Oh god. WF is going to fall to shit when someone picks up on the Suarez thing.
In any case, He has been charged which means he has a case to answer. He has not been found guilty. But that's how it will be inferred.
I'm amazed because the FA themselves said they could find no proof of anything. I still expect us to appeal and this to get kicked out.
Thank god I'm busy all day and can't get on, I don't wanna see the carnage on here.

Which clubs are eligible for the award? City, Everton, Liverpool and United?

Can not believe Imno has not posted this yet.... Quote:Lucas lands prestigious gong15th Nov 2011 - Latest News Lucas Leiva's impressive form during 2011 saw him crowned the North-West's Premier League Player of the Year on Monday night. The Brazilian scooped the award at an MBNA sponsored ceremony held at Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester. The gong was in recognition of excellence both on and off the pitch. The Reds midfielder has been on international duty with his country over the past week and played the full 90 minutes in Brazil's 2-0 friendly success over Egypt last night. Following the win, Lucas tweeted: "Well done everyone for the victory. It is always important to finish the year winning." http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/lucas-lands-prestigious-gong

I assume it was one of his usual all over the park displays, nutmegging players everywhere, beating his man, but this time he added goals? :P First and last were great goals. Both from outside the box. Second was off his shoulder. Third was a good header, but he was unmarked. I honestly thought it was the game of his life. He was involved in everything.

It's 4-0 now and Suarez has all of them. Best game he's ever played.

Quote:But, where do you draw the line, one of these games coming up is in the cup, do you change the fixture list depending on if is a tough game or not? No, when the London police advice against a game being played on X date it should be pushed back, not brought forward so close to another game. It's just common sense. There are plenty of other dates the game could have been scheduled for without this being a problem. And as Kenny pointed out, the sponsors should be livid when clubs are forced to play a second-string line-ups due to scheduling problems and detracting from any possible prestige in the competition.

I agree that league cup games against lower league opposition isn't the same as playing someone in the top 4. But, where do you draw the line, one of these games coming up is in the cup, do you change the fixture list depending on if is a tough game or not?
The toughness of the game shouldn't be enough to change the fixtures, just luck of the draw.

And that's a little different to having a game brought FORWARD against a top4 side just 48 hours after playing another top 4 side. It's bullshit.

Leeds and Aldershot (even after good opponents) are a little different to Chelsea after Man City especially when we are playing to win the Carling cup (if we like it or not) as we need to get the winning mentality back at Liverpool

It's not about Fergie but he would be said to be having a whinge if he said anything about the fixture list. Valid point or not.
Edited by busbybabe: 11/11/2011 03:54:17 PM It depends what he is whinging about. this? Valid point, sure. Other things? Again, depends. When have you had to play a game after only 48 hours?

I don't care about how many games in sixteen days. I care about having only 48 hours between fixtures. Have United had to do that this season? I don't think so, but correct me if I'm wrong.
It's ridiculous they scheduled it in the same week as Europa games.
It's not like the game is immovable, like he says, if Stoke had've won then the game WOULD have been moved.
He has a completely valid point, and if it was United in this situation I'd say it's ridiculous too. Just like it is for City as well. So don't try to make this about Fergie

Thoughts on Kenny whinging about the fixtures?
You guys have to play 4 games in 16 days from the 20th November - 5th December.
United have twice played 4 games in 10 days this season. Plus a trip to Portugal in the middle of one. But when Fergie says anything he gets rubbished.

Quote:Luis Suarez was the man expected to need time to settle when he and Andy Carroll arrived at Liverpool in a £57.8million double swoop in January. Yet he hit the ground running, while Carroll is still struggling to find his feet. Suarez’s dazzling form for Liverpool is in total contrast to Carroll’s woes and the England striker has found himself in and out of the team as he struggles with injuries and inconsistency. While some Kopites mutter under their breath about the wisdom of spending £35m on Carroll, Suarez still believes he can come good. He says the big Geordie has been unlucky and insists they can still make their partnership work for Liverpool. “Playing alongside a player of Andy’s quality, who’s big, skilful, who brings the ball down so well, makes it easy for a striker to play with him,” said the Uruguayan. “What happened though, was that Andy had the bad luck to be injured for several games and when he came back from that, he picked up another injury. It was difficult for him to get himself into the team because just when Andy came back, the team was playing well and the manager didn’t know who he could drop. “Now having trained and after a good pre-season for Andy with his team-mates, the more training sessions we have together, he will be better. “We’ll get a much better understanding of each other and that can only be good for the team.” Suarez, 24, instantly replaced Fernando Torres as the fans’ Kop idol and his four league goals and two assists do not come close to illustrating how important he is to Liverpool. He is so happy he says he wants to remain at Liverpool beyond the five-year deal he signed when he arrived in his £22.8million switch from Ajax after previously admitting a wish to play for Barcelona. “I’ve just started a phase of my career which I always dreamed about and wanted to do, which is to play for Liverpool,” he said. “I have five years left on my contract and I think beyond that, I’m already thinking about staying many more years at Liverpool. “It’s a club I like. I feel very good about being here, about being in the city. “I feel very pleased. It would be difficult to match the atmosphere, hunger for success and glory that this club has at another team.” Suarez’s pledge is a massive vote of confidence in Kenny Dalglish and the South American wants to repay the Liverpool boss’s faith in him. He says he can barely understand Dalglish’s Glaswegian accent with his limited English, but has picked up enough to understand how highly he rates the new custodian of his famous No.7 shirt. “The truth is there’s not much conversation with Kenny because of the language barrier, which makes it hard for me,” Suarez added. “But he is the one who has given me confidence. He was the one who had confidence in me. He was the one who said ‘I want Suarez’. That sort of belief is something you repay when you play. “When a coach gives you confidence, you can give your very best back. “If you don’t have faith in your manager, it’s very difficult to play well and I think Kenny has a lot of confidence in me.” Suarez shares Liverpool’s hunger for the Premier League and says it is his “little dream” to win the title. He accepts that isn’t going to happen this season and feels a more realistic target is a top-four spot and a Champions League place. The former Ajax star is desperate to play in Europe’s elite club competition and says not playing in the Europa League this season can help Liverpool achieve that goal. “I do not wish to belittle the Europa League and I do think that Liverpool should be in Europe,” said Suarez, whose nickname is El Pistolero – the Gunslinger. “But I think not playing in the Europa League this year will really do us some good. “We can really focus on the Premier League and move up the table as high as we can. “We always dream about being Premier League champions, but we know it’s a very difficult league to win. “It’s very competitive and a lot of teams want to become champions. “But I think we have a quality squad. We trust in our manager and we trust our team-mates. “We’re confident in our ability and Liverpool can aim to finish in the Champions League positions. “And there is always that dream, that little dream, about actually winning the Premier League.” Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news...#ixzz1dFuAc0kX :)
