+x+xInteresting exchange between Giannou and Ikon on the latter's latest insta post. Looks more like mucking around imo. I was expecting it to be an in depth discussion about existential crisis and the consequences of unregulated capitalism within football industry 😅🤣🤣

Rumour we've signed Roderick Miranda, portuguese defender, played at wolves in the championship, decent games in top division in portugal, in and out of Turkey and Greece recently.

Portuguese media reporting it's a done deal on a two year contract, pending visa. https://www.record.pt/mercado/outros/detalhe/roderick-miranda-vai-jogar-na-australia

Can reveal that Melbourne Victory are close to finalising a deal for Italian forward Francesco Margiotta.
28 yr old Juventus product. Played for Italy u/19’s. Spent a few yrs in Switzerland. Went back to Italy last season scoring 5 in 31 games (started 16) for Chievo in Serie B. https://twitter.com/DanielGarb/status/1443427560767975430

You would think that finalises our squad for the season. On paper it looks much improved and better balanced. I just have some concerns over our visa players (excluding Roderick). Marchan and Margiotta are from lower leagues. Can Rojas regain his mojo? And while Kelava will probably prove popular with the fans, signing a keeper feels like a waste when we don’t have a legitimate CAM.

+xYou have Robbie Kruse though.. I think he'll be handy as an impact player. +xso do mv fans think they've got a sot at making the finals this year? squad still looks pretty weak We should be much better defensively and offensively. Not sure about our midfield. We have to accept we are coming from a long way back and won’t be fighting for any trophies this year. But I think 5th or 6th is realistic. I can see us eeking out a few 1-0 wins. But we have to turn AAMI Park into a fortress again.

If Kruse is fit he's the best aussie forward in the comp. Nobody has the movement or passing vision he does imo. He's just never fit. Not expecting anything from him so anything is a bonus.

The whole not expecting anything will be a benefit for everyone. Right now he's a luxury player that isn't necessarily part of a starting 11. It'll surely mean less pressure on him , he's not being trotted our as the star this year. Hopefully he'll be an impact player, late minutes each week or even periods of him playing then not playing. Whatever way it is, I really hope he can stay fit and we see what he can really do again. The other thing I'm looking forward to is the fact that Rojas is like a new signing and we might even have a little depth on the bench.

+xso do mv fans think they've got a sot at making the finals this year? squad still looks pretty weak I'm wondering if the use of "' sot " was intentional. Like, you'd have to be drunk to think they had any chance.

Although the full season fixture is yet to be confirmed, MV has confirmed that the 26th Jan Australia Day game will again be a Big Blue at AAMI park. They have also confirmed that MV will play BR on the 2nd Jan followed by AU on the 8th Jan, both games being played at AAMI park. That means there will be 4 straight weeks of games at AAMI for MV (although one game is away to MC). https://www.melbournevictory.com.au/news/australia-day-against-sydney-aami-park-run-victory

I need to know all of our January fixtures so I can see if I can get to any away games.

We can assume there will be an away game on Jan 14-16. If I had to take a punt, I'd say it would be in NSW.

Got my membership pack. I am an inaugural, gold member so I am not sure if this is why, but the quality of the cap and scarf is very high, fridge magnet fixture was a funny workaround for those who follow theee things in the #Vuk community, a nice little badge, some discounts on sponsor products, stickers, lanyard etc... All in a handy little box I can use to store all my #Vuk nic nacs...... Cannot wait to get back to the A-league and back to BT Connor in the NPl also when the building works finish up. Big year of live football ahead....

There it is, Vuk have got the best CAM in the league so, onward and upward then with the assists and goals from Robbie!

We have sold out our GA away bays for WU away. Sure, it's probably only about 3,000 tix, but still not bad after being on sale only a couple of days. Hopefully it’s a bit of a sign of fans returning after 2 shocking years. +xJust got my membership pack, very pleased with it.
