NSW or QLD it doesn't matter, clearly protection the interests of Origin as a whole over player safety.
-PB Origin has always been judged by a different criteria than club games. Throwing a punch in a club game will get you weeks. Throw a punch in Origin and you get a medal. And rightly so. No rules should be the only rule for Origin. Woohoo!

Interesting to see the rudimentary reaction of human behaviour with the benefits of cheap tickets, just like how the commoners went to campbelltown last weekend The stands are packed tonight at penrith with 20 dollar tickets

Good to get another win. :d
The refs really lost control in the second half. Still not sure what was wrong with McGuires tackle. :?
This two referee system is such a joke, how you can have one ref a metre away from a tackle call out six again only to be overruled by some clown 20 metres away. (While they both missed the second marker not being square). :x
What a funny season, we really should be higher than what we are at the moment. Yet we're still going along quite nicely. Could only imagine where we'd be if we didn't have such a muppet for a coach.
Congrats to Ben Hunt, what a star. :d

[EDITED] Would it be bad to say that I miss Harrigan? Just ditch the second ref "in the pocket" and make the linies more accountable imo. -PB

This, so much. I'm convinced that being a top grade touch judge is one of the best gigs in sport. They rarely have to make decisions and are usually backed up by the video ref anyway. So if the centre refs are making $80k or more per year (guesstimate), surely they're bringing home half that?? Pretty sweet weekend gig.

Why they can't flag late/high tackles and other off the ball behavior like in football is beyond me. I have barely ever seen a touch judge make a call that led to a try being given or taken away, its always the video ref they'd consult. -PB

Was under the impression the moment one of the club medicos/water runner raises their hand with an injured player the refs are forced to stop play? One of the Burgess boys went down, the tigers make a break medico instantly raises his hand and is ignored. 30 seconds later Burgess gets up and hobbles off. Disgraceful behavior.

Bit of a scrappy game, but thank goodness we won. I'd forgotten how good the feeling is. Game 1 was one of the best games ever, though.

Game was a shocker, I nearly fell asleep. Brick wall defending by both teams, QLD looked impotent for once in attack, NSW even more so. In the end just happy to win again.

Just sums up state of origin. The game had no quality, but was still one of the most exciting sporting events I've ever seen

I went to bed for the socceroos instead of watching orogin. At the time I was pretty upset that I could miss a game like the first one, but after hearing about the game I'm happy with my decision

I watched 15 minutes. Of the 15 minutes 3 minutes was sport and the rest was 26 fully grown 'professionals' holding each other's jerseys like they actually intended on punching on.

#Disgraceful Yep. Don't see that in the Super League, so much faster when it comes to play the ball. That amount of staying on a player and flopping would be a penalty every tackle in England. -PB

Average game, agree game 1 far better - the hype far outweighs the game now but breaking the winning streak is better for the game overall. I'm glad stayed up to see a generation of young blue supporters finally see a win LOL....... Thaiday  couldn't happen to better bogan, good you made it back for game 2 - always remembered ;)

Todd Carney is in hot water again after he posted an offensive picture on social media. THE Cronulla Sharks have sacked wayward five-eighth Todd Carney over his photo scandal on social media.
Board members decided in a telephone hook-up this afternoon to terminate his $650,000-a-year contract effective immediately.
Carney still had three year to serve on his contract.
The club will release a statement later today to confirm his dismissal.
TIMELINE: STRIFE AND TIMES OF BADBOY TODD CARNEY
The image emerged on social media of a shocking photo of the star player in the toilets at
Sutherland Shire nightclub Northies.
Carney could not be contacted today but Sharks chief executive Steve Noyce and his manager David Riolo had been in discussions.
Furious club officials unsuccessfully tried to contact Carney this morning for a ‘please explain’.
Carney had previously been sacked by the Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters for off-field indiscretions.

Picture: Adam Taylor Todd Greenberg told Triple M on Sunday that he hasn’t seen the photo but said he has “heard a lot about it”.
NRL commentator Warren Smith says if the Sharks had not sacked Carney they may as well have shut up shop. Have your say at The Crowd.
According to Greenberg, the NRL has been in touch with the Sharks who are “discussing the matter right now.”
“Clearly I’d rather not be talking about these types of things,” Greenberg said.
“We’re never pleased to be talking about them.”

Rugby league immortal Andrew Johns told Channel Nine’s Sunday Footy Show that Carney should not be sacked over the latest incident.
“Surely they couldn’t sack him for that,” Johns said on Channel Nine’s Sunday Footy Show.
“It’s silly ... it’s stupid (but) he is only doing it to himself.”
Todd Carney spent a year in Atherton after being banned by the NRL. Todd Carney spent a year in Atherton after being banned by the NRL. The Sharks had only just found some on-field joy, coming back from a club-record 22-point deficit to defeat the Broncos 24-22 in Brisbane on Friday night.
The Sharks had gone the previous three games without scoring a point.
While we will not go into the details of the image, a response is expected from the Cronulla club and the NRL on Sunday.
This is the latest incident to impact Carney’s career.
The 2010 Dally M medallist was banned from playing in the NRL in 2009 after repeated alcohol-related incidents while playing for Canberra.
In 2009 he spent the year playing with the Atherton Roosters in the Cairns competition before joining the Roosters in 2010.
After two seasons with the Tricolours, Carney was released from the final year of his contract after he broke a team-imposed alcohol ban.
Carney joined the Sharks in 2012 — the same year he made his State of Origin debut for New South Wales.
Todd Carney
Age: 28
Rep honours: 1 Test for Australia (2010), 3 games for NSW (2012)
- Made his NRL debut for Canberra Raiders in 2004 where he spent five seasons before having his contract torn up and was de-registered by the NRL after repeated offences involving alcohol.
- He spent the 2009 season playing with the Atherton Roosters in the Cairns competition before joining the Roosters the following year.
- In 2010 Carney won the Dally M Medal for Player of the Year which saw him lead the club to a grand final appearance against St George Illawarra.
- In late 2011 it was announced that the Roosters would release Carney from the final year of his contract following a string of alcohol related incidents which included a drink-driving charge and breaking a team imposed drinking ban which proved to be the final straw for the club.
- He then joined the Sharks in 2012, the same year he made his State of Origin debut for New South Wales.
- Late last year Carney agreed to a five-year deal that would keep him at Cronulla until the end of the 2018 season.
