He's only been there for eight weeks, and he has indeed had some minutes. Rome wasn't built in a day. He's 19 years old and at one of the best talent factories on the planet, and even if it doesn't work out he's still locked in for two further seasons at #product central, but I doubt PSV signed him just to show him the windmills.

As TSF said, far, far from the worst move to Europe an Aussie has made. We can chill on this one and give him some time IMO.

O'Neill unused sub in the EPL seniors, but plenty of encouraging action for the new U23 teams, Good finally getting a full game, full game and goal for Tanner, and Lyden playing the first hour in a win for Aston Villa.

Full match and a win for Wilkshire in Russia and for Jameison in Sweden.

Deng unused sub as reported.

Ruka playing the first 74 minutes in a draw in Israel.

Don't quit, Germanroo. :'(

Massive program tonight. Kruse on bench in Monaco with Volland and Brandt starting. Hopefully they will have to chase the game and he'll be brought on.

Jedinak, Wright, Mooy and Meredith starting. It's Luongo vs Irvine both starting. Please keep it clean.

Elder still out.

Some comments on Mooy from twitter.

Seriously can't believe we've got Aaron mooy playing for us. immense player. Everything comes off him.

Aaron MOOY is magic he wears a magic hat

Please don't shout "man on" to Aaron Mooy again. He's a football Jedi, he knows all. He doesn't need any help.

This current Socceroos group of players excites me even more than our Asian cup squad. Mooy and Rogic being two of the bigger newcomers.

Hopefully he can continue the consistency.

English fans have a habit of one week being

"He is the best midfielders weve ever had" and "this guy could almost be a good as Zidane"

And the following week

"I always knew he would struggle to perform at this level" and "go back to Australia you %#£# hack"

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/09/27/top-10-tacklers-in-the-championship-so-far-this-season/

Huddersfield Town ace Aaron Mooy is another player who is better known for his abilities with the ball than without it, but his spot at third in terms of tackles in the Championship is evidence of his use to the Terriers in both phases of play.

Currently on-loan from Manchester City, the Australian international has been arguably the stand out player in the second tier this season, drawing many plaudits for his grace and intelligence on the football pitch, which has been instrumental in getting Huddersfield into the automatic promotion spots with 9 games gone

huddersfield back on top now, geez if Aaron keeps going like this it will be hard for Pep to ignore, especially with Yaya Toure basically out the door now.

just look at the manchester reporting from the start of september when it was a total fap fest for jose and compare it to a week ago. - on that the english commentary in the sbs manu leicester game was terrible.  it was a total man u fap fest.  doesnt matter the leicester are the reigning champions. it was like they were a team of unknown amateurs.

even worse was the fixation on the english players.

considering there has been discussion of iniesta comming to man city, it means pep is looking for that kind of player.

i expect mooy will get a run with the man city first team at some point - probably in training.  what comes of it no one could know for now.  most likely man city will just make a killing of his transfer fee.

Late equaliser for Barnsley against villa. Villa can't shut down games.

rumour is that di matteo will be gone this week if villa doesnt put in a good showing. a lot of villa fans are very, understandably, dirty with the opening fortunes of the team.  they are going to need an almost flawless rest of the season to be in the fight for promotion.  and it does not look like di matteo can deliver that.

i dont think that will impact jedinaks role in the team much.  he is too much of a big deal there for now. although from what ive seen he does not look that into it.

Yep, I got that wrong and I'm happy about that.

On the thing about the Huddersfield Town fans... I had a glance at their forum. A fairly huge proportion of their fans seem to think Mooy is too slow to play at CAM (or at least not nearly as well-suited to it as he is to where he's currently playing or other CAM options).

They think he's far better suited to a slightly less advanced role and it's quite entertaining watching their interaction with Aussies who've made accounts and are telling them he needs to be playing higher up.

For what it's worth, I think neither group is completely right or wrong on that issue.

You say you got in wrong flicky. And thats great. But I don't think you decided you got it wrong. I think you heard people after the england game and after watching him play for Huddersfield talk about how good he is and then changed your mind to go along with it.

Believe whatever you please (and you're most welcome to trawl through the threads there).

I go by specific technical traits (using my layperson's knowledge) and empirical evidence. Mooy looked rather slow in the A-League, even against some of our not-particularly-strong opponents I noticed him get overrun and he'd already done a lengthy stint in Europe and failed to make headway.

The empirical evidence was not in favour of the proposition that he was as good as you said, among others. This wasn't just my opinion. Others, some of whom are far more knowledgeable than I am on the sport, shared this opinion.

Irrespective of what anybody on the forum said, the friendly against England presented evidence that Mooy might not be so slow and might be able to deliver in a higher tempo match. If you read through the threads you'll find I acknowledged this prospect in the wake of that match. I said it wasn't definitive but it was encouraging. I considered the prospect that I might be wrong.

The Huddersfield matches are further empirical evidence to this effect. I'm happy to be proved wrong about this. As are others on the forum.

I didn't alter my opinion because others said he was good against England and for Huddersfield. If I had tried, subtly, to change my tune, I wouldn't have drawn attention to the fact that I have egg on my face (and happily at that because it's good for Australian football). I don't give a shit about who I agree or disagree with. There are some things about which I'll disagree with you, DraunpirBenjamin, Arthur, Munrubenmuz, Decentric, the Pope, Prince Philip, my grandmother, Anthony Grayling and Christopher Hitchens. Then there probably are things I'll agree with Hitler, Julius Streicher, Lenin, Robert Mugabe, Idi Amin and Pauline Hanson on.

they think he's too slow because according to them, the role of AM os to play on a wing and burn off the opposition full back.  What exactly the actual winger's role is supposed to be i have no idea.  But that's English Football Fan Analysis for you.

Oh and they're still moaning that all their dead ball takers are shit...yet Mooy doesn't take their dead ball strikes.

Same thing said on TalkCeltic about Rogic when he was played deep next to Bitton.
They had Commons and Henderson who showed a lot of energy and goal scoring ability so many struggled to get their heads around playing someone who looked like they were jogging instead of busting a lung.

Im actually happy that Mooy is being played as an 8 and not a 10. Better for Australia and Anges circulation game.
