Aloisi said yesterday that at MC he didn't or couldn't have total control of the football department but has since learnt that he must and has at BRFC.

The situation sounds a bit like when Ange came on board. Roar gave their coach the reigns, trusted them and supported them until failure was imminent eg Magic Mike. Result is success.

Not even Ange could get success out of MV like he did at Roar but that's another story (circus).

At what point will Aloisi have done enough to bury comparisons with his time at Heart? Surely he's well on the way?

I would like to see him string 3 or more wins together. Go on a decent unbeaten run.

Anyone know the injuries to broich and also bowels. Although he did seem to be alright and played through.

Praise to Aloisi is warranted so far. Credit when credit is due.

The positives I've seen so far is Aloisi's recruitment, game plan, player selection and substitutions. The Petratos enigma is a minor aberration.

My past concerns were alleviated last game when we saw early substitutions, all correct calls and all 3 used. It's taking him a few games to brush off that same time, same replacement repetitiveness that follows lack of experience and confidence (ala Magic Mike).

There's enough there so far to be confident with the future of Aloisi. Time will tell.

I'm quite surprised myself. The players should be congratulated as should Aloisi. All are bearing the fruit of early success so far.

The Bakrie Group has lost my respect even now though. I wish they would piss off and let the club grow to it's potential (don't ask me for the details how that is going to be accomplished though  )

100% praise for JA so far.

Has learnt a lot from his Heart days, Thou I think a lot of the problems were not his fault.

1 thing he has is passion for what he does.

Fair point in the Bakries but a change of ownership for the sake of it isn't the answer, the previous owners were incompetent and nearly bankrupt the club as well as losing Ange to Victory in the process, someone needs to figure out the Brisbane market and new owners coming in with big egos and shallow pockets aren't necessarily the answer.

we need some sweet oil money. I just heart was a team lacking any identity so it was easy for the marketing experiment to get through. But im surprise some of the other groups haven't gotten in to help with say barca or PSG financial fair play rules.

Thats the whole point of mooybourne city and NYC. Hide stuff through those two clubs, pay for a small facility but also hide transfer fees for de broyne or augero salary in the payment. Brilliant accounting.

Not sure on that. Hasn't worked yet for city although I do think that's a coaching issue. I'd like to see fans take a big stake in roar personally

Broich, Bowles, Maclaren and McKay all likely to be fit for Friday night. That's good - we'll need a strong team as city will be up for this game.

It's a long hall back to Oz for Matty. Will take at least 2 days to get over it. Did Jamie play for the Olyroos and when?

5 days between games for the entire team as well.

Glad that Bowles and Broich are fine although Donks and Hervas appears to be a good back up.

Sweet. Although i am still annoyed that maclaren went on olyroos. I really see the olyroos as a frige player team, jamie will be player week in week out at the roar which is better than going on camp with the olyroos. Also jamie is pretty damn close to a roos call up if he keeps his goal scoring rate up. That would be far better for him.

You would think that any team that plays Melb Heartless City should be marking Mooy out of the game.
It will be interesting to see what Aloisi has as a plan.

I know. It worked well with Newcastle. I would have McKay or lustica on him at all times. On the ball two players on him.

I don't disagree personally but as someone who has coached young kids I know how important they view age grade representative sides. A better option is to break the season it play FFA cup matches on international weekends

Congratulations to Brisbane Roar FC's Jamie Maclaren who scored for the Olyroos in their 1-1 draw against Iran Under-23s in Dubai overnight.
Maclaren played 75 minutes. He is due back in Brisbane tomorrow ahead of our home game Friday against Melbourne City FC (7pm kick off).

Man forgot about this.

Q
Need to fact check but why are family tickets more expensive than afl. What are plans to get kids to games that play football. Free kid with an adult ticket.

Q
Roar always had a problem with teams parking the bus. We struggled with Sydney well organised defence and failed to score. Perth lesser team we needed a big mistake and some Ricky magic to score. What are you doing to break down the park bus. How are you going to improve the team passing speed and decision making.

On the panel tonight we have Head Coach John Aloisi (JA) and Interim-CEO David Pourre

Q- Does the coaching style prevent players from taking shots? Sometimes they pass when they should shoot.
JA- I tell them, if they can shoot, shoot!
JA I'm not sure what the past was. But I tell them to. If the chance comes, they should take it.

