Who would you guy's like to see get game time against Toronto? My most wanted 11 (obviously won't start at the same time) -
GK - Gulacsi - Interested to see how he has developed after his time in Hull RB - McLaughlin - Haven't seen enough of him, looked good in NG from what i have seen CB - Wisdom - Was going to choose Kelly but don't think he is there yet. Young. CB - Agger - Should look at home in BR's system LB - Enrique - Could be vital for us this season if he can return to past form RCM- Adam - It's been awhile, i also think BR will use him as back up for Gerrard CM - Lucas - Hopefully he pulls through the few mins he plays, what a player LCM- Aquilani - I think he's quality, Gerrard - Lucas - Aquilani looks sexy. RW - Ibe - 16 and packing as much potential as RS this kid will be key to any NG success ST - Pacheco - Not much choice, literally last chance saloon but suits the system.. LW - Sterling - Needs to prove he's good enough for THIS year, think he will be loaned tho

Didn't get to watch the match but saw the extended highlights on LFC... Pacheco looked quite good, and statistically Shelvey and Aqua played well too. Glad Suso got a run and he showed some very neat touches, Lucas is back which is fantastic and Sterling was a handful. Good run out.
Absolutely no transfer news over the last few days though. Only thing I'm hearing about is Dempsey and Allen.

Pity ESPN weren't showing it or even Setanta - didn't notice anything during my channel surfs.... I've read the game was pretty ordinary - but what would you expect 1st time hit out with many young uns tried out... Heres a copy below from a supporters view at the game : It was a team effort and an attempt to materialize what the manager stands for. The ball control and passing were clearly occupying the minds of our players. It was so uncomfortable that felt kind of like fish out of water at times. But I guess it's all trying to get used to our news ways....The revolution won't happen overnight. The young players took it more seriously than the seniors. Yet, the issue that's looming is lack of leadership. When Charlie and Alberto (1st half) and Shelvey / Cole / Lucas (2nd falf) took over, it was like many players didn't know how to free themselves or what runs to make. It was rather positive that, at times, TFC couldn't get the ball from us. This achievement stuck with me, even though it happened only during 3 major possesion spells. It's happening. We'll witness a new approach. Take what you like from it. Damn it BB and I'm in the office grrrrrr ! Edited by M.L.: 23/7/2012 03:33:20 PMEdited by M.L.: 23/7/2012 03:34:50 PM

Some promising signs from the Toronto game, Sterling and Morgan both impressed me and we played some very tidy football retaining possession. Some of our movement looks very stilted, but it's early days yet.

Aqualani made 38 passes with 37 of them successful. I heard he had quite the game.

Spearing and Shelvey both had more impressive passing stats, but yes Aqua was quite good.
There's a website that had a a whole bunch of stats and stuff but I can't find it :(

It's all well and good to have 6 players with 100% pass completion and 90% pass completion for the game, but how many of those were 'effective' passes? I get the feeling that watching Liverpool this season is going to be boring.

Can we just cut to the chase and ban Suarez from speaking to the media this season? His latest comments have been given a few creative headlines again and it's just going to get more football fans offside.

The fact that "I am representing Uruguay and that's all that matters to me. I said before that the English press is what matters least to me." begets the headline "Suarez swipe at English Media" is a bit rich. The guy wants to focus on playing for Uruguay and the media are on a witch hunt.

Watched the game on LFC tv this morning. Happy overall with it, we played some nice stuff, kept the ball well... got let down at the back a few times, lack of movement meant we turned it over in bad areas, and pushing up high left space between backline and midfield sometimes.
Shelvey was excellent, MOTM for me, and Pacheco was great. He's been top notch so far in pre season, I think he'll get a bit of playing time this year which is good.
Lucas got another 25mins and was absolute beast. He's still flying in to tackles with no shyness which is great to see, I'm in awe of his mental strength, such a legend.
Adam's goal was nicely taken, he did well overall. Enrique's form is troubling though.
