If these owners were around during the Hicks/Gillett era we probably land Tevez and Arshavin, while keeping Torres. Rafa also wanted Alves, Simao, Barry, Silva but couldn't afford them. Let's hope they spend in Summer.

Kenny should have taken the chance to put the boot into english managers there :P
Decent game this morning. But I don't know why we started with Kuyt as lone striker. Peculiar move by Kenny but if it works it works.
Three in a row for Liverpool. LOOK OUT WORLD! We haven't done that since the three weeks after the court case.

Carroll & Suarez = complement each other perfectly. I dare say if we don't pick up Carroll we finish In the bottom half more players leave and we are looking for a new manager at end of season.
We couldn't have gone the rest of the season riding on the moral boost of Kenny and we really did need to pick someone else up so as to avoid finishing of an already poor season with a weaker 11.
Sure we paid to much but we were definitely forced Into It by Torres and the fact that It's an actual Kenny signing and didn't come from upstairs like the Keane signing should tell us that It's probably going to be worth It and could actually save us money... Wtf you on about you ask, well because Dalglish has gone out and bought a player who can hold up the ball and score like nobody else with his head Its allowed us to change to a formation that effectively plays to our strengths In central midfield and out wide with wing backs this lowering the need for spending In the summer.
When playing a 5-3-2 we would need at least a top quality wingback (£10-£20) and bonuses after that would include a central midfielder (£5- £20) and/or a CB (£5-£20) Ideally spending between £15-£35/£40 In the window but only needing to spend £10.
But If we were to be playing a standard 4-4-2 we would need at a minimum a Left mid (£10-£20) a right mid (£10-£20) and a left back (£10-£20) and while not necessary still wanting to strengthen at centre back (£5-£20) and central mid (£5-£20). Ideally spending £30-£60/£65 but needing at minimum to spend £30.

I'm mainly interested to see if Kenny sticks with this 3-5-2 formation or goes back to the 4-3-3.
--------Carroll----Suarez---------- --------Gerrard--Meireles---------- Johnson------Lucas---------Kelly ------Dagger--Skrtel--Carra------
Or
------------Carroll----------- Suarez-----------------Kuyt -------Gerrard--Meireles------- ------------Lucas------------ GJ---Dagger---Skrtel---Kelly

jus' sayin... Gerrard, Torres and Carragher all spent time on the sidelines in that period. Short of Gerrard getting sent off for maiming Torres v Chelsea, I don't think that's going to happen again. Also, Kenny is ten times the manager Hodgson will ever be. I wish we went with Kenny in the summer... Quote:I'm mainly interested to see if Kenny sticks with this 3-5-2 formation or goes back to the 4-3-3. I don't think we have the depth at the center of defence to continue with a formation with 3CB's. And he said that he picked that formation to counter 'specific threats' from Stoke. So I don't know if we'll see it again on a regular basis or if he's going to just play like that against more physical teams like Stoke, Wolves, etc.

Our squad is looking pretty weak at the moment. We definitely need a left back and a central midfielder who's going to fucking stand up.
Cole, Jovanovic, Poulsen, etc havent done much to justify their signings..

Aurelio, Johnson are both great at LB, and Kelly and Dagger can do a job there too.
We already have three great CMs, it's the least of our problems.

Johnson has been better at LB than at RB, but that will fade when he gets predictable again. Aurelio is acceptable, but he's not getting any younger and he's not getting regular game time. Kelly has been a star.
We need another winger, first and foremost.

Ashley Young would be good, but he'd prove to be rather expensive. I think he's quality though and I'm disappointed we got priced out of making a move for him four years ago.
I think that Eden Hazard would he ab appealing move, but again could be expensive. We should have made a move for him last summer.
I'd like to see if we could pick up Fabio Coentrao for around 10m. Left winger who can double as a left back for extra depth is very appealing.

We've both been linked with him for a while... he'll probably prefer to go to Arsenal, unless we pull off some miracle and finish top 4  We've been linked with Marin and Elia too

I like Marko Marin. Wouldn't mind him at the club. Elia I think would just turn into another Babel. He reminds me of Babel a few years back at Ajax.
I still like Coentrao. Perhaps Turan?

Fernando Llorente has said he turned down a last minute move to Liverpool after Liverpool representatives came to Bilbao.
