Hardly won a game last season, ownership issues destabilizing the club and they're still pushing 8,000 members. A real credit to the Newcastle faithful, so impressed by this. Other clubs 'fans' should really take note.

We are capable of getting 15k+ members if we are successful, puts other big city clubs to shame

Are Newcastle's memberships still discounted like under Tinkler?

Does anyone have any solid background on this Thompson bloke, i know he's a part owner of Dundee Utd, but what the thought about his credentials and ability to drive the club forward in the medium to long term?

Good job by Adelaide, having leaped in front of City. We'll see whether they have a response after the derby. If they perform well can see it jump another 1000 in the next week or so but seriously doubt they will get close to the 13k figure they were aiming for. In fact no chance of that happening unless they start giving them away for free (which they won't).
Newcastle have been really solid too, and am really surprised by them considering the turmoil recently. Hopefully turned a new leaf for good. Same applies with CCM, hearing lots of positive news stories with new commercial agreements and community work.
Sydney FC are close to breaking their membership record and will surely do so by derby day. The goal should be to hit 13k which is certainly achievable.

I have heard that of the Roar's 12,000 members last season only 50% were season members other 50% were 3 or 7 game members. This year the Roar are at nearly 5k and that is all season members no 3 game members.. The roar's membership problems may not be as bad as we first thought. Another Bakrie F up by not selling lite meberhip options.

Are they trying to alienate the fan base even further. I still think this weekend they will struggle to crack 10k at the game but who knows. The win against the Wanderers will definitely spur people along this weekend perhaps. Other than previous GF rivals not really a huge match up for them. UPDATE: Based on twitter, Brisbane are offering 3 game memberships. Edited by Davo1985: 14/10/2015 05:46:16 PM

So we're not even that far off where we were this last time last season, mainly due to the Brisbane circus, speaking of which they've moved quite a bit in the last week. Maybe it's not all doom and gloom ?

I reckon city will hit 8k by their first home game and surely Newcastle can do the same and sell 200 more memberships by Saturday.

The HAL tally should be nearing 100k now, the website hasn't posted an update in a while and most clubs have added at least 500 members since. http://www.a-league.com.au/membership

With a few clubs still needing to update since mid last week, I would expect us to be around the 97-98k figure at the moment. I think we'll level out at around 100-105k which is obviously a drop but with all the dramas of the off season it isn't too bad really.
Next year we'll want to build again and try to get back to 115k or beyond, assuming we don't have more huge dramas alla brisbane and newcastle. Ironically crowds for both their home games on the weekend were very impressive. Both clubs are going all out atm with community engagement. That should never stop. If the media aren't going to give the clubs free exposure then it has to be up to the clubs to go out there and get their message across, and it seems to be working.

We're doing better than I thought. I was nervous that there might be a big decrease this season, but it's lookin good. A slight drop on last year, but still higher than the year before, so that's good. If we look at the A-League on a 5-year basis instead of a yearly one, the growth will be obvious.

Quote:Sydney FC has broken its Membership record for the fourth season in a row, the club confirmed today. The Sky Blues surpassed their Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season record of 11,510 this morning and that number is set to continue to grow with a variety of club Memberships still available for purchase, and the club on track to surpass 12,000 Memberships for the first time ever. Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata expressed his pleasure at the record number of Sydney FC Members on board for Head Coach Graham Arnold’s second season at the helm. “Our Members are everything to this club and are a huge part of our Sky Blue family,” Pignata said. “They are our twelfth man and their support is the reason Arnie’s squad are able to produce the performances they do.” Year on year the club has seen a 40 per cent increase in women’s Memberships while junior Memberships are also up by 30 per cent giving the crowd even more of a family feel. The Sky Blues fans also donated more than $3,000 to the newly created Community Memberships scheme which ensures more than 60 Football United kids will get to experience a Sydney FC Membership this season. “It’s great to see so many new faces as well as returning Members at Allianz Stadium and it’s a joy to see our Sky Blue family continue to grow. “I’m delighted we are continuing to grow our Membership year on year and we are building a real team culture at Sydney FC. “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at Allianz Stadium on Saturday for the Sydney Derby and I hope, through our Members support, we can get the result we all desire.” Sydney FC take on Western Sydney Wanderers in the first Sydney Derby of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 24 October (kick off 7:30pm). Less than 2,000 tickets across all parts of the stadium remain as the fixture looks set to record another 40,000 crowd.
