We've reportedly put in a bid for William Carvalho. I've only seen him play a little bit (not nearly enough to make a comment on) but he's a bloody unit
According to some Portuguese punditry I've read, he also has a very underrated passing game which would be important for us. From what little I've seen mobility could be a big issue for him, but we've played with Arteta for years so seemingly won't be a problem.

If only we had a midfielder that was Flamini and Arteta combined. The physicality of Flamini combined with the passing of Arteta. Would literally be the perfect midfielder for us

Obviously youtube compilations should be taken with a grain of salt, however, he looks a very skilled tackler and can spray long passes with both feet. I personally would be very excited by this purchase, I think he's more what we need than a Khedira type. Plus apparently he's on like 8k a week (what I would do for that amount  ) meaning he probably won't demand like 140k after tax like Khedira. I'm definitely on the hype train, but I still want Schneiderlin

Schneiderlin was initially my favourite, but after his apparent desire to join spurs (for poch), I don't want him so much ;)

Apparently the other day we signed Dan Crowley to a professional contract. IMO this is huge news - any young Arsenal games I've watched or even highlights I've got to see, he's been every freaking where. To me he seems like he has the general look/run/etc of Jack, but the passing range of Mesut.
I have seriously high hopes for this kid. I know it is way too optimistic, but I see him being more important to us than Cesc used to be, one day.

Ok so Champions League draw tomorrow night our time, I think it's at 2am. We will be drawn against one of Bilbao, Lille, Copenhagen, Besiktas or Standard Liege. Happy with anyone but Besiktas.

Copenhagen and Liege the ones you want.
Any of the other 3 could be problematic.

Just read we're potentially lining up Agger if/when Verm leaves.

Interesting to note that Carvalho played youth football as a #10 supposedly.

Watching the training session, some volleying and shooting being done, Campbell and Chamberlain are the ones crossing it in, Sanogo,Giroud and Sanchez the one's shooting. Sanogo on fire, only one scoring.
Possibly for Comm Shield?

Don't think it means we won't be signing a midfielder, just that he saw Khedira as too similar to the box-to-box players we already have and not a defensive midfielder. Also looking like Vermaelen to Barca is close apparently. Means another defender will be coming in. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 8/8/2014 07:50:45 AM

David Ornstein @bbcsport_david 31s More #AFC & #FCB agree fee around £15m for Vermaelen. Terms & medical over weekend. #MUFC ended interest after refusing player swap

I still have a feeling Vermaelen will join us, it will be late in the window in my opinion though.
Now I said that, he will be in Spain on Monday.

If he does join you, you're going to be paying more than 15mil for an error prone, injury prone 3rd choice CB with 1 year left on his contract.
Wouldn't mind at all.

Wouldn't mind at all. If he signs for Barca, it will be Barca have picked up a good, experienced CB. All the best to him, a decent signing. If United sign him, error and injury prone, overrated, money grabbing whore. He can fuck right off. Time will tell what reaction it will be  In terms of what United are after, he suits us very well. Better players have failed after moves and lesser players flourish. Time will tell. But I have really warmed to the idea of him at United.

No doubt the price is crazy but if the club needs a CB, which we both really need, that's the price we have to pay. We bought an injury prone Arsenal captain for over 20m in the last year of his contract too. Depends how bad the manager wants that player.
(I know RVP had a fit season but Arsenal fans were playing the injury prone card when he was sold)
