It had to be him. Yeah well there is the problem with putting a legend in charge. true in the case of Keegan but with Dalglish the guy has already won league titles as a manager, while Keegan produced some brilliant attacking teams at Newcastle he never produced a title... plus his last bout at Newcastle was cut short when he was getting them to be quite competitive, if Ashley had kept his hands out of it they would have been safe and wouldnt of got relegated

I apologize for any inconvenience over the next week or so but the shit Liverpool give out they have to cop some back.
Take it on the chin. This takes nothing away from a great Liverpool club, records are there to be broken. Come break ours.
I am going to sling some shit this way though.

I accept your challenge and we will win the race to 20 ;) I'd appreciate it if you kept it out of this thread though - I don't really expect you to but would be nice.

I am going to sling some shit this way though. This 100% I want it to go on record that I mean no disrespect to your clubs achievments and their tradition and I don't want to be seen as a cunt in the gloating that will ensue (away from here) until we get bored. Can't wait to see your response next season, the rivalry needed this to fire it back up, bring it on guys!

Quote:Footballers from both sides of Stanley Park forgot rivalry for one night on Sunday for Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones and his son Luca.
Luca was diagnosed with leukaemia last year. A donor was found but sadly the five-year-old's cancer came back in February and once again he is facing an incredibly difficult fight.
That's why the likes of Jamie Carragher, Joe Cole, Pepe Reina, Phil Neville, Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta went along to the Hilton in Liverpool for a charity dinner.
Money was raised through tickets and a silent auction at which guests could bid for memorabilia signed by Maradona, Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill, Charles Dickens, Nirvana, Pele, Lionel Messi and loads of other icons.
As well as collecting cash, the aim of the evening was to highlight the Anthony Nolan 'Give a Spit, Save a Life' campaign and how easy it is to become a donor by encouraging young men and women to take part in a simple spit test.
Brad told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's great to see so many people here from the club and Everton as well - they've shown great support.
"Things are tough, but Luca is doing his best to battle through and being a little soldier. We're hoping and praying this treatment works because unfortunately there are not too many things after this that can help him.
"This last year has put everything massively into perspective. Football has kind of taken a back seat but Luca is the most important thing in my life so I've got to make sure I do everything I can for him."
The Hilton was packed with footballers, the odd soap star, photographers from OK Magazine and entertainment including Paige from last year's X-Factor.
Despite the 2-0 defeat to Spurs earlier in the day there was a good turnout from the Liverpool dressing room, including Joe Cole and his wife Carly.
"When it's one of your mates, you turn up for them," said Joe. "Jonesy is trying to raise money for charity and we're all teammates and all in it together.
"Football is football and we all enjoy it but you can't put a price on your health and the health of your children and family. That's the main thing. This is life and I wish him and his family all the best.
"He's a good lad and we all feel for him and what's he's going through."
Everton's players heard about Luca's plight through Brad's international teammate Tim Cahill.
Phil Neville said: "It's a great cause. Tim with the Australia connection has told us a lot about it. There is a lot of rivalry between the two clubs but on a night like tonight we all join together for a good cause."
Brad has been supported through the last year by his partner Dani Lawrence, who recently ran a marathon in aid of Luca and Anthony Nolan.
"It's amazing how everyone has come to show their support tonight," said Dani. "Anthony Nolan have been so good to us that we just wanted to give something back."
Those who want to become a donor should visit anthonynolan.org for more information.
Brad added: "I think the wording of it - bone marrow transplant - deters people but if you do it through Anthony Nolan it's only a saliva sample and a questionnaire.
"If you get selected to be a donor there's no digging into bones or anything like that. You're just attached to a machine which filters your blood and gives good cells to the recipient. It's so easy to help save someone's life."

It would be good to be in the Europa League next season, but now we can focus directly on the league. Since when does 6th not get into Europa?

Only 5th is a guaranteed European spot. 6th and 7th depends on Cup Finals, which in this case went to Birmingham and Stoke. If Arsenal had won the Carling Cup, or if 2 sides from the top 5 had been in the FA cup final, 6th would have been enough.

The other way is if City had won the FA Cup but not finished in the top 4 which would mean 6th would get a EL spot asnd not the runner up of the cup.

