+x+xApparently next up it’s:
Victory (H) on Friday night. Jets (A) Adelaide (A) Any update on this Waz? Can't imagine they'd have a home game with 2/3 days notice. Are Brisbane really going to be able to travel to NSW to play the Jets in another week?

Youngster Macklin Freke will be thrust into an A-League debut next week with Young sidelined as coach Warren Moon prepares for life without his preferred custodian. Young suffered an injury in training earlier this week and is facing several weeks on the sidelines to recover.

Young is a really good/great goalkeeper; and will be missed. But its good to see a young keeper get his chance. If he takes his chance well, and gets more opportunities, its good for the club in the longer run.
Just my 1 cents worth.

It’s pretty cool how many young GKs are playing in the league this year. Freke joins Glover, Delianov and Margush which is one third of the league.

Mack’s a good young lad, he’ll be right, to be honest and this will piss a few people off, I would suggest his distribution is better than JY. Good opportunity for him. Only other keep in Qld I would consider would be young Choc Hunter. Another controversial statement !!!

Young is 36 before next season which is not too old, but now is the time to consider a replacement
Bringing Acton back from Victory would be my choice but Freke, maybe??

They may be improving - but he still gives the ball away often if he does not do a short pass. I would be surprised if anyone is put out by your observation.

Given that keepers never get subbed based on performance or for tactical reasons, why don’t they bring in a rule that subbing your keeper is not counted as one of the allowed subs. Young, second string keepers could then get some game time when the game was all over ... eg 3 goals down with 15 to play.

Does Moon have a three at the back plan when Scotty Neville arrives back soon or will he go to RB in a back four and jostle with Hingert for a spot? Interestng problem coming up.

We briefly touched on that several pages back. I wondered if Moon would look at the 3/5 at the back structure, but his preseason form and history suggested he likes a back 4 more. It is a challenge for Moon for sure. I would rather have both Neville and Hingert in the side than miss one out for rotation or competition.

I hope he stays back 4. Neville can jostle for a spot.....I'm sure I've seen him play a winger type role so that's also an option.
Better to have options !!!
