Their new album is fucking rubbish. If their previous two hadn't been so shit, nobody would have liked it. It was too loud, poorly mastered, poorly mixed and the equipment wasn't of a standard that you would expect of a world class band.

I'm fairly sure that is exactly the same drum kit, EQed differently. The whole "wall of sound" kind of thing that they've gone for is completely out of left field and doesn't work. They could take a lesson from Rage Against The Machine tbph. There's a good two or three pages around page 30-40 of this topic of Nico, Funky Munky and I discussing this album exclusively.

Personally I don't like Metallica, or any metal nowadays, don't mind Maiden or a bit of Megadeth, but even those two I find it hard to take their music seriously. I mean, the focal point of Maiden's live performances is a 30 foot zombie called Eddy. :-k