Just thought I'd mention that Andy Carroll hasn't been picked in the squad for the U21 European Championships in Denmark.

Lucas scoops 2010-11 awardQuote:Lucas Leiva was today crowned the Standard Chartered Liverpool FC Player of the Season for 2010-11.
The Brazilian clinched the award after fans voted for their star man of the campaign on this website.
Lucas tallied an incredible 40 per cent of the 129,774 votes cast.
Dirk Kuyt was named as runner-up having amassed 25 per cent, with Pepe Reina third (10 per cent). Raul Meireles and Luis Suarez completed the top five.
2010-11 proved to be a watershed season for Lucas, who visibly grew in stature and confidence as the campaign progressed and he firmly established himself as one of Liverpool's most consistent performers.
The 24-year-old made a total of 47 appearances and though he mustered just one goal, it proved to be a spectacular one against Steaua Bucharest in the Europa League.
Upon being presented with the award at Melwood, Lucas told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I am very happy and really proud to have been picked by the fans.
"It shows they really appreciate the work I am doing for the team and I will remain the same - always giving 100 per cent in every single game and trying to achieve good things for this club, where I feel really good and want to be a winner.
"I think I am improving every single season, but of course this season has been special as an individual for me because I played with consistency. That's what I was looking for in the previous seasons."
He added: "I am really happy with the way I played and I would like to thank my teammates, without them I wouldn't get this kind of award, the staff for helping me every single day on the pitch to improve my abilities, and the fans because to be picked by them is really, really important for me."
The presentation of the award completes a turnaround in fortunes for Lucas, who by his own admission faced initial difficulties in trying to adapt to English football after arriving from Gremio in 2007.
Nonetheless, he believes he emerged a stronger player and person - something he proved on the pitch in 2010-11.
"I wouldn't have expected this (in my first season)," Lucas acknowledged. "The way I started my career at Liverpool wasn't the easiest, but as I have said before, I wouldn't change anything.
"The difficult times just made me stronger and stronger and I tried to improve all the time. That's what I am doing now.
"I am looking forward to next season and will try to come back better than I finished this season and try to help Liverpool to achieve good things.
"I would like to thank all the fans who voted for me. I am sure next season we will try to make all the fans happy and that's why we are here - to try and give them success." \:d/ \:d/ Totally deserved.

Sincerely Newcastle fans. Dear Newcastle Fans, Your club's owner doesn't give a flying fuck about what you think, so why should we? Sincerely, Liverpool Management. Yeah which is why he originally hired Kevin Keegan and sacked Sam Allardyce right. On top of that owners shouldn't be swayed by fans. They should make rational decisions based on the best interest of the club. Edited by guest: 26/5/2011 11:20:19 AM

We've been linked with about a million players already.
GK: Friedel LB: Enrique, Izzaguire, Coentrao, Warnock, Baines CB: Cahill, Jones, Vertonghen, Dann DM/CM/AM: Adam, Parker, Diego, M'Vila, Matuidi Wingers: Downing, Ayew, Marveaux, Hazard, Mata, Sanchez, Elia, Young Strikers: Aguero
Pretty much off the top of my head. It really is silly season
The ones of those who I think are definite possibilities are Enrique, Adam, Diego, Downing, Mata, Marveaux, Ayew, Jones. Not saying we'll sign all of them but I won't be surprised if any one of those arrives.
Personally I'd LOVE us to sign Coentrao.
-----------------Carroll------------- ----Mata--------------------Suarez---- -----------Gerrard----Meireles--------- ------------------Lucas------------- Coentrao---Skrtel----Carra---Johnson ------------------Reina------------
Wow. Of course maybe replace one of the CBs with a new signing but... wow.
Gives us quality subs too.
Dagger, Kelly, Aqua, Marveaux, Kuyt, Maxi, Adam. As an example.

It will be interesting to see how CA copes not being the focal point of a team.
 at linked with Aguero he may as well have stayed at Atletico if he goes to Liverpool.

I can't wait to see him back to full fitness next season. He's looked a bit lethargic but I remember from his Newcastle days, he's actually pretty quick, in terms of pace and feet.

This gave me lots of excitement.
