George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley planning to reform band Wham! to mark their 30th anniversary with a concert

THIS isn't a careless whisper.

George Michael, who will be performing his Symphonica concert in Sydney in November, and Andrew Ridgeley are to reform band Wham! to mark this month's 30th anniversary of their first hit 'Wham Rap' .


The pair are planning to reunite for a "one-off pop extravaganza" to mark the occasion, the Daily Mirror website reported.

"George and Andrew have often said their Club Tropicana days are well behind them," a source told the publication.

"But seeing as their anniversary coincides with George releasing new material, it’s one of those 'now or never' moments.

"They probably won’t do a long tour or release new material like Take That but they do want to commemorate the event with a big gig... and an even bigger party afterwards!

"Things are still in the early stages but everybody is getting really excited about it."

A reunion had been planned in 2006 at George’s Wembley concert in London but Andrew was said to have been “too sick with nerves” to join him on stage.

It was at the same venue, 20 years earlier, that the pair performed their final gig.

These days Andrew, 49, shuns the limelight, living quietly in Cornwall with his partner, Bananarama star Keren Woodward.

George, 48, is to resume his Symphonica tour in September after recovering from life-threatening pneumonia.

Speaking about the release of his next single White Light, George said: “On June 29 it will be 30 years to the day that Wham Rap, our first single, entered the charts.

"To celebrate, I’m releasing my new song. I dreamed of a career as a singer/songwriter from an early age but never could I have known I’d still be here 30 years later, with much more music to give.”

Lamb of God's Randy Blythe Arrested in Prague for Manslaughter
Today (June 28), some shocking news has broke concerning Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe, who has reportedly been arrested in Prague on manslaughter charges.

Reports are hazy at this point, but Metal Sucks points to a Czech news report from Novinky.cz, who explain that Blythe was arrested over an incident that took place at a Lamb of God show in Prague on May 24, 2010.

In the alleged 2010 incident, a fan reportedly climbed up on stage and ended up getting in a physical altercation with Blythe. Later, the concertgoer in question succumbed to his or her injuries, according to the news report.

The recent Exclaim! cover stars were to headline a show tonight in Prague at the Rock Cafe with Skeletonwitch and All Shall Perish. However, Lamb of God have pulled out of the concert.

Metal Insider got in touch with Adrenaline PR, the company that manages Lamb of God, and were told that Blythe was "wrongfully accused," adding that "lawyers are dealing with it, and we expect him to be fully exonerated."
