by my count we have 6 players in our squad that started at other clubs. I'm not sure what the stats are, but I would suggest that is lower than most other clubs.

no, I don't think so. pretty sure one of the Brisbane home ACL games kicked off at 7pm a few months ago. the club did a survey during the year and asked these questions. that's why the Geelong game is now at 5:30pm on a Saturday... because that's what the fans wanted.   

BR currently have 5, but we have more former players playing for other teams now than have moved to us.

I guess the only thing that I would like to know is if Milligan qualifies for the guest marquee rule - if he does, then no dramas. If he doesn't however, which in turn chews up our valuable marquee spot, then I do question the wisdom.

Surely his profile is large enough to qualify - he captained the Socceroos at the Confeds Cup, not to mention having a large profile in the A-League already.

This would work against him I would imagine. He would be a maaaaybe if he hadn't already played here, but the prestige isn't there due to him already playing in the HAL. Not saying it's right (or wrong), but it's how it is.

And besides - only FFAs pet clubs would get a guest marquee ruling.

He is head and shoulders above most players in the league though. It is a lot of money but you know you're getting quality.

Too easy. The spine will be mostly sorted with quality non visa players (Thomas, Donachie,Williams,Valeri,Milligan,Bes).

Muscat's recruitment has almost always be spot on for foreigners, he'll find (or probably already has found) a quality player to fill the gap of Troisi. We'e spent two years trying to find a Milligan replacement and never truly challenged because of it.

Would also guess that Milligan's move to England stalling means we probably wont sign Mauk (and hence why all those strong links seemingly died off immediately).

We are looking dead set average at the minute, Muscat would want to pull some quality foreigners out of his date, if we are to get anywhere near it.

It's like looking at 2014 , getting back players from a title winning side, I'm yet to see those Victory signings, who have so excited us in the past.

This season so far and last season, the recruitment has been average and has lacked vision, we still have a while to go before the final squad is assembled, but not looking good so far. 

Part of the problem is technically the clubs don't actually know what the cap is for next season. It will be at least $2.6M but the clubs have requested an increase to $2.9M. Part of the seemingly never ending negotiations. Makes it difficult to pull the trigger on some signings if the club does't know if they have an extra $300k to spend or not. Makes a big difference with such a small cap.

There's another thread that mentions Adama Traore is not wanted by his club.. If we're bringing the old band back together.... :D

Surprisingly not worried about this despite the report. Has made it clear he wants t be playing regularly before the WC, hence why he came back. 

Although being one of NZ's best he'd probably be picked regardless of game time. 

Ok now I'm worried.
