A venue for International Football School. We are looking at a couple of options and yes COE is on the agenda. Ultimately we want to provide the best outcome for the students and also the school needs to be sustainable in its own right. Hopefully will have some news on a venue in the coming month or so (after a few more discussions occur). International Football School - A High School for Football on the Central Coast

Quote:GROUNDS FOR COMPLAINT Central Coast Mariners aren't allowed to train on Bluetongue Stadium in order to protect the playing surface. That's despite the fact they're the only permanent tenant, and the pitch remains one of the worst in the league. Nonetheless the table-toppers have copped the ban with good grace, until this week. The Mariners wanted to train in Gosford yesterday before flying to Melbourne, but the request was rejected because Gosford City Council wants to protect the pitch for - wait for it - tomorrow's rugby league trial between Wests Tigers and Parramatta, which will involve three grades. Without football, the stadium is a white elephant, but there's never been much doubt about where the loyalties lie. This is the stadium which didn't want the 2001 World Cup qualifying tournament, and - famously - put cardboard rugby league corner posts into the ground for an NSL match between Northern Spirit and Newcastle Jets. But for a 60-minute dash to Budgewoi Football Club and back by an official, Bill Walker, that game would have been cancelled because of the cock-up. Not much seems to have changed. Quote:Graham Arnold and his Central Coast Mariners side ignore speculation over his joining Sydney FC By Guy Hand AAP February 11, 2012 7:08PM If Sydney FC hovering with intent is having an effect on coach and club, Central Coast boss Graham Arnold isn't letting it show. "I coach this team, I love these players, I don't even think about it," Arnold said of speculation whether he would switch A-League clubs next season and whether the talk was affecting the Mariners. For now at least, Arnold appears to be wedded to the Mariners' cause despite Sydney FC's keenness to poach the competition's most sought-after coach. Arnold's successful deployment of yet another quality youngster - 19-year-old attacker Tomas Rogic - in the Mariners' 2-1 loss to Melbourne Victory on Friday night continues his philosophy of giving youth a chance. "It's what we believe in, it's what we can afford," Arnold said. "We are a club of kids. What we are trying to do is to be a club of choice for kids to have a go and get a go. "We've won three NAB awards for young player of the month in three months. "We've had quite a few 18 or 19-year-olds out on the pitch. It's the focus of the club to bring young kids through and give Australian youngsters a go." The Mariners are also on the verge of new ownership, with a Russian consortium linked with taking control of a club financially hamstrung all season. Arnold is confident his side is not feeling the pinch of setting the pace for most of the A-League season despite the Mariners falling to consecutive losses for the first time since 2009. The result did little to dent their top two hopes, though the door is ajar for Brisbane Roar or Wellington Phoenix to creep within four points of top spot should there be a winner at Westpac Stadium om Sunday. "I go home happy even though we lost," he said of the Victory defeat. "That's the best we've played football-wise in a long time." http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/a-league/graham-arnold-and-his-central-coast-mariners-side-ignore-speculation-over-his-joining-sydney-fc/story-e6frf4gl-1226268593855