Q.We have so many midfielders. Why do players like Lustica struggle for a start? What does he have to
JA - I'm not going to comment on individual players. But I monitor everything players do. I
JA- Everyone will play their part. We have a long season and need the squad. They will all play a part

Q- What was different about the loss to Wellington compared to other games? We were
JA- The first half wasn't great. We made mistakes and got punished. But we dominated second half.
JA- It takes time for players to adjust. We will also go for the win though. Sometimes it works, something not

Q- Where are we with signing Borrello to FT HAL contract?
JA- I spoke to him early. When I joined he only just came onto a FT youth contract. We are working with his agent
We want him, hopefully we can have something soon.

Q- Plans for January window?
JA- We can sign one more player, but not at the moment. We have 22 in squad. We have depth at the moment

Q- The Olyroos are a bigger factor for us. Do we have any say?
JA- I speak with Vidmar about selections. He has a job to do though so needs the best players.

Q- Are you seeing any lack of motivation or complacency in the squad?
JA- Not at all. The opposite. Players are keener than ever

Q- How are we placed in the squad for future with the LB position?
JA- We're working on it. Corey is only going to get better. LB is the hardest to find

Q- Do we work on individual players traits and changing them? Eg, Solorzano seems to constantly just go at 100%
JA- That's part of recruiting. You look at player traits and how they are going to work for you.

Q- Is Yango still with the club?
JA- He has been released. The youth team is about finding the next top player
JA- We aren't to win NYL. If after 2-3 years players don't look like they will play HAL, we have to let them go

Q- How far away is Theo?
JA- I'm not a Dr. We've spoken with Theo and we want to make sure when he's back, he's 100%

Q- Will he (Theo) come straight back to first choice?
JA- It's about whats best for the team. You'll first out on game day

Q- How is Thomas? (After his injury right on FT)
JA- Thomas trained today. He should be back for the weekend.

Q- We have 10 off contract at end of season. Do we expect turn over
JA- We will start talking now. In 2-3 weeks clubs get a list and can talk.
JA- Craig Moore is across the player contract situation.

Q- What do you think of Brisbane's football culture? Crowds, support, media, etc.
JA- The "Who are we?" was a shock the first time. I wasn't expecting. Players buzz of it.
JA- The grassroots support and passion is huge and great to see.
JA- I'm excited and the potential is great.

Q- Any stories from 'that night' in 2005?
JA- Yes, but not always for sharing

JA question for fans. Are the players coming around the fence enough? Are you seeing them?
A- Yes. The players are out there doing well.

Q- Nervous about first game against old team?
JA- Not at all. It's another day in the office.
JA- That's another whole club now.

Q- Are you happy with the support you're getting from the club? Are you getting what you want?
JA- There are always things. We're always looking to improve everything. Facilities, medical etc

Q- Who's decision to have Corona take free kicks? Yours or Thomas?
JA- Mine, I'd seen his quality and knew he had great delivery.

Q- How was Henrique after Sunday?
JA- Injury is hard. Henrique has been amazing and worked hard. He's a great person to have around
JA- He was so good in training, I had to take the risk with him. Lucky I did! Match fitness is returning
JA- We'll make sure he keeps getting minutes before January

Q- Do you see Clut/Broich being a combo in the future? Thoughts on his development?
JA- Clut is great young player. Im looking to see how all players fit in a structure.

Q- What is Craig Moore's role? Coaching or other
JA- He works on what is happening with the football department. What players do media, contracts, runs meetings

Q- How do you think the draw will effect us? Is it good for us back end?
I looked at first 5 games and set a plan. We've done okay getting through it.
JA- We have a lot of home games end of season. It gives us chance to finish strong.

Q- Expecting a big crowd in Cairns?
JA- Really looking forward to it. Stef is from there, they have great participation.
JA- It's a bit unknown, but I know they are keen up there. It will be great

Q- Does the league need (big name) marquees? Does BR need one?
JA- Do we need one. Not really. Thomas and Bes were unknown but bring value. They bring excitement in other ways.
JA- The league is exciting enough. Media would say we do, but games are exciting enough.
JA- Our game against Wellington. Two teams just going at each other. Everyone commented on it

Q- Have you seen sufficient change at the club recently? In the positive direction.
JA- Yes, player wages are sorted. The owners reps have been in contact. They are here to see things
JA- From when I arrived to now, there has been huge change. We have stabilised. We are moving along well.

