2-0, free header to Lovren. Langerak impeded by his own team mate (should have stayed on his line) but wouldn't have saved it anyway.

Feyenoord 1-0, Wilkshire played 90.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I find it funny that someone coming through OUR youth system to then go play for another country is seen as a negative. Even if they turn out to be the next Ronaldo. It should give a huge boost to the up and comers. They played and trained against one of the best in one of the best systems in the world. If they choose to play for another country, that's their issue. Not ours. :)

grazorblade wrote:Well done wilkshire im shocked his form has been poor at a weeker club for two years Maybe some of you who suspected he's been slumming it or resting on laurels a bit in Russia & during Holger years are onto something? He's back to the Eredivisie where he rose in the club and NT ranks before. Could be the best destination for him, to revitalise? He could still have a future in the NT IMHO - as a DM option perhaps? You don't need as much pace nor overlapping runs forward, when you're more of a screener? He was a midfielder earlier in this career, so it's kind of his roots too? His game too, he still put himself about, wasn't afraid to, even if that was a by-product of his slowing turn of pace? Though hopefully in Irvine, Sarota, Brillante and co we're evolving to have far better options in the middle there too? :-k Edited by GloryPerth: 10/8/2014 10:46:32 PM

Would think he'd prefer to play for Scotland because both his parents are scottish, his grandfather played for scotland and he's lived in scotland the majority of his life. So he has perfectly valid reasons to play for them then. Still look forward to the torrent of abuse he will no doubt receive on here if he does pick Scotland Was also born in Scotland. Then with the reasons said above, I don't want him and wish him the best of luck with Scotland. We don't want to become one of those nations. Most likely because he was living here. Same reason Ryan Giggs played for England Schoolboys rather than the Welsh.

Amini looked really good for the 10 mins he was on. Had some very nice touches and looked hungry to get the ball. If he stays fit he could be a dark horse for the Asian cup team, he and birighiti could be fighting for a spot

wilkshire was in and out of the starting 11 of a weaker club in a similar quality league and performing poorly. His defensive contribution was poor this game so that hasnt improved (though thats partly because he didnt need to do much) but his pass accuracy was excellent and only 6 long balls

TheSelectFew wrote:rusty wrote:Relieved Amini turned down Al Queda to play for Australia Wut? Should he change his name to Aminison or something? I think he is referring to the fact Afghanistan called Amini up for a couple of games but he turned them down saying he wanted to try and make the Australia. Anyway watch the game. Don't think Langerak was bad for any of the goals bar possibly the third, at the same time I don't remember him making any great saves also. I missed the save he made in the first 5 minutes which was apparently decent. Every time I saw Amini he seemed comfortable and pretty quick on the ball. If the September squad is all Euro players + Cahill I wouldn't mind if Amini was called up as he will be playing 3rd division in Germany which should be at least close to the level Luongo plays and he is in a very good setup. NOTE: by the time Amini came on I was 6-7 beers down so my memory may be a little unreliable.

fap fap Two players on the fringe of their respective senior squads. Hardly anything to fap about. The potential is there, but both players will find it extremely difficult to see genuine game time this season.
