McCullum is crazy good atm. Forget Australia/South Africa, New Zealand taking on the Aussies is the series I want to see right now.

Imagine batting for nearly 2 days. BMac must be f*cked. 20 runs shy of the highest score by a kiwi ever and subsequently the first kiwi to score 300.

Surprisingly 'mature' innings from him too. If the old McCullum had batted two straight days, he'd be knocking on Brian Lara's record . Hope he gets the 300, full deserved.

Pretty insane game between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka last night, Sri Lanka recovered from 67/8 to post 180 and Bangladesh went from 114/2 to 167 all out in the chase

I can see this being a draw unless we crumble in the first innings.

Top order fails....again
V England 1st Innings in Brisbane - 5/100 , 1st Innings in Perth 5/143, 1st Innings in Melbourne 5/112, 1st Innings in Sydney 5/97. 1st Innings at port Elizabeth 4/112 and this innings here. Can't keep doing that & hoping teams let us off the hook.
Up to Warner now ( can't believe I'm saying this) and hopefully Lyon can hang around for a while. Morkel gave him a nice battering last night & after bowling what felt like a gazzilion overs still survived.

RedKat wrote:What we learnt from this test
- A top order with Marsh and Doolan is too weak. Australia's top order is shit and when Haddin and Smith dont fire Australia dont make a score
- Johnson not at his best means Australia doesnt have a world class bowling attack. This attack never was the best in the world and Im happy it was finally shown up. It was the worlds most in form bowler with two decent seamers and an okay spinner.
- Dale Steyn is still the best bowler in the world.
And in general that second innings score card makes for horrible reading  Australia gets found out when Johnson isn't trying to take every batsmans head off  Pretty much if the pitch offers nothing, neither does Australia

Had our batsmen got the runs they were meant to get it would've petered out into a draw.

Be interesting to see what the CT pitch is like, can see it being quite green after what the second test produced. -PB

Steyn is so damn good to watch when the is bowling. Mitch Johnson is nothing compared to him. Without the pitch assisting Mitch, he can't do much. Steyn some how seems to find that extra bit and create things.
I think South Africa found out quickly that if you take out Mitch from going for your heads and just trying to scare you, then he gets lost a bit.

Don't think there's been a batsman since to make batting look so good. Maybe Martyn, but Mark Waugh was just something else.

So after all the shit the Aussie team copped they finish day 1 in almost an unloseable position. One of the best innings of Clarke's career. Hopefully the bowlers can do their job and we can get the win

 Sounds like that trick in Cricket 07 where you could get the spinners to bowl rain-makers that landed square on the batsmen's head.
