whoooops.
Napoli is never a given playing them at home, Ancelotti has them sorted and ready for combat thats for sure.
We lost last year to them as well.
We had enough chances long before the soft late goals and they had theirs.
A high quality game but they sure effected our fluency imo.
That was not a pen against us when seeing the replays but thats football.
I feel a loss is a positive for it brings us back to the ground.

i think the next challenge we face is real madrid and barca coming after mane and salah.

the most amazing thing klopp does imo is keep the team together (besides coutinho) and hopefully nobody leaves

word started last night they considering going for VVD now as well lol......
Look pre Klopp obviously we were to cash in over the years but its upside down now, our revenue has picked up greatly, players want to stay for the model is still yet to peak imo and the players feel this I gather by reading their comments etc and then in many case's who wouldn't want to join the club now and ahead.
We all know paper isn't worth what its written on but what does it cost getting out of it and who's willing to pay.....
In saying that we've resigned the bulk of the squad and more and below isn't updated on VVD just few weeks ago agreed on a new 6yr contract.....

What a home game.......
We were in slow motion at the commencement, lacked intensity and this allowed the Toons a surprise early 7th min goal.
TAA on rare occasion gave his opposite too much room and got to say what a strike for the 1nil lead, no keeper would have touched that rocket.
Importantly it woke us up dealing with a backline of 5 and Toons sitting deep.
I suppose most clubs will keep this approach when facing us this season once again.
28min mark Robbo assists Mane !
In hindsight Origi turning his ankle was a blessing in disguise @ 37min mark.(hope not out too long might I add)
This introduced Bobby into the fray 40min mark assists Mane goal !.
By then we were controlling the game, 76% possesion, 21 shots to 8, 10 corners to 1.
The 72min mark Bobby shows his utter class and had all game a touch of skill brilliance that can only be admired watching setting up Salah to break through into the box and stylishly shot across the keeper into the side netting.
What a phase of play to watch and confirms what a player Bobby is for us.

Next up CL vsing Roma, this is going to a huge one to start off with.

Prior to the NT break our boys won some more gongs......
VVD got UEFA POTY.
Allison got KeeperOTY.

Salah got GOTM in the League.

NT duties through last weekend and Reds were part of the wins and 1 loss.
Hendo/TAA played in the Kosoco game whilst Ox/Gomez on the bench.
The Dutch are on a roll and not surprising.
VVD/Ginny < in form - an assist and goal.
Lovren used his head in the Croation win.
Origi played in Belguim's win.
Robbo suffered a loss :(

Clarets away coming up.
I rate this team and Dyche is such a bull dog figther and he coachs his team as such.
We normally gain the result but no game is a given anymore especially having the target on our backs now.

and Carabao Cup round been annouced vsing MKDons away Sept 23.
They always dig in for these games and I expect Klopp will rest many starters.

well the game went pretty much by my post above pre game.
The early settling in for a while Gooners were looking capable but we had much of the ball and the pressure was going to give sooner or later.
25 shots to 9.
Matips header from a corner released the shackles not long before HT.
What did I say about Luis lol, professional foul and also Salah owned him a number of times.
Our best game of the season so far - we looked really sound but for a few counters.
Bobbys movement and footwork is to die for.
Everyone played well, Salah was at his best, what a pen take and the lead up play for his 2nd and his incl finish was clinical.
Emery's plan of staying compressed left both flanks open for Robbo TAA, not sure any team should play this way against us and @ Anfield.
What a home record were building.
Some good results - bravo Palace lol, and Toons rubbing out Spurs.
Good game by Villa knocking off the Toffee's.

