The authoritarian left love to use racist terms like straight white male privilege. And love to say things like criticism of religion is racist (i.e. islam). This is in fact a deeply racist notion, because Islam is perhaps the most racially diverse religion on the planet, being popular in Eastern Europe, central Asia, Middle East, Persia, North Africa, East Africa, South East Asia, Sub continent, among others, so referring to Muslims as a race is actually racist.

You can say that criticism of religion is bigoted, or offensive (I wouldn't) but you can't claim its racist.

Wanna known something else? Whenever anyone criticises Christianity, do you ever hear people claim this is racist against white people? No, because that is ridiculous.

I bet those studies that show people on the right side of politics are more "racist" have the left side of politics defining the terms. Food for thought.

And this is from someone who tends to vote slightly left of centre.

Why does age have anything to do with it. I can certainly attest since my family are migrants themselves...yes it was tough...and ignorance was certainly around....Im not excusing that.
But I think theres an image problem when the Muslim community demands someone like Geet Wilders (Anti Islam Activist) be denied a visa to Australia but fall deafly silent when some extreme Imam comes here to conduct so called "sermons".
Im not saying the majority of Muslims are bad...Im saying that they do a real bad PR job for themselves when they are put to the test in circumstances that gives them a chance to endear themselves to the community. Instead the only time we hear from them is when they are whinging and complaining about feeling treated unfairly.

Pauline Hanson made that comment about 2 decades too late and as a result was roundly criticised and ridiculed by Australia.

Even John Howard criticised the comments.

I would argue that fundamentalist islam is actually a symptom, not the cause, of the problems of the middle east.

I live in Melbourne, in a neighbourhood with plenty of turks, Lebanese, Italians, greeks, anglo-hipsters. Everyone is well and truly 'assimilated'.

I also think we need to separate how much particular issues get aired in the media vs their actual occurrence.
