Mass exodus now.

Balls, the only player i would be surprise going would be broich and mckay... unless they are offered absolutly stupid money in the oil leagues.

Any going to victory are turn coat traitors... that is all.

At this point I honestly couldn't blame them - at least they'll get paid. The Bakries are burning this club to the ground.

Brisbane Roar i think has needed a fresh set of players for a while now anyways. As long as you lose some of the old dead weight this could be a good thing for you in the long run.

I half agree with you. It just that it really lost that roarcalona feel to it. But a player like brattan is a big hole in our midfield. But he is 25 and really should be pushing for overseas as he is quality.

As long as we keep donachie and devere we got a solid defensive pair.

But who knows

He was supposed to be going to Brighton and Hove Albion in England in the Championship at the end of last season but was injured at the time, hence why the club pulled out of the deal.

Hopefully can move to a decent club.

I know he's a free agent so can sign outside the window, but as most clubs will have finalised their line-ups by September 1st and he'll be with the national team, wont it be hard for him to get an overseas gig?

Brisbane Roar fans are speaking with their wallets, holding out on renewing memberships over the club's financial state.

The Roar cracked 10,000 members by September 16 last year, coming off a championship 2013-14 season.

Brisbane had the third-highest tally last season, with 12,113 members behind the Wanderers (18706) and Melbourne Victory (24,200), a jump from 8,112 in 2013-14.

With just under six weeks left until the start of the A-League season, the Roar is eighth with just 3442 memberships sold, with only the Central Coast and Wellington having fewer members.

Fella I work with is in this boat. He has been a member for ages. Started going by himself, then got his family involved.
ATM he doesn't want to put the money down because he is genuinely worried they wont have a team for the whole season. I explained the fox sports contract demands a team in brisbane so he would be safe, but he wont buy a membership while the Bakeries are still involved.

Cant say I blame him though.

A similar scenario to when Roar dramatically increased membership prices years ago.People left then and some never came back.
Last season ,members were screwed by Roar ,FFA and mother nature.
The complete disregard to members has consequences.
As they say ,Fool me once shame on you .
Based on last year ,it makes much more sense to rock up and buy a ticket on the day. It's not like there will be a lack of seat availability.

Decent point, It is like Melbourne city why get a membership when you can rock up game day.

WSW and Victory **to their credit** play out of stadiums they fill the need for a membership/reserve seat is greater and you are less likely to rock up and get a seat when they play. Still it is a huge alarming drop off in numbers by Brisbane.

Roar fans have always been cheap and fickle.
The record membership was last season on the basis of winning it was going to be down this season but not to this extent.
The other thing people have failed to mention is the effect of the friendlies.
There is no way the cheapskates in Brisbane can afford Liverpool + a season ticket around the same time.

Brattan taking the piss now

Quote:
LUKE Brattan has fronted his Brisbane teammates about his expected departure from the club, but Roar officials remain adamant they will fight tooth and nail to keep the Socceroos midfielder.
Brattan, who on Friday gained a favourable verdict from an independent arbitrator in his bid to leave the Roar on a free transfer because of unpaid superannuation, attended Brisbane’s training session on Saturday.
While fellow Socceroos squad member Matt McKay trained ahead the pair’s departure on Sunday for Australia’s World Cup qualifier against Bangladesh on Thursday in Perth, Brattan’s main reason for being there was to get his boots from the dressing-room.
He also addressed the Roar squad, some of who remain shocked about the events of last week, telling them their was enough talent in the Brisbane ranks to win a fourth A-League title in six years.
It’s understood that the club’s intention to appeal against the arbitrator’s decision — and probably take the matter further if that appeal fails — was reiterated to Brattan, who has his heart set on joining a European club

There's enough talent to make the top 4 and the finals anything can happen but under Aloisi it wont happen.

A similar scenario to when Roar dramatically increased membership prices years ago.People left then and some never came back.
Last season ,members were screwed by Roar ,FFA and mother nature.
The complete disregard to members has consequences.
As they say ,Fool me once shame on you .
Based on last year , it makes much more sense to rock up and buy a ticket on the day.

It's a point that has come up a few times in the past and it's one to certainly consider.

a) There is no pressure to sign up, you know that the stadium won't fill out.

b) The only thing that clubs like these can do to motivate fans to purchase season tickets early are little incentives such as price freezes and relying on impulse purchases after performances and signings.

Of course there'll be a late flourish of memberships for Brisbane, I just fear that this whole Bakries saga will have turned off a lot of Brisbane fans and perhaps caused them to lose interest in the upcoming season.

Football is going from strength to strength in Melbourne and Sydney, and the A-League needs a strong Brisbane as it's the third largest Australian market. The league particularly needs a strong Brisbane if we want to ever have a hold of QLD.