agree CH on your post.
StMarys has been such a hit miss for us for years hence my concerns posted before the game.
The mid week + ET sure did hurt us but Klopp knew and the changes made said it all after HT.
Back in the day would have been a loss.
Adrian sure has had a High and Low within a matter of days, expect he'll learn from this and Klopp will manage him accordingly mentally.
Yes the City/Spurs game was already getting pre game discussion on what the result could effect on the season.
A win would have been their 16th in a row ? or whatever if I recall right heading towards a club record whereas now Spurs has broken that chance and taken 2 valuable points from them.
Long long way to go.
Yes bring on Arsenal, I watched that game vsing Burnley, Ceballos recieved alot of good press from the game and yep he played well BUT he was allowed the space, Burnly sat back playing counter football - this guy won't get the space from us for starters.
Luiz is Luiz yes he has improved them but his error rate is climbing at the pace of Mane/Salah and Bobbys skill will have him playing professional fouls all game lol......
The boys at the back just have to nullify Aubameyang job done.

It still feels kind of surreal to sit back and watch this team play so measured and efficiently. Just a few seasons ago, they'd have been lucky to leave St Mary's with a draw. But despite the mid-week game clearly having an effect in the 1st half, whatever Klopp said/ did at h/t clearly was enough for them to turn it around and they would've left with a clean-sheet if not for Adrian's Karius moment of madness. Ings was terribly unlucky not to equalise but by the same token we were unlucky not to have scored another two goals and put it out of reach anyway. If it was any other team, I'd find LFC such a pain in the arse with how they manage to get results even if they don't play well all game. I also forget (at the start of every single season) just how long the PL season goes for, and of course we're going to drop points along the way- but City's draw to Spurs could have a big impact in the final run-in when we look back.

Bring on Arsenal!

yep sure would be and especially for the next few games whilst Allison is out.

Gonna be huge backing up playing away Saturday arvo after ET/pens and Southampton always give us a hard time.
I'm not confident on this one but maybe the hunger will get us over the line.

yer ? I beg to differ, numbers don't lie on paper but the games themselves present NO club is a easy win that is for sure and what I'm really meaning.
The bottom clubs are no easy pickings as it once was long ago.
IMO no other comp I watch is as strong now.
LaLiga, owned by Barca Real, bottom clubs hardly win games against the strong ones that I see.
Sure an exception now and then.
Bundas, Bayern have owned it, won last 7 x 29 titles, next best is 9 titles.
LaLiga as we know Barca RM own it, RM 33 titles 23 times runners up, Barca, 26 titles 25 times runners up.
Last different club to win was Atleti 2013/4 and prior Valencia 2003/4.
SerieA Juve kills them all, last 8 titles x 35 in total 21 times runners up, Milan next best with 18 titles.
Ligue 1, PSG now last 6 titles barring Monaco grabbing 16/17 title. PSG mainly lose on a bad day nowadays.
Look at your league - Rangers and Celtic own it - excl Rangers demotion tangles you've won last 8 and both clubs are way ahead in win and runners ups, its only tuff when the Hoops don't turn up for the game mentally :)
EPL since 2000 we've seen 5 winners, United/Arsenal/Chelsea/Leicester/City and I don't watch too many easy games visiting lower table clubs nowadays compared to the ol days.

Sure the divide will always be there, money as we know none of those other comps as the big 4 lets say

I reckon this season is going to be even more competitive, so many clubs have built up that little bit more and some with many changes.

yer Klopp just as at Mainz and Dortmund will be a LFC Legend period.
Lallana is very lucky as we know, any other gaffa in our current standing would have off loaded him.
Only injuries will give him the chance being a 1sts's starter for now and Cup etc games will be his program.
Up to him as long as he doesn't keep having injury bad luck forcing his way in.
A smart approach by Klopp, Lallana does have the skill to play a role Klopp sees, so whats the point cutting him off and buy not knowing what they deliver but pursue with what you got.
It will be his last chance I feel, if it doesn't work out could even go through Jan window I guess.