Q- Thoughts on FFA Cup?
JA- It's a great idea. Victory deserve to win that comp. Strange in pre-season for us to adjust
JA- it's getting better and better. Everyone is learning. Clubs will adjust and it will get better.

DP- We aren't actually that far behind full season ticket holders.

DP- The way it was calculated in the past wasn't 100% correct.

DP- In the past, there were little additions. We're on the right track. We are still working to improve.

DP- We track all sales 2 weeks out. We've been surprised by the numbers so far this year.

DP- We're doing what we can to improve things with crowds/members. Bit by bit.

DP- You would have started to see small ads showing on different platforms.

Q- You're still Interim-CEO. Why is that? Are you holding off? Are you not seeing signs from owners?
DP- We're working through contracts. They want me, but I want to make sure it's right.
DP- Simply. If the owners don't meet their commitments, they're gone. They know that.
DP- The owners are supporting the club. So we (the staff) have to support them.

Q- Is the stadium working with us to help break even on games? Rumour is 15k is the line.
DP- There are costs outside of just the stadium. Eg, transport, etc.
DP - First two games were fantastic. We are about even overall.
DP- We are working with the stadium on things to bring people in. They are open to it and willing

Q- What is the clubs position on Wellington Phoenix?
DP- There are bigger things at play. We're supportive of them, but it's between FFA and WP. We have other focusses

Q- What do you think of agents?
DP- I take guidance from John and Craig. I'm not an expert on dealing with them.
DP - Majority do a good job. But there are some who don't have high standards of operation
DP- There needs to be greater governance of agents

Q- In September we were told players were owed money and had until January. Are we on track?
DP- The owners have made commitments and a timeline. They are meeting that. There are many stakeholders
DP- In May, the list of creditors was very large. It's now a lot smaller. It's down and still going down.
DP- Owners have followed with the plan and everything is on track.

Q- We've been to many games away that are great. Are there plans to look at something start of game? (song)
DP- We're looking at options

Q- Did we make money from Liverpool?
DP- 'Profit' there was money in. But we were in a bad state so it wasn't a windfall.

Q- Video to promote Cairns with Jack Hingert was great. Are there more? Is it going well?
DP- The Cairns games was due to concerts and relaying pitch after.
DP- We have a great plan to properly engage that community. We will be there early to actually give back.
DP- There are more promos coming. Including features of Jack.
DP- We've engaged a local ad agency to show our commitment to the region.

Q- What are owners plans post January when debts are paid?
DP- We are continuing conversations with them about the future. The reps moving here will be good for future.
DP- Two big things for us are training venue and academy

Q- Liverpool game. We need to do better with tickets for members and prices.
DP- That game was one off. Liverpool controlled that game with stadium and Ticketek.
DP- Other stakeholders had objectives. Eg, Restrictions on avails so tourists could come in
DP-
There are lessons for all parties and feedback given.

Q- Are our players always going to be dirt cheap on transfer market?
DP- It's an open market. It's hard to define worth, it's up to that club.
DP- We want to produce the next million dollar player. We're working towards that. That is the goal.

Q- Can we suggest that the non-playing players come and interact with members on game day?
DP- Players have commitments to see corporates and sponsors on game day.
DP- They are also out on the south plaza before kick off for 30 minutes.

Q- TripleM are showing great support. Do we have a deal with them?
JA doing weekly interviews but mainly building on the brand.
DP- We have a deal with them. Their support is great. Ed loves football, they are a good fit.
Ed is passionate, he pushed TripleM. No other station really wanted to push for us.
DP- We're trying to engage broader too. @TheCrazyBull is an example. A great supporter to have.
DP- @TheCrazyBull is a fan. It's not an act.

Q- Sense on next TV deal?
DP- Our figures are good compared to some others. We're working with Fox on content to give different experience.
DP- Free to air and Fox are just as important. The way consumers view games is just as important - and changing.

DP- Update on Pres Night. We have been having discussions with Sirromet and plan to have some available for members
DP- Pres Night, we will continue to share updates as they happen
DP- Thank you for coming tonight. It's great to hear your contributions