So I e-mailed CCM back the other day telling them I wasn't really ready to part with my money for another season when I really don't know whether they're even going to be around and the lack of anything clear over the past 6 months doesn't really help, and John McKay e-mailed me this:
Dear I write in response to your email below and firstly I would like to thank you for being a Mariners Member and for your commitment to the Club. In terms of the Club’s future ownership, those discussions are ongoing at the moment and these discussions and negotiations are confidentially bound by commercial in confidence. We would hope that they would be concluded by the end of February. We can’t tell you what we don’t know in that regard other than the owners are confident of new investment into the Club, and through the Chairman, Peter Turnbull, the owners and the Board of Directors are working extremely hard to achieve this new investment and should be applauded for their tremendous commitment to keep the Club going over the last 7 seasons and into the future. What we can tell you is that we have launched next Season’s Membership with the approval of Football Federation Australia (FFA). FFA have also approved our re-signing of existing players coming off contract at the end of the season for next season and beyond and the short term loan of John Sutton. Many of our sponsors are also still in place for next season and the Centre Of Excellence training facilities construction at Tuggerah is on schedule. Our Primary Schools Program, Mariners Active has also just kicked off for the 2012 school year and is again under the guidance of foundation Mariner, Damien Brown In terms of the Asian Champions League (ACL) matches we have booked and paid for our flights to China for the first game on 7 March and we have booked the local accommodation for the games in which we are hosting the 3 Asian Clubs. For all at the Mariners it is business as usual and a very hectic time. We would hope that our greatest supporters, our Members would continue to have faith in the Club that has survived and performed well against some pretty heavy odds over the first 7 seasons of the A-League, whilst other Clubs such as Adelaide United, Brisbane/QLD Roar, Newcastle Jets, North Queensland Fury, New Zealand Knights, Perth Glory, and Wellington Phoenix have all undergone either full changes of ownership or as in some cases are now defunct. We won’t say that times aren’t very tough at the Club from a financial point of view but we have had to deal with that from day 1, and we are still competing and growing on and off the field and as you know currently sit on top of the Hyundai A-League and the National Youth League competitions. We have launched next season’s Membership not only to aid the Club’s finances at this time but also because we have a very good (ACL) offer to our Members to go with the timing for an early launch. We sincerely hope you can still continue to be with the Mariners and to follow your team for many seasons to come. Kind regards John

Yeh I expected a response similar to that. Just never expected to get it straight from the CEO (unless he's gone on MailChimp and spammed everyone who's written a similar thing)

He probably has sent the same letter to others, "RedshirtWilly", but that is the most I've seen on the issue before. Nice work. Baby steps for the club I guess.

Quote:McDonald to remain a Mariner Thursday, 16 February 2012 3:41 PM Central Coast Mariners are pleased to announce that talented 22-year-old left-side utility Brad McDonald has agreed to terms with the club to extend his contract for a further season. McDonald, a regular for North Queensland Fury in their final campaign in the Hyundai A-League, is yet to make his first team debut for the Mariners, but said that with the structures in place at the club, he knows he is progressing. “I feel I’ve improved a great deal even though I’m not playing (in the first team),” McDonald said. “Graham (Arnold) has also pushed me on and shown me DVD’s, what to do position wise and tactically wise.” McDonald has been a regular member of the Mariners National Youth League (NYL) team this season, scoring frequently from left midfield to help the junior Yellow and Navy to first place on the competition ladder with just two games to play. The dynamo said that it would be terrific to secure a NYL winners medal. “It would be pretty deserving, not for me only but for the young boys as well because they’ve done very well to step up, but also with the older boys coming down,” he said. Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Graham Arnold said the one-season contract extension for McDonald was just reward for his commitment and professionalism shown in training. “Brad’s done extremely well since he came to the club,” Arnold said. “Like all of out young boys – and he is young – it will take a bit of time to get used to the structure that we play and the intensity that we play at (and) for him to understand the tactical discipline to play in the first team. (But) he’s improved that enormously over the season and it’s a great signing again for the club to sign one of our better youngsters.” “He’s obviously got a lot of pace and he’s got a good left foot on him. It’s a matter of keeping his intensity up for 90 minutes in defence as well as in attack. You can see a huge improvement in him.” “We expect big things from him next year.” Additionally, Central Coast Mariners Chairman, Mr Peter Turnbull, said that McDonald’s re-signing reinforced the Mariners’ commitment to youth development. “Brad is the perfect fit for the Central Coast Mariners with his professional attitude, versatility and ethics,” Turnbull said. “He is a young lad with a future in a club that gives young guys a go. He was a regular for the Fury, and despite not getting a first team spot at the moment, he adds to much quality and depth to our squad.” http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/news-display/McDonald-to-remain-a-Mariner/45434

