Does anyone like the idea of a team playing out of balmier sports ground??? If they were to play 1 or 2 game out of jubilee or cronulla you could get that whole area behind the team, and it wouldn't be taking too many supporters from SFC or WSW. Maybe it would work better vice versa (1 or 2 games at balmier, home ground jubilee), but personally would love to see a team playing there one day. Not olympic though...

dont know this club that youve made a stipulation about......Why not olympic?

Can you please be explicit?

Sydney Olympic. Nothing against them just feel that they would fail to bring in a wider audience. If you follow the nsw npl you can see olympic have always had an emphasis on greek culture and have kind of clung onto it, which is great for them as an NPL side but is too risky for A-League. They also have a lot of enemies in the area as well so it just wouldn't work

It doesnt take much for a Campbelltown side to have a viable model.
They will have a min x2 home games against the two Sydney sides but would most likely be gifted more the FFA to help establish the membership culture there. If you want a seat for x4 huge games then you've got to buy a membership. This is what skyrocketed the Wanderers popularity & membership culture due to the derbies being hosted at Pirtek.
So you have a sell out for these games at 18k each being conservative.

I did the projections on attendance aggregate not long but basically you could get home gates of 8,000 every week and still be sustainable, in a growing region which is within the big TV market and the stadium will always look half decent on TV.

I've been led to believe MacArthur Rams also have had a new training facility built. Can anyone confirm if this is the case and how good it is?

Ok and youre trying to convince us all here that a team from another country that only caters to foreigners will bring a wider AUSTRALIAN audience?

Youre fkn DELUSIONAL. .

Heres a poster pontificating about australia and its citizens......and A-League expansion.... and he has stated a few comments ago that he doesnt know shit about the most succesful city in AUSTRALIA in footballing terms and in terms of club size. He was also being disingenous bout wpfc and nzfas agendas in aus football, but that just speaks to his character more than anything else.

And I know who olympic are dickhead. TIM CAHILL USED TO PLAY FOR THEM. I dont need aus football history lessons from a foreigner with suspect agendas.

Australians of Greek descent at least formally register their clubs in Australia for Tax purposes.

Well thanks for now revealing your true colors... You are like the other fuckheads who make this all about race... and now you're doing it again... shock fucking horror...

Ive told you this has nothing to do with race and its about business, its a money issue, its a player pathway issue, its an administrative issue (wrong confed)...which causes all kinds of problems for australian clubs to qualify for asia, and abberant sitiation with player classification.....but no, you want  to decend this into a race fight.

Like i said piss off to your mates at aukland fc and tell them we have more than enough viable  expansion options here in AUSTRALIA thanks.

I'd have to agree with Olympic, seen them play Manly a few time in the NPL. It's a Greek club that should not go near the A-League.

Yeah whatever  mate. Youre like a legion of other fuckheads that are happy for  a dutch to team to have evolved and include them in the league.... only dutch clubs are redeemable... no matter which way you slice it., to the observer it looks like bias... youll try and intellectualize it. Standard. But thats what it will be... a bunch of intellectualized bullshit.

Anyway the issue here is not olympic, im not calling for their inclusion.. im simply pointing out the poster paddylips to be the hypocrite upstart w suspect agendas that he is.... not unlike you mate.

Has wellington lost their nz culture? will aukland lose theirs? who the fuck are ya.

I dont wish to open the internal australian effnik debate with a foreigner from a foreign club with dubious agendas who is trying to make us pour millions of dollars into a failed experiment AGAIN.

Anyway please continue to immerse us in your pearls of wisdom about a-league expansion oh wise one who has professed to not know shit about melbourne.

South Melbourne is registered under Australian Tax Laws. Wellington or a Auckland team are not. South Melbourne is founded by Australians born overseas. That is their only crime. It is back door 'pro Anglo' racism, this Aus-NZ Sporting Alliance. It is a sham which the Aussie Soccer Community is calling out.

Ok you can't compare nz and olympic purely on the basis that i have brought them up on separate occasions. I love olympic in the npl, great team, great people, but i just don't see them engaging the kogarah area that they would need to in order to be successful. All things being equal, clubs like apia, like melita, like blacktown have all done a lot more to engage their wider local community than what olympic has done, and i can confidently say that as a local, a fan, a coach, a former referee and a player. Its not "effnick" bs, its actually simple fact, and you would agree if you have ever been to one of their games.
As for the tax thing, you are right. They pay tax to Oz. Does that make me change my mind about NZ - no.
And its not "pro-anglo racism" for someone to suggest a culturally dominated club whose image hasn't really changed too much since the NSL days would be unhealthy for the A-League.

Tell that to the juniors lining up to play for such a successful club. They haven't got the pamphlet informing them of this.

again great nil club, very successful but that doesn't automatically translate into A-League success. Besides, compare their juniors to blacktown, manly, united, shire, etc. Of course they are up there but there are better examples in the league before them. If you need another reason look at their dwindling crowds whilst almost everyone else is starting to gain on their base. And I believe there was a bit of a mass exodus couple years ago with all the mismanagement of club (and peter moore) that many people did get the pamphlet for, nd haven't returned since.

You brought them up idiot. Randomly. You introduced them into the discussion as a means of instigating bullshit about the internal effnik debate. Dont play coy here. Youre an inflammatory upstart hypocrite prick is all you are.

wow both of you are looking ways to much into this. You know there are other people who like the idea of Auckland, you really need to get out of that bubble.

"Other people" ......very scientific of you. Youre starting to sound alot like ryan m with your unsubstantiated bullshit.

And who are all these legions of people that support aukland? the ones that didnt show up last time we pumped millions  of dollars into an overseas foreign club that bombed? The same people who didn't support the last quagmire?

Its hilarious that you opened up the ethnic debate and talking about clubs that can or cannot reach  a broad based Australian audience and in the same breath are calling for auklands inclusion - a club that by all logic and by its very definition WILL NOT APPEAL TO A BROAD-BASED AUSTRALIAN AUDIENCE. FKN LOL.

You want to talk about ethnicity....have you seen the latest yoshi/youve gotta have a team campaign? There are maori women in traditional dress doing the haka. Thats some pretty bold ethnic imagery being utilized in the main advertising campaign, that most certainly doesnt relate to a broadbased australian audience let alone attract one....

Now how does that impact the NCIIP? The use of bold ethnic imagery.... now i have nothing but respect for the proud maori people, but the ffa are having a laugh.... and makes all of you hypocritical idiots like williamn, ryan m, paulc yourself etc etc who are so accepting of a foreign nz club, and the use of bold ethnic imagery to advertise our league, (yet are so fkn outspoken about Australian clubs and their ethnic roots) look like a the fkn ridiculous fkn joke that you all are.

I presume the Dutch club you talking about is Brisbane. I follow SFC in the A-League & Manly in the NPL.

When SFC plays Brisbane, I have no such feeling that this is club has a Dutch heritage from the game day experience. When Manly plays Olympic, there is no doubt that this club has Greek heritage.
