Do people here know much about our women's development pathways?

Do NPL clubs have womens teams? Do A league clubs have npl clubs like the men's?

Can we get a womens fa coe in canberra up again?

What are some low hanging fruit we can improve?

NPL clubs do have womens teams. Unfortunately, a lot of the teams can't really afford to pay that well, so a lot of the teams struggle with keeping talent. The teams that can afford the talent tend to hoard it. There is also a lack of depth. I know of a club up here in QLD in the NPL that is desperate for players. They have a player who has talent, but the wrong mindset, so they don't really push themselves to be better but they can't drop them for an alternative.

We also have a mentality issue with some players who think they should be a starter creating hissy fits when they don't get picked.

The other issue is the coaching pathways. It's so hard to get into a coaching pathway even at a C Level unless you are aligned with the club willing to cover your costs, not to mention that the FA is incredibly harsh and scrutinises every little thing, that you don't actually come out of it feeling positive. The commitment too to coaching at an NPL level can be quite arduous that for people with families, it's not really worth the little you get paid.

I was offered by one club $2000 for a full season. 3 trainings a week in the evening and game on the weekend.

thanks for the reply and a delayed welcome back! Glad to hear npl has womens teams. Is this all the way down (npl2,3,4 etc)? And sounds like a league teams dont have a womens team in the npl?

do you know if the nst is supposed to have a woman's comp too?

Re the NPL's and local Clubs and W teams grazor.
Talking from my small world perspective my local areas covering both levels obviously varies how many Teams the clubs can register full squads.
Be it in PL2/3/4 then to the lower leagues.
Some Clubs have huge number of W teams from Jnrs to Snrs incl 035/45/55 !
My association there is Mixed that has to Div 12 !
W AA to Div 6.
Have a scroll through there is more than I expected

Sydney NPL has 2 W divs.
W YL x 2 divs
Girls SAP.
Yes some AL Clubs are in the NPL comps.

Re W NST, I think in the document was mentioned that is on the agenda down the long pipeline.

Not all clubs are in the NPL and not all have NPL sides all through the system. Some of them are not even in NPL and play in QPL or BPL. These are much lower quality leagues. There tends to be a certain group of clubs that would be considered the clubs you go to if you want NPL football. As a result, some of the girls are travelling over an hour one way to play for a certain club. Obviously not ideal when they have full time jobs as well.

I don't believe the NST has a womens comp planned. There's enough issues with getting that off the ground in itself, let alone adding a womens comp.
