Yeah, the fact that its a Demo is the key point for mine. Like Nico said, there is promise there.

Just listen to it for pedal clicks, amp hum etc...if they're there, you know they're planning to put together more and better stuff soon.

Can probably tell that from the press release stating that they've written 5 songs and are planning on writing another 15 tbh.:p

they'll need more than 15 to make an album...probably only half of the songs they write will be 'keepers'.

Some big festival announcements coming up. Soundwave on Wednesday (tomorrow midnight hopefully) and BDO first announcement on the 30th.

Should have said "more than 15 more"...10 songs is going to be a very short album, especially given how short in duration some spineshank songs are.

Yeah, but I don't agree with your "half are going to be crap" theory. 12/13 out of 20 seems more likely, which is about average record length.

Looking forward to the Soundwave announcement, have a good feeling about it.

They don't really suit Soundwave, they seem to only go for American bands for some reason as well. BDO is a possibility but metal seems to be less and less on BDO and they already have a headliner. I'd like them too but I'm not expecting too much.

Soundwave should be special. The way its progressed the last 2 years, I'm expecting something nice...

Yeah, been disappointing with the names thrown up for the BDO so far. Not expecting a metal band on there at all, which is even more disappointing.

The Verve would be good. Actually, that would be awesome. I think they are a decent chance too...

Need to look into The Verve a bit more, only know the one song. (Gee, see if you can guess which one that might be:p)

Oasis overall maybe, but there's not much better than Oasis on their first two albums. Absolutely love Morning Glory.

Urban Hymns is amazing though. I actually recommend that album to everyone.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Oasis, they have some great melodies. It's just I find The Verve amazing.

Could be both. NIN main stage, LoG metal stage. NIN are over-rated anyway, hope they're not on it. Promoter also said that there would be a big Punk Band on there final tour doing the show, make of that what you will.

Sex Pistols? :p NIN would headline though, and LoG could easily headline metal. Clashes would mean I'd have to go to side shows...

NIN are pretty good. They aren't really my type of stuff, but what they do, they do damn well.

As horribly poor as they would be, being able to claim that I'd seen the Sex Pistols live would be pretty awesome. Ah clashes, the bane of all Music Festivals...There aren't going to be many sideshows, only a couple of bands, and possibly in Sydney only.

How you know that? This year they had heaps, and usually there was 4 or 5 bands at each one. Worst comes to worst (or best comes to best?) I'll do the double of Brissy on Saturda and Sydney on Sunday.

EDIT: Lamb of God are doing a small tour in England with Dimmu Borgir which finishes a week before the first Soundwave. Perfect Timing [-o< [-o< [-o<
