Considering Morris made two try saving tackles this is a pretty funny comment. Your probably a dragons supporter :d Still doesn't bring enough. Roar Bris its origin get over it - jennings should have just been put on report if at all, ref should have got both captains in as you would and warn that next player cause's anything then he's in the Bin. Pearce was accounting for himself very well I thought v's Thugday

He wasn't helped by Uate constantly rushing up and inside and always getting beaten  His form warranted the callup, and I don't think he did anything to warrant being dropped. In fact unless there are injuries I don't think there is any reason to change anything, players wise, for game 2. The 2 players I wasn't sure about were Pearce and Farah, but thought they were both excellent, especially Farah.

To be honest I have no problem with a third man in like what Thaiday and what Lewis did last night. I know its origin and its more leniant but I don't think the refs explained themselves very well with this decision. Jennings wasn't 3rd man in he was one of the last. But the thing is he lined someone up 40 metres away and tried to hit someone who had no idea what was going on. It was incrediably reckless.

well thats about all he was capable of PB but he was far more dangerous when he tried to get some understandable words out of his mouth during after match interviews  Oh the days of the real battles and characters of Origin I miss it so  sydcro well you'll be happy finally having a decent coach thankfully we drew first blood vsing our old boss - goes to show a change is as good as a holiday still cant get over Dessie having no hair  Uate was a real prob wide defensively so true Morris was under the pump more so especially covering but I don't recall any go forward from him. I also was impressed Pearce and Farrah stepped up to the plate they'll be better next game - and this is where Carney should feel better having the 1st game done I expect he to be more confident Game2 then we have more spur of the moment creativity I hope. Wouldn't mind seeing Watmough called back in though. We are closer - less mistakes the run has to come to an end sooner or later but this has to be done over 2games not just 1 o:) ! Edited by m.l.: 24/5/2012 04:19:18 PM Will Ricky stick with the team is the real question. If it was me I'd change a few players around. Really thought Tariq Sims deserved to be there but he is out for the year now. On last nights game I thought we were very flat for the firt 20 minutes. Farah was running rings around us. With the Quality we have if we can click I'd say we would blow you guys off the park. But it's origin and anything can happen.

So T-Rex is set to be out for Games 2 and 3, which almost guarentees a recall for Watmough, which I am happy about, just wish he was replacing Ben Creagh and not Williams.
Tony Williams also set to sign for the Bulldogs apparently to be announced over the weekend :d

Plus they'll keep Buhrer as a bench option because of his versatility in the pack. I'm gonna put my Bulldogs cap on and say they should pick Josh Reynolds. I would've picked him over Buhrer for Game 1 anyway. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 25/5/2012 02:21:31 PM

I think it should strictly be for the 1st junior/amateur club you play a whole season for. For most of them it will be when they are in the under 6's. The 1st senior side crap just makes it confusing and by making it 1st the whole season at a junior/amateur club you play for you cut out all the foreign professionals switching their national allegiances so that they can play State of Origin.

I think they way the game has changed in regards to wooing players to play for either state is the problem. I don't have a problem with Petro, Inglis,Uate, etc. who have a huge passion for the state that they play with. I have a problem with trying to essentially bribe players to come play with this state because of success or money. Something like Tamou who has stated he is only doing it because of the money, there will be many more like him come the next 10 years. This is what has to change.

How on earth can you not have a problem with Inglis, who according to the rules is ineligible for Queensland. But then have a problem for Tamou who is eligible for NSW.

How do the rules actually work at the moment? What happens of for some reason your first ever game happens to be playing for a NSW club playing a match in Queensland

From my own experience, my cousin was on the way to a professional career in league when a shoulder injury cut it short. He was born in NSW and moved to Qld when he was 10. Played his first senior game in Qld, but call him a Queenslander and he'll punch you in the nose. If you move when you're a kid like, I can see how you are move inclined to want to play for the state you moved too, but AFAIK, Inglis played senior football (over the age of 16) in NSW. I would thought by 16 he'd know which side he was on. And 100% in think Tamou should not be able to play for NSW, just like Brad Thorn should not have played for Qld.

It's the fact he is running out representing Australia that gets my blood boiling. If any of you guys watched the footy show Sterlo summed it up perfectly for me last night.

Quote: Qld govt commits to new stadium in Rockhampton if CQ wins NRL expansion bid Written by: Tony Harper Central Queensland’s bid to join the National Rugby League has received a boost with the state government confirming it will build a compliant stadium. CQ bid chief executive Denis Keeffe said he and bid chairman Geoff Murphy met new Queensland Minister for Sport Steve Dickson last week. Keeffe said Tuesday: “Minister Dickson delivered this great news to us personally: ‘If the CQ NRL Bid acquires a NRL License, the Government will provide the compliant stadium, and you can guarantee this to the NRL – it will happen – it is written in stone, Minister Dickson said last week.” Queensland Premier Campbell Newman had promised, while in opposition, to support a taxpayer-funded stadium in Rockhampton should the bid be successful in gaining a place in the NRL. The Australian Rugby league Commission has not confirmed a schedule for expansion but the hopeful cities expect two teams to be added within the next three seasons. Keeffe meanwhile said the government would be providing a stadium but the team would need to rent it. “I want to stress the difference to “provision” as opposed to “gifting” because a small minority of the Central Queensland public think that the Government is gifting this stadium to the future CQ NRL club,”said Keeffe. “This is absolutely wrong and anyone who propagates this misinformation is ill-informed. The CQ NRL Club will become the anchor or primary tenant and will pay significant rental costs to hire the stadium for NRL fixture games. That will account for 12 to 15 NRL games per year. “It would be expected that another 12 to 20 major events would use this stadium annually in its primary configuration.” He said other major sporting organisations including the QRL, QRU, ARU and FFA are “very interested in the developments here in CQ relative to a new and international standard facility.” http://sportbizinsider.com.au/news/category/stadia-and-infrastructure/qld-govt-commits-to-a-news-stadium-in-rockhampton-if-cq-wins-nrl-expansion-bid/

A little surprised by this Campbell has been making a lot of cutbacks lately. But anyway the next expansion has to include WA and another Qld team.

Seriously Ben Barba is a fucking freak. He;s got to the point where him beating 5 defenders, running the length of the field to score or set up a try is just the norm. Watching him on TV is one thing, but watching him live is something else, just amazing.
