The Aussie's will probably bowl NZ out before lunch tomorrow, for around 250ish. Australia will be bowled out for 103, then proceed to lose by 10 wickets.

Oh dear Daniel Vettori. Bat so well and then go and run yourself out for no reason at all.
EDIT: Now Siddle gets Reece Young for 2. 7-256

That makes Warner the 6 consecutive Aussie batsmen out for single figures when opening on debut after Hughes, Rogers, Jaques, Hussey & Elliott.

Pretty stupid run by Vettori. Should have not run, and waited. He deserved 100, really. I've been unimpressed by the two new quicks, Pattinson really didn't do well against NZ's #11. Every quick bowler knows the route 1 approach to tailenders. Quick and hard at their big toes!!!

Ponting nearly gets run out the immediate next delivery. Clarke, hits the ball right back at the stumps, had the bowler gotten a finger onto it, Ponting would have been 1 and a bit foot out of the crease. Then the next ball Clarke has an LBW appeal turned down. Next ball, Clarke hits another sweet straight drive for 4 to get off the mark. Both sides having their weet bix during tea...except Khwaja...

Ponting gets 50. 52 off 95 deliveries. Lovely back foot cover drive to bring it up, too.

Reckon that was more than a bit plumb myself. Reckon if it goes to umpires call, they shouldn't lose the appeal, coz I mean, if you think about it, he was right to appeal that.

Players trudging off for bad light, if there's one thing that really shits me, it's bad light. Doesn't even look that dark.

Just a joke and they reckon they want to play tests under lights. No chance with the half arsed rules they have. And by Christ new Zealand are a boring slow side to watch in the field. Their bowlers just amble back and they would have been 10 overs short. Not to mention they just bowl wide shit and hope the batsmen get themselves out.

Quote:Australia cricket great Sam Loxton, an Invincibles teammate of Don Bradman, dies at the age of 90 By staff writers AAP December 03, 2011 10:57AM Cricket great Sam Loxton, a member of the Australia team that went through the 1948 Test tour of England undefeated, has died. Loxton, 90, died overnight in Queensland, with Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young announcing the news ahead of the third day of the trans-Tasman Test in Brisbane. "Cricket Aust regrets to advise we have been informed Sam Loxton, one of the Invincibles, died overnight in Qld," Young posted on Twitter. Loxton was an all-rounder who made his debut against India in 1948 and was part of the Invincibles tour, appearing in three Tests. He was active in politics after cricket, and was also a Test selector between 1972 and 1981. Loxton also played 41 VFL matches for St Kilda, kicking 114 goals before switching to cricket in 1946. Radio commentator Jim Maxwell led the tributes. "Vale Sam loxton a great character and cricket personality. Invincible for ninety impressive and strongly spoken years," Maxwell posted on Twitter. A minute's silence was held before the first session on day three of the first Test between Australia and New Zealand at the Gabba. http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/australia-cricket-great-sam-loxton-an-invincibles-teammate-of-don-bradman-dies-at-the-age-of-90/story-e6frf3g3-1226212911490?from=public_rss

Can see Haddin getting 3 figures here. I think they'll try get to 500 then declare (lunch tomorrow). That'll give them a lead of ~200 - reasonable to bowl too, and on a pitch that's just starting to break up It'll make for a very interesting 5th day. New Zealand are starting to struggle, I can't see them bowling us out atm.