Quote:A V.I.P. sponsorship for the Mariners Thursday, 22 March 2012 3:00 PM Central Coast Mariners are thrilled to confirm V.I.P. Home Services as an Official Sponsor of the Central Coast Mariners and Player Sponsor of striker John Sutton. V.I.P. Home Services Founder and Chairman, Mr Bill Vis said that partnering with a club that has such a strong following was an easy decision. “We see the Central Coast region as a crucial component to V.I.P.’s long term growth and getting behind the Mariners is great way for us to support sport in the local Central Coast community,” Mr Vis said. “We’re an international company wanting to support sport throughout the country. Sport plays such a vital and important role in shaping our communities. It’s great to be helping such a well deserving club." Ned Negus, General Manager, Marketing & Commercial, is confident that V.I.P. will be embraced by Mariners fans, and is delighted to welcome the company to the clubs partner family. “It’s fantastic to be able to bring another international brand with huge local ambitions such as V.I.P. on-board," he said. "During discussions with Bill Vis over the past few months it became very apparent that V.I.P. value sponsorship as a core component of their marketing mix and we’re up to the challenge of helping V.I.P. achieve their objectives. Bill has taken his business from start-up to a wonderfully successful position – his support to help us do the same is greatly appreciated by the club and we invite our fans to embrace V.I.P too.” The deal is an initial one-season partnership, with an option to extend that further – and Negus urges fans to help ensure that happens. “V.I.P. have made a strong initial commitment and are a big player in sponsorship. The partnership can grow very simply thanks to our fans – if you need cleaning services or are interested in becoming a franchisee, we urge our fans to do so via the dual branded website as it will make a difference for the club,” Negus explained. For more info on our to help your club, fans can click here. V.I.P. Home Services was the first company to start gardening franchising in 1979. Now, V.I.P. has over 1100 franchisees across Australasia, providing services in garden maintenance and lawn mowing, home cleaning, commercial cleaning, carpet cleaning and window cleaning. http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/news-display/A-VIP-sponsorship-for-the-Mariners/46373

I havent heard anything on this front for a while, so I thought some Mariners diehards might have more details. I hope it happens, as the Mariners always seem to do the right things, and are good for the A-league.

Quote:Central Coast Mariners Presented Key to the City Tuesday, 8 May 2012 9:00 AM In a Civic Ceremony on Monday afternoon, Mayor of Gosford City, Councillor Laurie Maher presented the Central Coast Mariners with the Keys to Gosford City for their contribution to the City. The award recognises the Mariners for their excellent performances since the inception of the Hyundai A-League competition. Since beginning as a foundation club in 2005/06 the Mariners have won the Premiers Plate in 2007/08 and 2011/12, made three Grand Finals and are currently in the midst of their second AFC Asians Champion League Campaign. Councillor Maher said that the Central Coast is home to one of the most successful clubs in the A-League’s short history. “The Mariners have achieved wonderful successes on the field over the last seven seasons and this is just one way that we can recognise their achievements. “While the award recognised the team’s efforts on the field, it was also an acknowledgement of their contribution to the local community. “The Central Coast Mariners have become an institution within our region, with players and coaching staff contributing considerably to our community “The team has strongly supported grassroots football with coaching clinics; promoted a healthy lifestyle amongst youth with their MarinerACTIVE Schools Program and supported local charities and fundraising initiatives. “It is this contribution off the field that has been able to win over many Central Coast fans and is a real credit to the culture of the club,” said Councillor Maher. Gosford City Council General Manager, Mr Peter Wilson said that the Mariners success had significantly lifted the profile of Central Coast around Australia and the world. “With the Mariners performing strongly in the A-League and their participation in the AFC Asian Champions League they have put the spotlight on the Central Coast region. “We look forward to their continued success over the coming seasons with many exciting young prospects leading the charge to remain at the top of the A-League competition,” said Mr. Wilson. Captain of the Central Coast Mariners, Alex Wilkinson said that it was a great honour for the club to receive this accolade. “The club receiving the Keys to the City is something really special, not only does this recognise the achievements of the players and coaching staff but also the hard work of the people behind the scenes who have built such a great club. “Each and every one of the players and staff are proud to be able to represent the Central Coast and we would like to extend our thanks to Gosford Council for this award,” said Mr Wilkinson. http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/news-display/Central-Coast-Mariners-Presented-Key-to-the-City/47230

Everything except for their shorts just did not fit well at all. Looking at some of the strips from around the world, i can see us having a really outstanding strip and now the GCU is gone, we may now be able to have an all yellow shirt with blue shorts and blue socks. The top half of the Fulham strip in yellow would look excellent.