Well the summer happenings are taking place for all clubs.
Were in a good place and the recent 2 friendly's played have been good runs for all involved to date.
Our concerns injury wise from 1st team is Shaqiri torn calf suffered NT duties and Keita, minor adductor strain should be right soon.
Origi resigned.
Ox back for the season ahead
Gomez benefit pre season training ready for the season
Lallana to play a deeper role.
Still looking for a LB backup for Robbo.
Bobby Allison Brazil Copa Champs.
Mane in Africa Cup Final - will need a good rest.
Young Brewster impressing.
more goss of all things are we going to end up with Coutinho ?
LFC in USA now and so much else has occurred.
All in all from my reading the boys are pumped and can't wait for the season to commence and were the opening act at home :

well things have been happening a little.
Signed up this young promising fella :

New Liverpool signing Sepp Van den Berg has been speaking about his decision to make the switch to the Premier League club.

The Reds picked up the centre-back for an initial fee of £1.4million from PEC Zwolle.

He told the club's website: “When I came here for the first time, it directly gave me a good feeling.

“The people who work here were really nice to me and everybody I met was really nice, so it gave me a good feeling – a family feeling, and that’s very important for me.

“I am a little bit of a family guy, so it was hard to leave home to come here, but I saw how the people looked after me. It gave me a really good feeling.”

So welcome young Sepp.

RM still trying to tug at Mane

Real Madrid could offer Marco Asensio in a stunning swap deal to sign Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

The Senegal forward scored 26 goals last season as the Reds won a sixth Champions League trophy.

The Express report Real Madrid have stepped up their interest in Mane.

And it has been claimed that Asensio, who has been a target of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in the past, could be included in a potential deal to tempt Mane away from Anfield.

Can't believe this comes up again just 9hrs ago :
Liverpool have opened the door to a sensational Phillippe Coutinho return, according to reports.

sounds like your day was meant to be CH, just like some of your weird dreams lol.......
Thats what I didn't want to deal with somewhere in the city being I wasn't getting in early, no good seat, not good view of the screen, etcetc, but damn miss the atmosphere watching from home.
Oh well when you win it no matter where you are I guess, its happy days even watching at home with a spudz supporter, at least I had the upper hand :)
I'll have to see if I can find the Sunrise link.

Yeah I've watched a tonne of fan videos from the day, plus the offerings from Redmen TV and TAW.

Personally, it was one of those mornings where everything went better than I expected it to- from being able to sit for the whole game with a clear view of the big screen, to going 1-0 up so early, to Divock sealing the result right at squeaky bum time, to getting on TV via Sunrise later that morning to remind everybody we won it 6 times.

The celebrations have been sensational to watch via websites etcetcetc, be it back at LFC and what a parade that was and even still back in Madrid by supporters that stayed on.
One group what a hoot, singing chanting through the Madrid streets armed with blow up big ear trophys went into a BarcaFC store lol.......
Singing in front of Messi large picture and then seeing Coutinho's at the shop front ending with Phil sorry mate lol......
The open top parade how were the boys loving it and more so Klopp :)
He poured beer over 2 players heads, bottle between his legs counting up to 6 and smiling wide, nearly falling over when bus braked, so many other happenings its been fun to watch.
What a welcome by the faithful.
Hendo has been getting some great press regards his captainship, he finally shut up all the doubters now so glad for him.
What some of our boys think of him has been great to see.
The Dutch NT team welcoming VVD and Wij at their hotel, much respect by them to our boys constant applause and hand shakes, then we saw Hendo and TAA arrive at their NT hotel so different upon greeting between Kane/Alli lol.....expected.
Been a great week to date, I'm still going to my office with my LFC scarf.

