Given the time differences over there it would be perfect for the new tv deal. They already have a past history with rugby league and get good crowds when we play over there every now and then. To actually grow the game it would be the next logical step. A second Brisbane side would also be a must. Its rugby leagues heartland and one side isn't enough. The TV broadcasters would love it, so would families if they were given a number of day matches. Adelaide would be no chance at this stage. Anyway would it be possible for the Bulldogs to play at Belmore permanently? (except for blockbusters) Fifita playing like a busted ass today.

Also I think Phil Gould is daring me to change the channel on the dogs game. Has done nothing but complain about how shit the play is. Surely the NRL will be bending his ear about this.

So Toovey has finally been sacked, what a terrible way to treat a club legend and his record as coach is actually very good.

Think Manly fans should get ready for a long few years of mediocrity. I think the DCE deal will come back to haunt them in the future. -PB

Not only have they massively overpaid on DCE they've allowed him a say on who he wants at the club: Myles: His performances this season have been well below standard. Lussick: Was meant to be the next big thing but has served up shit for the past 3 or 4 seasons. But most worrying is as a club they clearly have no idea what they are doing; look at how they've handled the Ballin & DCE contact sagas. I can't see the squad they are building right now competing in the next couple of seasons, give it a couple more seasons and Stewart, Lyon, Matai, Lawerence, Myles, etc. will all be retired and DCE will be 28/29 then what do they do?

Agreed. What if DCE gets injured? If there's a high chance he get picked for Origin (based off name alone or injuries to other key players) that could put him in the firing line for an injury just for those games as it is let alone regular season. Throw in the fact they'll have to build a squad around him like he's going to be Thurston 2.0 is a really really dangerous prospect if he doesn't end up being on that kind of level. Massive amounts of faith being put into him. -PB

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//breaking-news-sport/glenn-stewart-exit-helped-in-toovey-axing-20150729-403fw.htmlJust read this, appears he was a dead man walking for some time. Its always funny that these type of situations occur, I think its been shown time and time again that the best managers/coaches in the world aren't afraid to make some decisions. GStewart & Watmough are past it and this season has shown they are still incredibly injury prone. To think if they weren't moved on they wouldn't be able to keep DCE at all. If anything he probably should've done more to blowup the team and start a quick rebuild so they could be competing in the next 3 to 10 years rather than being a treadmill team for the next five or six.

-PB Both the NRL and the clubs have simply far too much to lose now, that I can't really see that happening. Heard Ben Te'o could be off to the Titans, provided they don't over pay he'd be a class signing. Was one of my favourite players at the Broncos. How good was that Evan shoulder charge tonight, such a shame we have this silly rule. :(

Even as a Dogs fan I loved that shoulder charge  so did Kasiano, although I think part of him smiling was knowing we were getting the penalty.
This is where the rule is wrong imo. It should only be penalised and put on report if there is actually contact with the head. This blanket rule is fucking stupid.

Last night was high quality, aggressive footy. The fans loved it and I'm sure all the players did. The NRL should be trying to make games like that happen more often, not less. Also you guys are 100% still a major premiership threat IMO

Would probably help if we don't put together a 20 mins of defending again like that first 20 mins.
