I don't think we need another CB unless we go back to 5 at the back and even then we still have cover. Aldred and Neville is a formidable partnership add Trewin and that's fantastic still with milarnic as cover. 

I was all for oshae playing further forward but the all-stars game actually changed my mind. He is a very good link transitioning the ball out of defence, I think he might be less influential if he stays forward as we might struggle too get him the ball. With danzaki now we have a forward playmaker anyway so oshae could be better in the DM link role

@BRFC_92 if Steinmann can hold down a possie then it enables O'Shea to play further forward which sets the team up a lot better than it was last year. So, as you said, its worth persevering with him to see if he can reproduce the Phoenx form.

Clearly he is a decent player. He started pre season really well for us then from memory got injured and just never returned to the heights of pre season. 

Riku should be fit as he is coming from in season. his announcement said he should be involved in the Thursday game. Charlie will probably be left for the cup game

Yeah that's a great signing. I would think that pretty much finishes the squad, though I would like another wide defender. Hingert and zabala are serviceable but definitely a weak spot for us, brown is good if injury free but he was out a lot last season and JBS is a depth player at best. 

We need to offload stienmann to free up cash, its a shame he does not fit our system as he was great at Wellington, just never found his feet here 

I am liking this squad more and more.

We have lost a couple of players that could just as easily have stayed in place of others but for the most part we are replacing potential with quality where we need it most.

Chapman in DM should tighten up the back a bit so the team is rounding out nicely. I wonder if Moon is going to give Steinmann more of a go because we have not seen the best of him I am sure.

I am hoping Charlie and Danzai will play some part in these two local Queensland Challenge Cup games - maybe it is too soon to hope for that.

Getting quite excited to see us play again I must say.

Was losing my mind cause I was booking a ticket for the Leeds friendly earlier.  Price coming up as over a 100 dollars. Get absolutely fucked I thought. Ended up being cause I had somehow got three tickets into the basket.

this would round out the squad quite well. if we go 5 at the back we have

Which easily converts to a 2 up front with danzaki playing behind them centrally allowing the wingbacks to get forward it also can convert to 4 at the back by removing one of the central defenders and adding hore/ivanovic/akbari/daley to the starting line up. very flexible, a little weak in the wider areas at the back  but if we can get rid of lescano and steinman it should allow us to target another defender (one of them has to be out already otherwise we have too many foreigners, hopefully both are gone)

Hore’s there and was at the club last season. He did sign a contract extension recently though.

Wiki is up to date and I know it is because I’m one of the people that updates Aussie football pages.

That list is as at 27 June,  I think Hore signed after that date. 

Thanks,  so according to Wiki we have 12 plus 3 academy = 15 players currently registered including Steinmann but not Lescano. A lot of work to do.  Mind you I don't think Hore's name was there.

Is there anywhere that the list of current players for the ROAR can be seen.  Even the ROAR website has players listed that have already moved on. 

I think kruse is is a bit stronger than a rumour at the moment seeing as he is apparently in brisbane and holding talks with the roar. the other two i have heard loose rumours about i think Arzani has a couple of clubs interested including us but i am not sure borello is anything more than a rumour.

in my opinion only borello is worth it. Kruse's body is done, and arzani has played like 10 senior games in his life good tallent but clearly his attitude had ruined things for him. 

Okay then, so we've actually got a couple of training games in the lead up to the Australia Cup game. That's some good news for a change.

So which rumours have we heard re: player arrivals so far?

Tough call if the dates are locked in. One squad will have to head north (with Lescano and Steinmann) and the real team play the Australia Cup game.

If visa players aren’t firing they’ve obviously  got to go.

I think getting a visa player who has been playing regularly is far less risk. That’s why Austin should work out. 

if they haven’t been playing regularly it’s a risk, and we’ve been burnt there too often.

Don't think dates for the Australia Cup game have been set. Remember reading something like games being played between 21st and 4th or something like that. 

Article from Marco about Kruse said the club is still hoping to offload them and they have another year left, which is worrying. 

We have Aston Villa in the Queensland Cup at Toensville on the 20th. How are we playing Heidleberg in Victoria on the 21st?
