+x+xHope roar dick glory in a few weeks just to see thekingmb melt down I'm going to the game and gonna look for him just in case. I think it all started when we got a draw first up and he couldn't accept that. And we SO should have won that game

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x6th place! Cop that NostradamusC :) Above Adelaide United now, but hey its all just luck ;) Hit the post, again, another heroic save from Young and you score off a deflection. No luck there, obviously. Obviously I was making the post in jest after seeing other posters, I have been a record for a while now saying the quality of the squad and overall quality on the pitch bar a couple players has been poor but then you have to question if Roar are that shit as people say what does that say about the other teams?
There does come a point though when you keep hearing the same boring posts about "luck" as a way to disregard the form of Brisbane Roar, they are undefeated in 5 games now, in the best form behind Sydney Fc,Perth Glory and Nix.
I think some people will always hate us for some reason no matter what brisbane do this season, but they are free to be miserable.
You are right. People hate Brisbane for some reason and fund as many negatives as possible to keep raving on about. As my very intelligent father once said, people who continuely trash and find negatives wherever they can, says more about themselves than anything else. People don’t hate Brisbane. If you watched the game yesterday, Brisbane were “garbage” yet again, however managed to grind out a result though a deflection. A little disaapointing it took you so long to enlighten us. Ive been here since full time waiting to be told by you whether it was a good result or not. Thankfully you've posted and I can now get on with enjoying AUS day. Straight from the Brisbane Roar Facebook page from a Brisbane supporter........”it’s a long way from the Ange days when it was all about the performances. As a football fan I cannot console myself with 3 points for an atrocious performance and a lucky win”......... Google "confirmation bias". It will explain your issue. More than half the comments from supporters were of this nature champ. Not all Roar fans are blind. How much time do you spend on Roar related sites on the net? You really need to stop obsessing about Brisbane. I'm concerned about your mental health. Probably not enough. WSW, MV, Jets and CCM understand there own teams are trash this season, for some reason a few Roar fans are blind. Scraping in to the top 6 playing atrocious football seems acceptable. Maybe Roar fans understand that supporting your team is a passion and it’s about love for the team above all else.
Objectivity is not necessary. In fact that often hinders being a supporter and gets you on an early bus home on Grand Final Day and you miss the mother of all comebacks.
City, Glory, Wellington, Adelaide are all above us on the table and yet can’t match our crowds after 2 1/2 years of pretty average football. There’s a reason for that - we love our team.
So don’t be surprised when you get pushback from us if you slag our team off. We’re football fans, if you don’t get that, you’re not a football fan ... you’re a generic bucket-head sports fan.
Brisbane Roar is the best team in Australia. Always has been, always will be. I don’t need them to win or play pretty football for that statement to be true. Only plastic fans need that! Brisbane has had 2 years of garbage football, Perth had 9 years of garbage football prior to last year. If Brisbane fans went through what Perth has the past decade, you would be lucky to get 5k. Let’s hope we don’t find out. It just amazes me when people come on to a page dedicated to BRFC supporters and except to use “logic” and somehow expect Roar supporters to join in the fun. You know we can be critical as well but support also means standing up for your team. i have several Melbourne based colleagues who, come grand final day, all gave a team to support because they line up second and third teams - fuck that shit, at club level it’s Roar then no one. I agree and understand what you mean. We all support our teams, but at the same we have to be realistic. We are f....n realistic!!!! FFS To be a contender there's a massive way to go !!!! Everyone knows that. We don't have a Le Fondre, a Baumjohann, a Castro, a Da Villa, a Ninkovic, but if we did....maybe? You are the one where is not realistic!!! its all just shit, crap, failure, garbage etc etc. go and see someone to help you, life isn't so bad.

@thekingmb On your point in general - from preseason in this thread there were various viewpoints on offer about what we wanted to see. Some said they would be happy winning ugly. Some said results did not matter as long as we played attractive football. Some said better than last season was all they wanted. Some said we would end up dead last or bottom two. Some said we would be mid-table. Some said we would win it all (I have to say I think they were just being positive, hopeful supporters) We started playing defensive, ugly football with glimmers of something up front at times. We went through brittle defence always failing against a fast attack and a slowly increasing attacking style. We are now playing stronger defence on the whole and are continuing to improve our attack - now taking lucky points in games where we lost equally unlucky points earlier. We do not aim to play slow, boring football and even though we slip down to that often it is neither the total of our play nor is it the end goal of our play. Balance and perspective matters.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

I don’t disagree, but in possession it’s still the worse team in the league.

I know you enjoy generating discussion (perhaps a little too much enjoyment), but never acknowledging even a small part of the good shows it is a choice you are making and perhaps as much gamesmanship as our mate Rudan employs.

Waz To answer your question on DWH and Mac......IMO ...I thort Mac and DWH were ok, far from great but hey first start together.
Mac dropped deep often, as may have been the plan. DWH usual energy, enthusiasm and trying to keep pressure on opp defenders. Mac had plenty ball and was decent, lost it a few times and maybe needs more game time as Rudan wouldn't play him much.
Mac at times seemed to dwell on the ball before making that pass a bit too long, but it could be a result of him waiting for others to catch up with his quicker thinking.
You see that with with higher levels of experienced players, obviously DWH does not have that experience yet.
This was an observation I saw when Fowler played with Fury v Gold cst some years back now.
To us Fowler was on a different level with his touches obviously, but also his speed of thought. His team mates were 2 steps behind him in every aspect.
The goal he scored tjat night was like Romario famous goal in I think the World Cup 94 if anyone remembers. Sublime.
Overall I'd say yes fair enough for now as a duo, and I'd expect them to get better.
Mura seems to have gone down pecking order and his still defs shy defs shy in the tackle whereas DWH let's you know his there.
AAH did enough for me in holding the ball up to keep CCM backs from knocking it long towards the end, hoping for a lucky bounce of the ball. And got back and defended when required.
So positives there, however we are s long way off Sydney, but so is everyone else.

I can’t bring myself to watch the entire match and Kayo Mini doesn’t really do it justice.
I’d expect Maccers to be played as a holding 9, I can’t see any other reason to sign him personally; DWH should play off that quite well. Muratovic will burn out after 4-5 games, they just do - the HAL to NPL gap does that to them so won’t be a surprise to see him drop out for a while now.
I saw Holloway in action once in the Mini and it’s the same ol’ sane ol’ - receives the ball, gets it stuck under his feet, wrestles with his opponent, falls to ground, foul.

Interesting thing - the next 5 games being against teams above us. We now have a chance to test how we are travelling in direct relationship to our ladder position. I am not talking the usual win/lose/draw predictions (or LLLLL) - just really interested in seeing who we might step up against and how well we will emerge from this test. Footnote: I do not think it is by accident that we play SFC three times this season and two of those are home games for them. Clearly the schedule was designed to give them the advantage they need against us!
