Either the Vuck socials admin has left lunch late and is hangry for paella, or we're announcing a Spaniard at 2pm.

+x+xIt took a while but we finally signed a former city player who started at heart. Brillante doesn't count as he started at goldie Anthony Lesiotis He started way after Heart.

+xEither the Vuck socials admin has left lunch late and is hangry for paella, or we're announcing a Spaniard at 2pm. https://www.melbournevictory.com.au/news/melbourne-victory-signs-rai-marchanMelbourne Victory signs Rai MarchanMelbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of Spanish player Rai Marchan for the 2021/22 A-League season. The 27-year-old was a product of Real Madrid’s youth system before moving to Valencia B in 2015. The central midfielder, who has also represented Real Valladolid and Celta Vigo, has spent the last two seasons with FC Andorra. Victory A-League Head Coach, Tony Popovic, said Marchan will provide unique qualities in the middle of the park. “Rai is a very gifted player who will provide us with real quality out of the midfield,” Popovic said. “He is still at a great age, a top professional in all respects and the sort of player who can make a special contribution.” Marchan will link up with Popovic’s squad after the completion of his quarantine period. “I am looking forward to playing in Australia and at Melbourne Victory,” Marchan said. “I am clear on Tony’s direction for Melbourne Victory and I am excited to be able to play a role in that. “I also understand the passion of our fans at the Club is outstanding and I cannot wait to play in front of them and create some excitement.”

Played his whole career in the Spanish third tier. Doesn't even have a Spanish language wiki page. If we're not re-signing Brimmer due to this guy I'll be livid.

I'll reserve judgment until I see him play, but on the surface it definitely seems like you could find a similar or better player locally.

Thought brimmer was on a 2 year contract? What's the deal is he going? I assume he and poppa aren't enamoured with each other from Perth.

He is listed on the official site's first team squad list, but those lists are notoriously slow to update, none of our new signings for this season have been added yet.

Their large/xl are small and ill fitting . But their player wear is a better cut. I'm hoping we don't get team wear but get a custom kit like we did with Adidas when we first signed with them

I'd never seen this photo before from the penalty shootout in our first ever senior competitive game in this article about Spiranovic's return. Left to right: Spira, Daniel Visevic, Allsopp, Ricky Diaco and Brox. Match report here: https://webarchive.nla.gov.au/awa/20050712075423/http://www.a-league.com.au/public/article/show.asp?articleid=8904

Would love to see how Giannou goes in the A-League. Do you guys have a central striker currently? Or been linked with anyone else?

+xInteresting exchange between Giannou and Ikon on the latter's latest insta post. Looks more like mucking around imo. I was expecting it to be an in depth discussion about existential crisis and the consequences of unregulated capitalism within football industry
