@Waz - I had high hopes for skapetis having seen him in preseason. But I can’t remember him being in our top 6 or 7 players in any game since. Not sure why akbari hasn’t been given a start instead.

@ Clockwork
Same here on Skapetis. He’s been shit.
But his quality is much higher than how he’s playing. It just needs to be coached out

+x+xAt the end of the day this all rests on Aloisi. He was responsible for not re-signing players like Thomas Broich and letting someone like MaClaren go without a fight. Maybe you can argue MaClaren was going to head off anyway but in the case of Broich there is no excuse. In any case I am not so worried that Brisbane didn't re-sign Broich but he would have been a very cheap signing and you didn't replace him with anyone of better value. The A-league is pretty physical and you can't expect a team to perform when almost every player could enrol in Dads army. The two shining lights of Brisbane have been Jamie Young and FBK. In the circumstances FBK has had a good season and picked up numerous man of the match awards. A model professional. Did you say Dad's Army? WAZ................................................................ They've just missed out on recycling Kazu Striker Kazuyoshi Miura, who turns 51 next month, has signed a new contract with Japanese second division club Yokohama FC.
The deal means he will enter the 33rd season of his record-breaking career, which began at the Brazilian side Santos in 1986.

Former Socceroo Craig Moore resigns from his football director role at Brisbane Roar
- by AAP WITH STAFF WRITERS
- Source: FOX SPORTS
FORMER Socceroos defender Craig Moore has resigned as Brisbane Roar’s football director. In a shock move, Moore handed in his resignation on Tuesday and departs the A-League club with immediate effect. Moore had served in his role since June 2015 and was a key member of the football department under the reign of coach John Aloisi. Roar managing director David Pourre confirmed Moore’s departure in a statement.
“Craig is a passionate football person who has always had Brisbane Roar’s best interest at heart,” Pourre said. “We wish ‘Moorey’ the best of luck and every success in the future.”
Head Coach John Aloisi credited Moore for playing a pivotal role in the club’s success over the previous two seasons. “Craig has been an important member of our football department and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his efforts and the support he has given our club,” Aloisi added. Moore said he felt “very satisfied” in what he had achieved at the club and confirmed he would be “exploring new opportunities” going forward. “I would like to thank Brisbane Roar for the opportunity,” Moore said in a statement. “My aim was to help build a stronger club. With the Academy soon starting and the new training facility near completion, I feel very satisfied. “I will now look at exploring new opportunities and I wish the players and supporters success moving forward.”

Medical services. They got that report back from the FFA big dicks last week and Aloisi/Moore had a he-said/she-said stand off and Aloisi won.
50/50 Ross follows him out of the door.
And another 50/50 Aloisi gets demoted out of his head of football role and left as head coach only.

Looking forward to Fongs take on this
It’s understood Moore’s resignation caught managing director David Pourre off guard, But coach John Aloisi – who brought Brisbane’s former captain back to the club in June, 2015 - had a feeling it was coming. Moore’s frustration with Roar owners, Indonesian conglomerate the Bakrie Group, was no secret. While he didn’t make his gripes public, club sources said Moore felt his hands were tied in terms of his ability to do his job properly due to a lack of support from the Bakries. It’s understood he first thought about quitting 12 months ago but stuck around hoping the Bakries would deliver on promises.
but maybe we won't get it BRFC will not be making any further comment at this time.

It’s becoming too easy for poor administrators/coaches to blame the Bakries.

Does Aloisi always make this little sense or is he losing it ? No Moore could see Aloisi shoulder more of that work, particularly with no timeframe set to find a replacement or create a new backroom role as a substitute. Regardless, the coach said he would have internal assistance available. “That’s something that we’re working through as a football club, the restructure and what we’re doing and moving forward,” Aloisi explained. “There’s still a bit of work to be done in that sense but there’s always ways of moving forward and that’s what we’re doing. “I’ll have help. It won’t just be all on me. It’s important that you get good people around you and I’ll be getting good people around me. “That’s part of it, that’s part of being a football coach. You can’t do everything yourself.”

Nek minute After 'resignation effective immediately' " Craig will be here as long as we need him and then within that time, we will be trying to sort out how it will look in the future and how we might restructure the football department," Aloisi said. "I'll have help, it won't just be all on me. "It's important you get good people around you and I'll have to make sure I do get more good people around me."

