My hope is ROD has asked for a release to move to a club in the Middle East and we have signed a gun striker.  I know the chances of that happening are somewhere between FA and none, but optimism isn't a bad thing.

Considering he has been captain nearly all pre season I'd say that is almost a given .

I would rather keep him and get another "seasoned" scorer.
Would also not knock back a playmaker as well.

It’s that side left midfield role that we’re lacking - Courtney-Perkins seems to be the main option, unless Jack can play there? 

That won’t happen under no circumstance.

Although it is all youth we have O'toole, Powel and Courtney-Perkins who can play that left sided role. i think all of them have shown previously (otoole and powel last season and C-P in preseason) that they have the right abilities to play that spot. i think Inman has also played there previously but would be a more attacking option than how we have been playing in preseason. 

aldred is a shoe in for the captaincy.

As long as today's announcement isn't the club introducing us to a "leadership group" I'll be happy whoever RF chooses.

Interesting that rod is vc. So he must be offering lots more than what I can see. Hopefully he saving himself for the start of season. He just been so unnoticeable in the games I have watch other than scoring penalties.

Also what was the dates for the members packs start to be shipped out.

Got to be proving something in training that puts him up there as well.

Possibly his perspective and experience is helping forge a much sharper front end across the whole team and his value exceeds simple goals scored.

I still hold out that he is a player the opposition will have to mark well or he will score, making space for others in a truly integrated and well organised/structured team system.

Robbie might be creating a team dynamic that says any one of 5 or 6 players are a genuine chance to score (and will) and any player left alone will step up.
