I've been to the last 5 BDO's and they've gone downhill every year.

Looking about the Interweb today and came across this great old school Oi! band- The Business. They have a whole album dedicated to Football called Harcore Hooligan.
They're on BYO Records who are set up by The boys from Youth Brigade. Check out the other bands on the site to, they're all pretty good.

The Business are awesome. England 5, Germany 1 has been a classic drinking song amongst me and my mates for years now.

Who cares about the rest of that Thrice vid? the chicks in the screencap at the start are hot. rocknerd wrote:buddha69 wrote:BDO will be shit this year.

If even two of Deftones, Rammstein, Blink and Tool come to fruition it's going to be awesome. Though it could be APC rather than Tool.

My Eagle - Children Collide Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Does anyone know of a site/sites that list albums released/incoming this year? I've got a list of Metal releases this year, but looking for other genres, specifically more Hardcore/Punk releases.

Ok, so I downloaded A Thousand Suns. On the whole, not a bad album. But another on the list of "things rick rubin's fucked up". It was kind of like they were trying to recreate old Linkin Park...without a guitarist. If New Divide was anything to go by it was such a promising offering, but then there's all this electro-rock crap through the album that just doesn't fit with Bennington's vocals and it's all not quite right.
I really enjoyed Wretches And Kings but thought that it was a bit lacking in power from a guitar melody. And an over-use of samples from Mario Savio and Martin Luther King jr. make it sound more...tacky.
Really enjoyed the tracks When They Come For Me, Blackout, Wretches And Kings and The Catalyst.

Even Rammstein are getting ordinary. Blink would be a laugh as they stopped making fun poppy albums and went with that narcasistic Emo crap on their last two releases sounding more like Boxcar then they did blink. Deftones would be cool but seriously old as well these days. You may as well join me at Bon Jovi. Lets see the likes of some real Alternative and new bands getting in there. Lets see Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian as headliners and who ever else there is that are not immediantly in front of me. Lets take BDO back from the Metros and City Chic populose and return it to the outcasts who built it in the first place.

Lets take BDO back from the Metros and City Chic populose and return it to the outcasts who built it in the first place. Rammstein always put on an incredible concert. With the flames and the massive guitars and the massive mosh. Blink you just have to go to becuase they're blink. Having not been old enough to see them previously it's a chance I'll have to take given that they're a band I grew up on. Deftones are a different kettle of fish, they'll be a different sound to what we're used to without Chi involved and going off how heavy the bass was in their last album I think it could be very good. That said, they're not a band known for their live gigs. Bon Jovi I wouldn't go to if you paid me. Arctic Monkeys started out so well. But now I can't fucking stand them. Kasabian are pretty mediocre live because their studio work is so complex. I don't really want to go to a festival full of indie kids either.

Soundwave 2nd Announcement.
Joining Iron Maiden and Queens Of The Stone Age as our headliners is ONE DAY AS A LION, the explosive collaboration between Rage Against The Machine front-man Zack de la Rocha and former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore. Their set at the Fuji Festival this year was the undisputed highlight of the festival and we are proud to have secured not 1, but 5 rare appearances by this artist. Rounding out our new arrivals are triumphant recent visitors BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and BRING ME THE HORIZON; horror punk killers, THE MURDERDOLLS; legendary metal monster DIMMU BORGIR making their Australian debut; punk rock gods MILLENCOLIN presenting their seminal album Pennybridge Pioneers (and more); prog rock’s finest flag fliers COHEED & CAMBRIA; and a band whose amazing live shows needs little introduction to Australian audiences, THE AMITY AFFLICTION. Add to that SILVERSTEIN, FUCKED UP, FEEDER, H2O, SAXON, THE ROCKET SUMMER, WE THE KINGS and you have an announcement worthy of being its own festival!

Only really interested in seeing Coheed and Dimmu, but an epic 2nd announcement in terms of quality of bands. Surprised One Day As A Lion is a headliner.

Saxon as in Old school power metal heroes Saxon? That'll be mad fun. Stoked for Murderdolls and Silverstein.
Dimmu Borgir would be awesome, but their new song sounds like arse and they've lost their original clean vocalist.
Will catch Bullet and BMTH if nothing else is on. Have a feeling i'm going to have a shit ton of clashes, need to save up for Sideshows.

Would Like to See: Stone Sour Asking Alexandria BMTH Dimmu Borgir Protest The Hero Gang of Four The Gaslight Anthem
If, somehow. The timetables lineup and I have no clashes of the above. I will laugh so much.

Edited by Nico: 17/9/2010 10:05:49 AM I can see Saxon doing side shows with Maiden. One i'll be happy to miss. Milencolin would be awesome though. I just wonder if all these 40+ year old punk rockers can really hold any crediability anymore. Still love their stuff of old.
