+x+x+x+x+x+x+xTBH, I have never heard of him I am not sure about our squad, but I think we have a good coach Neither has anyone in Greece mate :) .. He must be freaking out that he gets to migrate to Melbourne, eat Souvs and drink Frappe all day at Oakleigh and get paid 350K Euro a season to do it..... lol, but I'd be surprised if they can pay him that to be honest lol Greek football newspapers (Ithere are dozens of them) are a cesspit of false info usually ut Sport 24 is one of the more accurate. The hilarious thing is that Greek football fans are freaking out thinking that the Aleague is becoming like the Saudi league and MLS... "if a nobody from Atrmito can get poached for 360K a year then imagine what the Aussies will pay for real players sort of thing"... lol I wonder what Victory's game is here? Maybe another Panyiotis "Mustafa" Kone situation? Yeah it’s a signing that doesn’t really make sense. They already have Bruno and Reec, the only thing I can think of is that Kisnorbo might want to play with two up top. Although Bruno did well last season, he'll be 37 when the season starts. Last season the biggest issue for MV was scoring goals. Another regular goal scorer makes a lot of sense, especially if Arzani starts scoring regularly as well. If you guys aren’t playing a front two, then why bother signing Jing Reec then? All that does is stunt his development and waste some money. +x+x+x+x+xTBH, I have never heard of him I am not sure about our squad, but I think we have a good coach Neither has anyone in Greece mate :) .. Our defence has been appalling for 5 years so that’s not exactly a high bar

+x+xYou guys are going to be strong this season it's a bit of a worry The squad is shaping up. I think we have good forward options especially if Vergos pans out. Our defence is a lot weaker without Da Silva. Although Hamill and Miranda formed a good partnership before Hamill went to India. Our midfield is okay. I like Teague a lot. Machach is good but can be hot and cold. Outside of that Valadon and Monge are young and promising. It lacks a little bit and I'd expect we try to strengthen it. Or maybe we'll bank on the youth. Out of curiosity, what formation did Kisnorbo favour? 4-2-3-1 at City.

+x+xTBH, I have never heard of him I am not sure about our squad, but I think we have a good coach Neither have I. He's played at Olympiacos and Panathinaikos which are big clubs. It'll be interesting how it pans out. In the AL I reckon its a lot about attitude. If he comes here and is serious he could surprise a few. Hahahaha "played" at OSFP and Panathinaikos? hahahaha mate he was a benchie that got loaned out .. Sort of like Fornorli and Barbarousses stints at Panathinakois... nothing but splinters from the pine....

Vergos wouldn't be the first visa player to come to the AL with a mixed club career. Some of those players have been the best visa signings. Players with more fancied careers have flopped. It's a coin toss with these signings so I'm keeping an open mind until I see him play.

Either way looks like Victory have gone "all in" with the cash .

Even the A-League clubs that have won their games, haven't been able to keep clean sheets.

That said some big salaries just walked out of the club and the incomings would be modest by comparison. The unknown is how much revenue has been lost via 777 + the tv rights stuff. On balance my feel is theres been a decrease in spending do far, albeit there's time for more signings.

the greek division is pretty good and it is statistically better at adding value to players than norway, scotland and sweden. He got something like 1500 minutes last season and is near his prime
I would expect him to be well above average at a league level

Bonevacia and Bozinovski will depart when their contracts expire. I'd expect us to bring in some more midfielders and CBs.

Your boy scored 5 goals in 1500 minutes, against such powerhouses of Greek football as Giannina (look at that defensive record) with the others in the cup against 2nd and 3rd division sides.... Not even I think the Aleague is that bad.

Almost HT and Victory up 2-0 v Altona Magic. Vellupillay and Piscopo with the goals. Vergos is debuting. Bos has been preffered to Traore at LB in pre-season so far.

Just seen that Arzani was on the bench again (on in the second half) and Teague not on the bench at all, are they on the outer?
Same with Bruno on the bench on in the second half, and Folami not in the team either.

I would guess it's because of injury or management. Likewise with Arzani, but there is lots of competition for wide forwards so I expect rotation. I think Arzani will be a starter. Fornaroli, dunno, he's getting on in age so I think will play less. Folami is a curious one actually. He didn't play a lot last year.

This is the only place that I’ve seen this. At the Adelaide member’s forum last night, the CEO (John Kosmina’s son) was openly talking about the possibility of Craig Goodwin returning to Adelaide.

It’s good to get some context on this, Arzani also got only 5 minutes in the Aus Cup with that young player playing ahead of him in that game so it will be interesting what happens but I agree I can’t see him being left out for too long. But the Teague omission is something to keep an eye on I think, he’s too good of a player to be left out as well.

That would make our midfield Machach, Valadon, Monge with no depth behind that atm.
