A return to 4-4-2 anyone? Although im not sure it can really work in the modern game, its all about dominating the midfield these days.

Quote: Coquelin signs new long-term contract Francis Coquelin has signed a new long-term contract with the Club. Since returning from a successful year long loan spell with French Ligue 1 side Lorient in the summer, the France youth international has featured 12 times for Arsène Wenger’s side. Demonstrating his versatility with a string of fine performances in both holding midfield and defence, Coquelin has established himself as a valuable addition to the first team squad this term, putting in a man of the match performance against Tottenham in October and providing excellent cover in both full-back positions. The youngster, who made his Arsenal debut in the Carling Cup victory over Sheffield United in September 2008 aged 17, has now racked up a total of 16 games at senior level. As well as being a regular for the Reserves in recent seasons, he was an integral part of the FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2009 and a key member of the France team to win the European Under-19 Championships a year later. Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Francis' continued contribution to the Club in the years to come. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/coquelin-signs-new-long-term-contract Brilliant news. Been very very impressed with him this season. Unfortunate with the injury last night, but apparently isn't as serious as feared.

Why could he not start a game if Wenger so wished? He'll start at the very least one game in the league in the time he's here I'd have thought. It's not like he's not good enough to start. I don't follow your team or squad so don't know the chance. Does Wenger ever play 2 strikers? If so, how often? What things does Henry offer that RVP doesn't? Wenger's played 2 strikers up top in the League Cup recently but other than that it's usually RVP in the centre with two men out on the flanks. But I can see him starting Thierry on the wing occasionally especially with the main alternative in that position being Arshavin. Also during the loan spell RVP will probably be rotated out of the starting line-up for a premier league match to keep him fresh so Henry will be the man leading the line whenever that happens.

The look on his face and his celebration said it all about how much he loved that goal

Even I have to admit that was a special moment for Arsenal. Could see it happening, I can see him grabbing another one now.

You could not fucking make this up. Henry comes on, first sight on goal, bang goal.
He's still got it, typical Henry finish.

Szczesny, Coquelin, Koscielny, Squillaci, Miquel, Song, Arteta, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arshavin, Chamakh.
Substitutes: Martinez, Yennaris, Benayoun, Ryo, Walcott, Park, Henry
Never confident when the first XI contains Squillaci, Arshavin & Chamakh. But think Leeds problems in central defence might actually see Chamakh get off the mark.

He's contributed 11 goals so far this season, whether it be through scoring or assisting. I'm more than happy with that halfway through his first season in a new league with a new team.

Can't be bothered to get into this again but I will anyway. People are way too harsh on Gervinho, they expect him to set the league on fire in his first season. I'm confident next season once he's completely settled in he'll be a good player. At the moment, hes' been crucial to a lot of the goals we've scored this season and as has been said time and again he only needs to improve one thing, his finishing. Once he's settled in the goals will flow a little more but at the moment, I'm not disappointed with his season so far.

Would be a good buy, for the resons presented above. He's not better than Gervinho. The only thing he has on him is his finishing is a bit better. I actually don't rate Gervinho. He looks like a baby giraffe when he runs, almost like he is tripping over himself. Because judging a player on the way he runs is a real smart thing to do #-o *when he has the ball. Looking like he does when in possession makes me feel as though he has poor ball security, so then I see he is just pace. Plus he has bombed his fair share of chances on goal this season. As a forward speed, control and finishing are key attributes and IMO he doesn't reflect these too well.

I'd be happy with Kalou for 3mil. What about his wages though? I read somewhere he was asking for £90,000/wk from Chelsea when negotiating anew contract? He's only kidding himself if he thinks he's worth that much.
