RedKat wrote:Warne was never really built like an 'elite athlete' either. When you're the best in your field people tend to forgive your shortcomings. I mean, Warne could show up hungover and missing a leg and people would still be stoked just to be playing with the guy. I don't know that the same can be said about Cosgrove.

No, not really. Because Cosgrove isn't good enough to just be like "tah dah, here I am" and on top of that it looks unprofessional and sets a bad example to kids. Especially ones trying to lose weight.

Shane Watson to take an indefinite break from bowling. Hopefully means a move back to opening the batting.

What's all this shit with Shane Warne? Cricket Australia set up a new franchise-based competition and then get upset when the players show a bit of passion?

11.mvfc.11 wrote:Threw? A more appropriate term would be lob. Marlon's actions on the day were far worse, blatantly cheating by holding a batsman trying to run, and the throw of his bat was highly petulant, and one of the worse things you could do in cricket. What if the bat hit Warne or McKay? Far worse repercussions than if that ball had struck him ANYWHERE. Yea fuck you Marlon. 8-[

Yeah, Marlon throwing his bad is ridiculous. What's his punishment exactly?

This Warne v Marlon seems a bit lame to me...dare I say contrived. Perfect way to drum up some interest...marketer engineered if you ask me.

I'm not saying Marlon Samuel is innocent at all...Throwing your bat is a ridiculous over reaction, and incredibly dangerous. But it wouldn't have happened at all if Warne hadn't decided to act like an absolute dick in the first place. The sledging maybe, but throwing, and hitting him with the ball, is crossing the line. The original Hussey/Marlon incident looks like a complete misunderstanding anyway. My first impression was that Samuels just tried to have a bit of fun, and it was completely overblown by Hussey/Warne. Warne deserved the fine/Suspension, and Samuels deserves whatever punishment he gets. Joffa wrote:This Warne v Marlon seems a bit lame to me...dare I say contrived. Tbh, if you take an issue with Warne throwing the ball like that you're being a princess. It's not like Warne pegged it at him

Remember he's also playing with a bung wrist. OK.

If Phil Hughes gets a 100 he'll become the first ever Australian to score a 100 on his ODI debut and only the 8th player worldwide to do it
