How do people actually have the energy to exercise all the time? I'm lucky if I can get things together to workout and eat healthy once a week, I just don't have the drive/energy/motivation to do any more :(

Once it's habit, it becomes an energy generator. You just have to remind yourself every time you want to skip that the guilt is a lot more energy sapping than the workout itself.

I don't have anyone to work out with unfortunately :(

Cheers, will really push myself next week to do just a little bit each day whenever I can. Better than nothing.

For those familiar with Blue Mountains hikes (NSW), tomorrow i'm attempting Kanangra to Katoomba with a friend and some others. ~45km over three days, up and down some daunting looking mountains. Should be fun and will no doubt be the best workout i've had in a while. If I don't make a post by Thursday, assume the dingos got me 8-[

How long have you been 'working out'?
How long are the sessions?
Are you pushing too hard?
How long are the sessions?
Are you drinking water or an energy drink during workout?
Have you adequately eaten prior to workout, how long before and is it complex or simple foods?

It can be for any exercise, and after any length of time.
No, I'm not pushing too hard - I could go harder, but this restricts me from wanting to carry on.
I drink plenty of water.
It doesn't seem to make a difference for what/when I eat.

Are you still getting nausea?

Was it tapering off over time with exercise?
With hindsight, maybe you went too hard too soon?

Too hard too soon was definitely a problem for me the other night, but it hasn't seemed to be that way in the past, and it definitely didn't reduce over time or anything, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
I have messed up eating habits, so that probably causes a decent amount of trouble too.

In response to your question "how do people have the energy/motivation to exercise" - you can't just all of a sudden decide you want to be motivated, you actually need something to drive you. You need to want it. Once you have a reason, you'll find a way.

Dunno. For me I just decided to finally do something about my body image rather than just wallowing in my problems. A combination of that, seeing results and determination to be better than my enemies keeps me going ;) Plus, you learn to look forward to it, I know I do.

Ugh, I feel all of those things, it's just they're only there for such a short time that none of the progress I make matters because it's one step forward and then two steps back.

Congrats, that's amazing!!!! I just can't keep the motivation going, even having a boyfriend isn't enough to keep trying so that I look really good for him.

I'd actually really really like to, but we don't live in very convenient places relative to each other, so it's not so easy.

KiwiChick1 with your nausea problems have you had your blood pressure checked lately?
low blood pressure can cause nausea and exercising can exacerbate the problem.

No worries KiwiChick1
I trained a mate a year ago who suffered from low blood pressure and had all the problems you mentioned.

why do cardio????

lookup TABATA style training.
can be done indoors and can take as little as 4 minutes per day and has shown to be very beneficial.

Googling it now and it sounds painful! Will definitely give it a go, however I'm training for a 10km run that's in just over 5 weeks, so I do need to do some kind of running or other cardio work to build up endurance.
