Ricky Ponting is a well publicized North supporter and has even expressed an interest in joining their board, whilst Warne actually played for St Kilda's reserve side in his younger days and regularly attends their games (which would be quite painful), he's probably a bigger AFL fan than he is a cricket fan tbh.

I always find these promotions odd. Really they do more for the "guests" as they get to promote their event to a captive local audience (i.e. the membership base). The international fans of the tennis player etc couldn't give a stuff about which ever sport it is.

The issue is not that football fans enjoy AFL, lots of Rugby League fans also enjoy football & the other way round as well, but you don't see the rivalry between RL & football as you see with the AFL against football.
