Josh Dugan apparently set to be sacked by Canberra today.

No surprises there. Read in the paper today that other players would consider resigning from the club if he wasn't sacked. According to some sources, he's the biggest douche, thinks he's top dog, constantly shows up late to training, hungover, or just misses it completely etc. Apparently this 'drinking on the rooftop' whilst he's injured is the latest in the long line of discipline problems he's had since joining the Raiders.

Apparently Penrith and Brisbane are interested in signing him - I dare say it's a risk given his injury and disipline history.

Ben Barba is supposedly back at Bulldogs training this week, too. Apparently the CEO of the 'Dogs picked him up personally from his rehab center on the Northern Beaches. They reckon he could be back playing within 2-4 weeks. Good news for the Bulldogs.

What a joke re barber - the world is ending scenarios just on 2wks ago and having been in rehab for only that time he's on the road to recovery - what a bloody beat up.

The script for the nrl start couldn't have been better with all the dramas :lol: but at least its better than the other egg ball game :p

How exactly is it a joke? He still won't be back playing for a bit, these predicitons of him coming back in Round 4 are way off, he won't be back until he's medically cleared to play. Him coming back to training and getting back into a day to day routine is all part of his rehab.

It'll be longer than 2-4 weeks. The media has assumed that him leaving the rehab center = rehab over and he'll be back playing in 2 weeks. Not going to happen.

Reports Dugan has been sacked with a press conference called for 1:45pm.

Thats why I said its a joke sydcro - having gambling/drinking ? problems for a start 2wks in rehab is nothing, I just find it laughable the australian public had to see all the press over this guy and the out pouring of support and now he needs football as part of the remedy sorry mate its just laughable but I know you'll argue the point.
Apart from needing to grow up - more so he needs to come to terms mentally I presume by the hardship of a relationship break up being away from your kids and this I know can break anyone and take alot of adjustment time but I'm sorry that I think more so he needs to stay in a boot camp for 6mths min then he may have a chance to really reform - oh hang on its $$$ for the Dogs/nrl having him back earlier for once he's back on the paddock gate takings will be as projected and whoa watch the reformed benny barba after the hard ship of 2wks in rehab and importantly the day to day routine amongst his fellow high iq play mates whallah he's cured and what a remarkable man he is I can hear ray hadley boom from the radio LOL.....

Been confirmed that Dugan's contract has been terminated effective immediately and Blake Ferguson has been handed a $10,000 fine.

Dugan apparently won't be de-registered and so is free to sign with any other club.

Alot of Eels fans are feeling the burn.

A highlight of every nrl season seeing the eels burn on the ladder :d - Sticky will get them farfar more competitive thats for sure going to be interesting to see how they go.

The problem for Parra is that to win big games they're going to need both Sandow and Hayne on fire, and not just 1 like on Thursday night. Sandow was sensational while Hayne did absolutely nothing. That's not going to be good enough in the end imo.

What an effort on Friday night. After all the defence and injuries to come away with the two points is great.

Still think it will be a tough season for the broncos. They played better than I expected, but they still only beat one of the wooden spoon favourites. Hodges injury is a huge blow, anyone who has seen him up close can tell this is the best pre season he has ever had. The halves are both controlling players who want to run the team, with neither being massively creative or explosive. Gone are the days of Brisbane having a handful of the best players. Hodges and Thaiday are the only world class players they have left.

On the other hand, Melbourne have proven they are still the best, the dogs and rabbitohs have shown they will challenge again, the Titans look to be benefiting from letting Prince leave and the eels have shown they will at least be competitive this season. The warriors have massive problems.

Been a long time coming Bris finally had the disadvantage of a near on SOO squad. Hodges and Thaiday more as world class thugs ;)
