Is De Silva playing up front again?
Not sure where his best position would be for the NT...

+xIrvine 12th in the Championship on Whoscored's rankings, even though they have a Scottish flag for the capped Socceroo! Luongo 43rd, Wright 45th, and Mooy 72nd, making all the Aussies I found in my skimming. Kiwi Chris Wood doing well with four goals for Leeds already. it's very interesting, Whoscored rate Huddersfield only 11th best team over the 8 games so far in the season, seing as Huddersfield has won 6 of those 8 games, and reading how Whoscored does give rating bonus to team that win the game, it interesting how low the Huddersfield is rated,,,,,there also only one Huddersfield player in top 50 with Rajiv van La Parra 36th (7.38), Aaron Mooy is next best Huddersfield player at 90th (7.14) going to be interesting, to see Huddersfield this season

@htafcdotcom DW: " Aaron Mooy is the heart of our midfield. He nearly 100% makes the right decision; to speed the game up or slow it down" (DTS) Coach of Huddersfield

+xMeredith scores for Bradford City in League One against Bristol City, 1-1 and they've just added 8 minutes stoppage time! What I love about Ange is the number of players he's exposed to the national team set up. If a massive number of injuries happen there are tonnes of players ready to fill the void ad understand exactly what's expected of them.

+xWow, Preston shipped 3 goals in 3 minutes. Final score 5-0, ouch. Wright was an unused sub luckily. Burton lost 1-0 to an 88th minute penalty, full game for Irvine. Huddersfield beat QPR 2-1, full 90 for both Mooy and Luongo. Clean sheet for Jedinak in a 0-0 away draw at Ipswich. Smith and Fedders both unused subs as Bournemouth were belted 4-0 by City. De Bruyne ran riot. AGF lost 1-0, full game for Amini, 83rd minute yellow for Ikonimidis then was subbed off in the 85th. Mebrahtu scored again for Mlada Boleslav in a 3-0 win. Great to see him having success in Europe. Thanks for the write up!

+xAny reason this thread has never been pinned? We tried before but people complained because they were in the habit of looking for it in the unstickied threads as it usually gets bumped so often. Mind you, that was with the old layout, could pan out differently if we tried it again now. It's clearly the most popular and important permanent thread so it's pretty odd that it's not, I must say.

+xWe have some good youngsters but man I wish we had a young talent like the USA have in Pulisic at Dortmund. Starting regularly for them, just scored another goal and only turned 18 today... we haven't had a player that young starting for such a big club since Kewell, I don't think. Actually, to totally be a pedant, he's still 17 years old. His birthday is on the 18th and it's still the 17th here in Europe. ;)

Why USA specifically ? there are many stronger football nations Just mentioned him as I was checking out the Dortmund game. There are plenty of young players like him from bigger nations playing for bigger clubs but I've always felt like the USA is somewhat analogous to Australia with the MLS being a similar model to the A-League, as well as the fact that football is not the most popular sport there due to NFL (like the AFL here), the influence of migrants on the sport, being a big fish in a smaller region (smaller by significance to football), etc. They have literally 15x our population, If anything i'd say we stack up pretty well I'm not arguing otherwise. We do pretty well in terms of population. Just saying we share a lot of similar traits with the USA, that's all.

Perhaps in terms of per capita and the fact that both countries have lots of athletes strong in multiple sports. But, as has already been mentioned, the population of the US is so much greater. That helps them. They also have a truckload of Hispanic support for the game which we'd kill for.

Damn, Ingolstadt should've had a pen to make it 2-2 and now they go 3-1 down. They did waste a lot of good chances though to be fair.
Still 1-0 at Huddersfield, Aston Villa drawing 0-0 at Ipswich with an hour gone, and 0-0 in Denmark with 30 mins to play.

+x+xSo apparently Fran Karacic's never been to Australia. From the article it would be like capping Richard Porta's kid. Would rather even see Seb Ryall get a cap at RB and that's saying something. That was a waste of time and effort. Just make him both, it's the truth after all.

+x+xSwitched over to conference for all games. Just saw the next and very best leckie chance. Great perseverance but he should have buried that but for Neuer stopping a 5m point blank range shot. It's obvious that Leckie excels against teams that push up and don't park the bus. I'll add some more info. He hot a through ball 40m out. Ran with two Bayern defenders on his inside who both slid in the box which gave him a chance to cut inside from about 5m in front of goal. Neuer with a reflex save. He really should have slotted it in the far corner. http://streamable.com/q7iwHere's the chance you're referring to, was posted to reddit.

Leckie fouled in the box but no penalty. It's his game against Chile all over again. Very exciting but frustrating finishing.

They're playing the Bundesliga simulcast here in the pub I'm watching at in Berlin, it's like football for people with ADD, I'm finding it very jarring, especially with the language barrier. Showing plenty of Leckie's game though at least.
