+xWe have some good youngsters but man I wish we had a young talent like the USA have in Pulisic at Dortmund. Starting regularly for them, just scored another goal and only turned 18 today... we haven't had a player that young starting for such a big club since Kewell, I don't think. Actually, to totally be a pedant, he's still 17 years old. His birthday is on the 18th and it's still the 17th here in Europe. ;)

+xAny reason this thread has never been pinned? We tried before but people complained because they were in the habit of looking for it in the unstickied threads as it usually gets bumped so often. Mind you, that was with the old layout, could pan out differently if we tried it again now. It's clearly the most popular and important permanent thread so it's pretty odd that it's not, I must say.

Meredith scores for Bradford City in League One against Bristol City, 1-1 and they've just added 8 minutes stoppage time!

Wow, Preston shipped 3 goals in 3 minutes. Final score 5-0, ouch. Wright was an unused sub luckily. Burton lost 1-0 to an 88th minute penalty, full game for Irvine. Huddersfield beat QPR 2-1, full 90 for both Mooy and Luongo. Clean sheet for Jedinak in a 0-0 away draw at Ipswich. Smith and Fedders both unused subs as Bournemouth were belted 4-0 by City. De Bruyne ran riot.
AGF lost 1-0, full game for Amini, 83rd minute yellow for Ikonimidis then was subbed off in the 85th.
Mebrahtu scored again for Mlada Boleslav in a 3-0 win. Great to see him having success in Europe.

Irvine 12th in the Championship on Whoscored's rankings, even though they have a Scottish flag for the capped Socceroo!
Luongo 43rd, Wright 45th, and Mooy 72nd, making all the Aussies I found in my skimming.
Kiwi Chris Wood doing well with four goals for Leeds already.

+xMeredith scores for Bradford City in League One against Bristol City, 1-1 and they've just added 8 minutes stoppage time! What I love about Ange is the number of players he's exposed to the national team set up. If a massive number of injuries happen there are tonnes of players ready to fill the void ad understand exactly what's expected of them.

Is De Silva playing up front again?
Not sure where his best position would be for the NT...

Jeggo seems to be doing well this season, full 90 minutes in Sturm's 3-0 win against Admira, still top of the league.

De Silva is still on but what on earth is up with his teammates? Only two Roda players were booked in that half... both of them twice (and both within ten minutes of their first bookings). Just dumb.
Looks like he's playing as a traditional number 10, in behind a lone striker in Wales international Simon Church. Roda have to play the second half with 9 men though, so it's unlikely he'll get much of a chance to create anything.
Happy for Jeggo, too. They must rate him well considering he's starting games as a foreign player after his Austrian passport got turned down. I'm sure the assumption that he'd get said passport would have been a consideration when signing him since Austrian clubs have a non-EU limit. Anyway a full game in a 3-0 win sounds pretty good, always great to see Adelaide #products doing well overseas ;)

Who hasn't been covered yet tonight?
Full match and goal in a Swiss Cup win for Juric, if it hasn't been reported here yet.
DDS off at the hour mark when it was 0-1 in a 0-3 Eredivise loss. Likely he was sacrificed to cover two red cards in the first half from a CB and a DM.
Full match for Jeggo in a 0-3 Austrian league win.
In England, full game for Burgess in a League One shutout, 90 minutes in goal for Cisak in a 0-1 League Two loss, full match in the same league for Aaron Downs, and same for Gallifuoco in the 5th tier.
In Scotland, Scott McDonald had a full match in a 4-2 league win and Ryan Edwards had the same in a 2-2 draw.
Goal for Gol Gol in a Czech league win, full match.
Germanroo also found out that a lad named Gab Cleur was an unused sub in the Primavera for Virtus Entella. I have no idea how he does it. Follow @Germanroo107 and make sure you hit mobile updates for a superhuman level of daily Aussies Abroad updates.

Get on it. Bloke needs a gold medal from the FFA for services to the game, if they weren't all about discouraging if not banning anything outside their own aegis.

Exports over the last 5 years hasn't been great Perhaps Europe started throwing their nets further and wider around the mid naughties

+xLeckie... Adelaide product... ( jokes aside ) but seriously, he is playing well in a top league in Europe....and their is no media coverage :( Green Gully product m80! ;) I have often wondered why the mainstream media don't do Aussies Abroad, honestly. Maybe I'm inside the bubble of Australian football talk, but with Aussie media loving Australian sportspeople and the lip service provided to the scores from the odd major teams in the EPL you would imagine that Aussies playing for or against big teams would be obvious sports stories (Jones' clean sheet against Manchester United or Leckie vs Bayern Munich in the last 72 hours as the first examples that come to my head), but there's nothing. Sounds like an easy win, to be honest, given the desperate scraping for Australian glory they do in every other sport, especially come Olympics years. From my experience in Australian media I would say that the barrier is that this would require actual work rather than copying what they are sent, which is obviously far too much to ask. Really sad. Imagine a day where the mainstream TV stations go into depth about Australian players and their games, as well as detailed reports on the A-League, and then quickly show the score from the weekend's AFL and NRL games!
