Having said that we are in some ridiculously good form at home. 8 wins in a row, which is our best home run since before we even moved to the Emirates, and scored 22 goals in those games while conceding just 3. I actually feel almost confident about Monaco on Wednesday , although that's probably because even if we don't make it I know our season isn't over yet.

Probably , 2nd is definitely the aim now I think, but win the rest of our games, including Chelsea and who knows  ;) Edited by sydneycroatia58: 15/3/2015 12:30:50 PM

After the worst start to a season in 30 odd years mid way through November, it would be the most incredible title win ever  80+ points gives us at least a chance, especially if we beat Chelsea.
But yeah, not gonna happen

Ideally, and I know Santi has been in ridiculous form I'd line up like this: Ospina Bellerin-Mert-Kos-Monreal Ramsey-Coquelin Theo-Ozil-Sanchez Giroud Walcott's movement for Ozil and off Giroud is much better than Welbz's but Welbeck is more efficient and offers more defensive protection. It's a tough one.

I want to be angry, but after that performance I can't bring myself to it. Unfortunately, like usual, we leave ourselves to much to do in the 2nd leg.
Mertesacker was outstanding, such a good recovery from the first leg. Welbz was excellent in the first half but faded a bit in the 2nd. Not quite sure how Sanchez managed to stay on the pitch, should have been subbed much earlier.

It's been overlooked due to our winning form and the improvement in Cazorla and more recently Ramsay but I must say it's been a good month since he's been effective. I'd rest him this weekend and bring in Theo for Newcastle. Theo typically plays well against the Geordies and if he plays well it might make Sanchez up his game for the run in.

Our Champions League campaign this season is depressing when you look at it from the group stage on.
Dortmund away - the less said the better Galatasaray home - great performance, just behind Dortmund at home Anderlecht away - shit performance, pulled out the win somehow in the end Anderlecht home - outstanding first 65 odd mins, wish I could forget the rest of that game Dortmund home - best performance in Europe for the season Galatasray away - great win, but the game essentially meant nothing so couldn't read a whole lot into it. Monaco home - one of the most naive performances from us in Europe for a long time Monaco away - great fight and one of our better away performances.
It's not all bad though, we're still in some ridiculously good form in the league, 13 wins in our last 16 games

Yeah it's been disguised because we've been able to win without him playing like he was earlier in the season. Which really isn't a bad thing, and with how much he's played it's not a shock he's struggling towards the back end of the season. He probably should have been rested against West Ham, but now we have the perfect chance to rest him against Newcastle and give Theo a chance to get some consecutive league starts, which he really needs I think because when he starts more often than not he scores.

Also us struggling in the first leg is not just us, over the last 3 seasons no English team has actually won a home leg in the knockout rounds with 7 losses and 2 draws since 2013. On the other hand English sides have done better away from home with 2 wins(both by us), 2 losses and 3 draws.
