What an innings, carried the Thunder scoring a third of their runs.

Football can only dream of BBL's level of advertising and media support and yet the crowd was only 23,496.

T20 is completely different to test cricket, but back to back centuries is still back to back centuries, the kid must be full of confidence, all good shit for boxing day!

You often get less than that at the MCG for ODIs and Day 4/5 of test matches. Plus there are two Melbourne teams, and not everyone is going to go and see both sides play.

The only time you'll be seeing 70,000 at the cricket this summer is Day 1 Boxing Day. Yeah the return of Warne you'd have thought would have attracted a larger than usual crowd, but other than that it's just the same shit as last year with a different name and two extra teams. Last year the only time Victoria got above 20,000 was for the opening game against Queensland which got about 30,000. 23,000 is just a pretty average crowd. You know you've plunged to new depths when you're trying to justify your own crowds by comparing them to Aus Domestic Cricket crowds:lol:

I can see why this league is seen to be a bit of a joke by alot of people, but you can't escape the fact that for all the hype, the Sydney Sixes and Melbourne Stars' inaugral attendances have been dissapointing.

Yeah but it's pretty sad if you're trying to make out that the A-league is doing really well because it's getting as good or better crowds than the Big Bash, that's not much of an achievement.

Really just saying that the two leagues can be comparable in terms of crowd figures.

Pretty sure what Funky was trying to say is if you think having as good/better crowds than the cricket is a great result then you can't be aiming too high.

4 matches of the Big Bash. 4 "outsiders" have got up. Assuming the Hurricanes don't fuck this up

Disappointed for Khawaja. It was hard for him, basically always being opener.

Drop the future in Khawaja and continue with Ponting who is set to retire anyway. Makes sense.