Glad to hear you had a great time in town.
That was my concern, having to get there later I would have had to stand up the back of any venue so home it was home instead with my daughter inlaw joining me in her Spuz shirt whilst my son was at the Surry Hills Spudz pub since 10pm Sat night - oh plus our 2 LFC supporting cats on my side.
The shock of that early pen sure did change the whole game plans of both sides.
We especially went into game control till HT.
This is what was having me "nervous" whole game as you mention.
The amount of possession we allowed them was killing me tbh, their close one touch's was looking impressive but I thought wow we were cutting off that final pass so many times it wasn't funny, I was thinking those %'s was going to hurt us sooner or later.
TAA was in a last man moment that I thought fuck no this is it, thankfully the ball hit his shin.
VVD's run down of Son breaking through the box was a cracker moment.
Matip was again top.
We just couldn't play our game, Robbo and TAA hardly pressed but we know why.
Spurs would be wondering how they couldn't break us today still.
Then Origi comes on, once again he puts the sword through the heart when we really needed it, Thankyou Div !
I felt the pressure relief after that but to still sit through them pressing us was frustrating.
Will they get that breakthrough I kept thinking, corner after corner we defended, holy hell Becker's saves were like, I'm covering everything no worries, he was in the right spot every single time, no spills, the deflections were so strong, one release put us on the counter that could have been a chance.
Your right when seeing 5more mins IT I thought fuck no that long, please let this be over now.
The win was sheer determination as we've seen some games when not playing well.

Every single player worked their butts off in that heat but Becker was MOTM for me, worth every single $.
The scenes after the final whistle takes me back to Istanbul and further.
Our supporters at the ground singing away, our team and staff joining in staying there for so long I loved watching it all wishing I was there OR now at Liverpool for the parade !
Were back officially now, Big Ears is with us for the 6th time !
I noticed my son looking haggered/worn out/deflated having got back walking to his room, about 8am, I couldn't say much to the poor lad, just said we felt like you last year remember, when in hurt nothing helps we know.

Lets talk about 6 baby LOL.......

As it stands, I've been awake for nearly 40 hours.

Last night I got into Sydney late. Standing across from Town Hall at 11:30pm waiting for my mate I got this feeling you get sometimes at a wedding or a graduation or some milestone event like that- where you take in every little detail happening around you like you're watching it back on film and it feels as if you're on the verge of something significant. We went to 3 Monkeys to watch the game, got in about 1:00am and it was surprising how quickly the morning went. It was like we had a couple of drinks, watched the PL highlights showing on one of the screens, watched the full replay of the Barca tie at Anfield and then it was almost time for kickoff. Probably helped we managed to have seats the whole night- last year's CL Final at the casino we were standing nearly the whole time and the time just seemed to draaaaaaag oooon...

The game itself? LFC didn't play to their very best like I hoped, but it was typical of so many of their games this season just gone. Defended well and scored the goals needed. I couldn't believe the stats showing Spurs dominating possession and having more completed passes/ shots on target etc. They were sloppy with the ball- how many times did they boot it downfield and kick it out of play? How many times did they give away a corner through a clumsy attempt at creating a goal-scoring opportunity? In that first half, it felt like LFC were well in control and Spurs rarely got my pulse racing. To their credit they didn't fall in a heap the way Arsenal did the other night in Baku and showed the resilience that got them to the final in the first place. But they lacked the finesse to really threaten, aside from the last 10 or 15 minutes that had me thinking about the final 20 years ago (when Man United scored those 2 injury time goals to sweep Bayern who'd lead 1-0 most of the game). I've heard neutrals calling the game "boring", but I found it tense. Not a thriller, but that 1-goal buffer felt curiously more insecure the longer time went on...

Then enter Divock. Give the man a statue outside Anfield, and put a huge dick on it. He's earned it. There were 3 minutes there where I was thinking we had it- then that 5 minutes injury time gave me this insecure feeling again because Spurs were throwing everything at it and kept creating some genuinely worrying chances. It wasn't until there were 2 minutes to go that I eased up, pulled my phone out to film the countdown and joined in the singing.

Job done- best possible answer after last years' Final. This season is officially a success. Was awesome to join up with the Cheers/ casino crowd in the street then march up to the Town Hall steps afterwards. And if you watched Sunrise this morning, you might have caught my mate and I reminding Sydney that we've won it 6 times.

The question- do we now change the lyrics to:

We've conquered all of Europe,
We're never gonna stop
From Paris down to Madrid
We've won the fucking lot.

???

*Edit*

Am I the only one finding it strange having to hold up two hands to count our CL tally?

There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed
