This is the squad for me going into next season: George - ? - Kosta ? ? - Antonis ? - Williams - Donachie - Geria Thomas
There's no doubting Besart's passion and love for the club, but I think he's past it. His finishing and pace has deserted him. Troisi can go, and I think this is Valeri's last season. I think we should go all out for international marquee 10 and a number 9, a foreign defensive mid and an Aussie left back (Corey Brown, maybe Brad Smith?). Regardless, big changes are needed.

I'm not ready to say Bes is past it yet. A quality AM feeding him can turn things around. But we do need a backup striker. He's played a lot of minutes in his time with us. I'm also not convinced Thomas should stay. He's been found out a few times this year. He is also out of contract. I think we should look to see who is available. I think he also had ambitions to play overseas.

I think you are very close to the mark. The #9, AM and #6 would be filled by visa players. Get a half decent local LB. Would be happy if Deng, Nigro and Acton all stayed as bench player.
Full trophy cabinet (but yours looks a bit empty) ! Reigning BACK2BACK 442 A League and World Cup (Mens and Womens) Tipping Champion - so yeap, I do know best !

Supposedly Musky's contract is up end of season aka 7 games. Wouldn't be renewing. -PB

Would be best for both parties to seperate at the end of the year. Another poor season here and Muscat's rep will be gone, leaving at the end of the year and taking up something overseas and we can all look back on his time fondly.

If we lose our next game I would be pretty confident that we won't make the six or if we did it's out in Week 1. -PB

However, If we finish 6th (or under) in the HAL and perform poorly at the ACL, I can't see any good reason to renew his contract.

I honestly don't feel as if Muscy is the problem but if he doesn't change the squad and become a catalyst that leads to squad changes.

The Metricon sponsorship on our ACL looks a lot better than the one on the A-League kit, and the numbers on the front look infinitely better than the A-League logo, goes without saying.

It would be an awful idea to resign Kev at this point. Merrick got sacked after an embarrassing ACL campaign. Lets wait and see but it looks like this one will be worse. If Muscat doesn't go then Trimmers will get the boot as a scapegoat for the appalling squad balance and recruiting. There is just so much wrong with this season, it shows on the table and it shows in the stands.

Be interesting to see what team Kev puts out after the Shanghai trip, there's decent days off to recover but can see the same cookie cutter team being put out. -PB

Seriously, how fucken good is Leroy George, almost single-handedly winning us games at this point.
Also, I much prefer Sanchez alongside Antonis over Valeri. He offers us so much more fluidity, mobility and pace in the middle of the park.
