, but I'm still pretty happy with the window, mostly because I was expecting no one to come in.
Also the window was made great by the fact we managed to get rid of both Frimpong and somehow Park, although that is only a loan deal.

I don't know I feel like it's an opportunity missed. We need another spark to really just keep us pushing and we won't be allowed to slip up at all anymore due to the fact that City don't look like losing any time soon

Someone made a good point. Is the opportunity to get Reus for 30m in the summer the reason Arsene baulked at paying 37m for Draxler in January.
Also wouldn't surprise me if, like Podolski, the Draxler deal is done in between now and the end of the season.

From the outside looking in, it looks poor from Arsenal. I still think the title is between Chelsea and City but you can't hide from the fact that Arsenal are in there, going out and spending 5 or so million on a striker isn't that risky. In my opinion, the little hope that was there for the title is gone.

Honestly, if we're spending 5m on a striker we'd probably be just as well not spending it and sticking with what we've got. There really wasn't that much on offer that was worth it and anything that was maybe worth it wasn't gettable.

Pretty much this, if we couldn't get someone on loan there would have been no point buying a 10mil striker, as it would just mean we would have unnecessary wages when we hopefully attempt to sign a striker in summer.

Think of what the reward could have been though? Obviously a long shot for the title but bringing in a goal scorer, even on loan just made sense to me.

It's easy to say we should have signed someone on loan, and it's reported we tried with Kalou and Cisse, but obviously there just weren't any options on the market.

A club as big as Arsenal should be able to find a player to do a job. I'm not say go and sign a world class player, rarely are you going to get that in January, I'm saying bring in a player who will improve an area that needs improving. I still think Berbatov would have been the type of signing. Someone who can play, score goals, wants to be at the top, not in a relegation battle, he was available and if Arsenal wanted him, they could have got him.

I'm sure there's a striker out there available on a free in the summer who you could have picked up at a bargain price.

If it could potentially help you win the league though, it puts a different spin on it. You guys are in a great position, what's going to happen if you miss out on the title by 2 or 3 goals and that might not seem a lot but translate that into tight games and that's 6 or 9 points.

Definitely a poor window from Arsenal if anything cover was needed for defence and a new Striker should have been brought in as everyone is aware but i dont get why Arsenal fans on here arent angered by this , If Giroud gets injured there fucked!
It's the best position Arsenal have been in for years in terms of challenging for the title and with there run of fixtures coming up i now dont see them having any chance of winning the league , Why not take a chance on a Danny Ings or a Kostas Mitrogolou for about ten mill and have a genuine chance of winning some silverware for a change.
Berba would have been great aswell and could Arsenal recall the costa rican at Olypimicos although i dont think he was doing to well in Spain last year.

I don't think it's so much to do with if Giroud gets injured, with every passing game, it's one game closer to the end, it's about having more goals in the team.

No strikers for back up... I guess there seems to be a lot of faith in 'Wake me up Sonogo'. I understand the in Arsene we trust mentality but this is the time to be bold and spend big. Add depth whilst the team is competitive not once the season's done.
I think we've erred in not signing another striker. It's handed the ascendancy to City and Chelsea... and made us relaint on them slipping up not us making the statement and showing the intent to win it.
I hope to be proven wrong but I don't think I will be somehow.
Welcome K.Kallstrom by the way... great depth for midfield but that's hardly our problem area is it?

I don't believe any of these names would really add enough to the team to be the difference between winning the title and not winning the title.
I mean Danny Ings, really!? Fucking really!!??
We were never going to sign anyone who could push the team onto the next level this window, it was only ever going to be a back-up striker or at most someone who could give Giroud a bit of competition, no idea what people were expecting. Who knows what happened and why we didn't get someone to fit that that bill? No point moaning now, we'll just after to get by with what we've got which hasn't exactly served us badly so far - we're one point off the top after 23 games FFS.
Some people take football waaaaay too seriously  Sure a lot of these people moaning are paying through their noses for their season ticket but that's it, they're paying for a season ticket. I perfectly understand why you'd have issues with being priced out of going to games (and it's something that we all agree needs to be addressed) but whether you're paying $1 or $1,000, you're paying for a season ticket, you're not paying to have a say in the clubs transfer policy or how any of the clubs money (even if a lot of it is your own) is spent. Like it or not, that's just the way it is, so please just shut up. Just be grateful that you can afford to go and see the team every other week - win, lose or draw.