Last week " Craig will be here as long as we need him and then within that time, we will be trying to sort out how it will look in the future and how we might restructure the football department," Aloisi said. "I'll have help, it won't just be all on me. "It's important you get good people around you and I'll have to make sure I do get more good people around me." This week Aloisi could not explain why there wasn’t another No.22 jersey available. “I don’t know. I don’t do the jerseys. Do you want me to do everything?” he said.

I'm guessing it didn't go on the Tab Feb 3 2018 MASTER mentor Wayne Bennett has taken Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi under his wing in a boost to the A-League club’s hopes of playing finals football for an eighth successive season. Aloisi met with Brisbane Broncos boss Bennett last week.......
.....Championship-winning Roar coach Mike Mulvey regularly went to Bennett for advice, ........
Aloisi, was thrilled with the outcome of the pair’s lunch meeting at Gambaro restaurant.
Suncorp Stadium general manager Alan Graham and Roar managing director David Pourre were also at the lunch, Sep 2 2015 .... BRISBANE Roar have been hit with further legal action, with former coach Mike Mulvey suing the club, and Gambaro Hotel and Restaurant seeking to have the embattled club wound up for alleged unpaid debts.
Mulvey, sacked by the Roar in November last year, launched District Court action on Wednesday claiming wages, damages and costs of an overall amount still to be assessed. Gambaro Pty Ltd has filed a Supreme Court application to wind up Roar over an alleged June debt of $30,424 that’s yet to be paid.........

Departing Brisbane Roar football director Craig Moore to take action against club THE “jersey-gate” scandal that rocked Brisbane Roar is set to again rear its ugly head, with club legend Craig Moore to take action against the club. Departing Roar football director Moore was last month put on “gardening leave” by the club after numbers farcically peeled off Brisbane jerseys in the club’s embarrassing 3-2 AFC Champions League playoff loss to Filipino outfit Ceres-Negros. Moore had resigned a week earlier but was due to serve a notice period until the middle of next month. However, Roar vice chairman Chris Fong publicly blamed the former Brisbane captain for the jersey fiasco and banished him. “We have a football director and the buck stops with him,” Fong told The World Game website in announcing Moore’s “gardening leave” the day after the loss. “It was a systemic failure of management in the football department.” Craig Moore is taking action against Brisbane Roar. Tim Fuller, the lawyer representing Moore, sought a public apology from the Roar, saying that statements attributed to Fong carried “defamatory imputations” to the Socceroos legend. It’s understood the Roar told Fuller that Fong had been “misquoted”, but refused to declare that via an apology that failed to arrive by the deadline of Wednesday at 5pm. “If Fong was misrepresented, the club allowed an employee to be subjected to defamatory publications whilst they stood silent,” Fuller said. As a result, Fuller will on Friday file an arbitration application on behalf of Moore with Football Federation Australia, claiming the Roar and Fong are in breach of several FFA regulations. The numbers of Brisbane Roar defender Ivan Franjic’s shirt are seen peeling off in the Asian Champions League playoff match against Ceres-Negros. Fuller said his client was also considering legal options under the Fair Work Act as to how Moore was “unfairly treated as an employee”. “The club as employer put Craig on ‘gardening leave’,” he said. “No explanation has ever been offered for this.” When contacted by The Courier-Mail on Thursday night, the Roar refused to comment on the matter. The FFA arbitration hearing between the parties is set take place in the next three weeks in keeping with FFA regulations. Moore was appointed as Roar football director in June 2015 after being approached by Brisbane coach John Aloisi, who had joined the club only weeks earlier. http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/football/a-league/departing-brisbane-roar-football-director-craig-moore-to-take-action-against-club/news-story/ea153569b9ca8d12e465c7cdccced3a0

So the article doesn't deny it was his fault but he's suing them because of the resultant character damage? What a glass jaw snowflake, respect completely lost for him.
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. You would think if you are the boss of operations and shit happens on your watch it is your fault. The fact it was an underling that failed to do his job is irrelevant if there are no checks and balances in place.
Lawyer:So Mr Moore you are the manager of day to day operarions at Roar? Moore :Yes Lawyer:And you employed said gentleman to make sure the jerseys had numbers? Moore:Yes Lawyer:Said gentleman stuffed up? Moore:Yes Lawyer: Did you or anyone else check or have systems in place to check if the jerseys were ok prior to the ACL game? Moore:No Lawyer:You are the boss? Moore:Yes Judge:Guilty
